Was perfect for a quick stop to get some sleep. Plenty of food options, clean restrooms etc. I do think a street sweeper purposely kept doing loops around mine and 2 other vans at the back of the parking lot. Didn’t bother me though.

We also found the people here lovely, and they helped us organise to go see the gorillas without any of the additional costs like transport, accomodation etc that tour companies usually add on. However organisation is slow and difficult because network is very limited in the area, so I would definitely call ahead to try and organise it, and check back with them that it's organised before you arrive. Larissa organises gorilla trips: +241 06 12 41 12

So you can drive yourself, camp, cook your own meals. We did the trip in one day to save cost / time, but this was fairly tiring, because the road to get there (Doussala) is not ideal. Most of it is average quality dirt road, like all roads in Gabon, will be trickier if wet. It took us 3-3.5 hours when dry. Very beautiful drive and lots of wildlife to see, but the problem is the bridges - definitely wouldn't recommend for big rigs. We had some hairy moments and spent a lot of time rebuilding the bridges with spare planks and our bridging ladders. Did see some plank piles about - if they're still there maybe you should expect that the bridges haven't been fixed!

At Doussala, the guides and trackers were very professional and we got to spend a whole hour with the gorillas, a big group of them in the forest. Very special, but also very expensive and a tiring day. It cost 230000 per person.

if this is too expensive for you definitely do as mentioned and drive down to panga. the road is good and it's incredible down there. Afternoon / evening seemed to be the best time for us to spot wildlife there.. good luck!

This is the best and cheapest spot you can get at K59. Yogi is very friendly and likes to talk and even share some food. Everything is nicely organized and clean all the time. Toilets, shower and a nicely equipped kitchen for only $10 per night, considering the beach parking just near here is the same and u have no facilities.

You can park your van nearby or under a palapa with a view to the river and the sea with a light breeze, which is precious in El Salvador.

A bed in a dorm was $15 or $25 full room with fan and light but I have my tent and I wanted to be with my motorcycle, although it is super safe here.

Great surf, few mosquitoes and super mellow. Best spot for K59! Photos uploaded as the hostel is now totally renewed.

nice spot at the edge of the national forest.
somebody blocked the entrance of the path with debris. we were able to drive around it with a F250 truck camper. quite a few people drove by but nobody bothered us.

We stopped to inquire about a room. The price is now 900 pesos per night. We looked at the room and the parking situation (off-street but not secure parking) and decided to go elsewhere.

Great location for a quiet night, we had no problem staying here. It is a gravel parking at the end of the paved road just behind Rona. Very quiet, spacious and a lot more privacy then staying at Walmart down the road.

The trail to that location is closed due to restauration (but you can do a little walk up to the hill). Only the first 200 meter from the road are open for vehicles. There is one flat spot. You can still here and see the cars on the road.

Mostly packed gravel; we made it very easily in our 30' skoolie pulling our 18' car trailer. The wildfire smoke has been really bad.

I could not find the spot described above using the coordinates but we did find a large gravel area to stay for the night. So much quieter than a truckstop or a rest stop. No water or bathroom at this location.

Went slightly farther than the original spot because someone was already posted there, but nice quiet area -like others have said, about 1.5-2mi down a private road past a gate (be sure to close behind you). Would stay again :)

Ideal place to stop in Conakry with the cars, right next to a busy road and a police department, so the parking is very noisy all day and night, the garden area is quiet and nice with vegetation and the swimming pool access + shower for free , you can access the house toilet, staff is friendly

Ok for one night, there was a lot of traffic.

I was volunteering with Alma at her rural school in the mountains for a week (she is the only teacher in the school), it was wonderful as it sounds 😊🌳🏞️🧑‍🏫
she has also a small and very comfort house in Mogotes, which i stayed in during the weekend.
she love travelers and share culture and ideas, and there is a big secured beautiful yard in front of her house 🏡🛺
contact her to see if she's available 😊

Amazing meadow surrounded by trees on top of the hill. Generous space for a few rigs with picnic tables, trash bin and even a compost toilet. Had a great night. Maybe busy on weekends with picnicers during the day.

The last review is correct. Some homeless set up permanent camp in a dilapidated RV, so the police are now moving everyone out of here regularly. It's a shame some people have to ruin it for everyone. Expect a knock if you try to stay the night. There is super stealth camping all around in Pismo where you don't have to move your vehicle for 72 hours. Just don't make it obvious you are staying in your vehicle.

So I'm local to the area, this is a place I frequent on those tight budget weekends lol. I never have figured out who owns it but it's never been an issue for camping in the last 5 years. use at your own risk, quite dirty, often a dump area expect a mattress but the view is awesome the fishing is great. here right now may long weekend and it's a ghost town!
