Wildlife Management Area (Nebraska MWA) at Bassway Strip Wildlife Management Area. Free rv and tent camping for everyone, no fees charged, that is the reason it's 3 stars. Stay/camping limited to 3 days at a time as a general rule but, could be allowed longer. Check signage to verify or call # below. Nice area. Roads are gravel/dirt.
Note* As a rule: If you have questions or want to confirm the posed signage, call (402) 471-5531 for a Nebraska Game and Park conservation officer/ranger. All Nebraska WMA's are free to camp for everyone. Check signs as you enter for each WMA's specific's regulations, if there are any. If you want electrical and water hookups for rv's, you will need to go to a $pay fee "Nebraska State Park" or a city park, which are really nice but not free, like the free Nebraska WMA's.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Like others say, god for a quick stop off from i80. Will be at campsite within 2 minutes. Some road noise but honestly wasn’t bad considering how close to the Highway you are. Really only noticed when trucks would jake break, luckily not many did. Cute little pond/lake right there for fishing or short kayak trip. We actually broke our inflatable out. Be ready for lord of flies but overall good

Struggled a bit to find. Maybe address might help someone. Cool place.
Report Check-InI could not find the spot described above using the coordinates but we did find a large gravel area to stay for the night. So much quieter than a truckstop or a rest stop. No water or bathroom at this location.
Report Check-InCame here to around 1030 am to take shower since vehicle has shower cube. Quite a few trail walker and hiker walking by. Locals park their cars here too. May be too much disturbance during the day. After dark should be okay. would have been better parking at gravel pit on access road to this site. Sunday, nice and quiet there. photo is of gravel pit and gravel road to this site.
Report Check-InLittle lot next to a city wide trail system. Walked to the park 1.77 mi to use the bathrooms this morning. Tons of wildlife, and crosses the north plate river twice. It is right next to hwy 80 but fan drowned it out. There was another overlander van parked next to us. Overall quiet night, beautiful morning!
Report Check-InThere's a paved road back to the original spot marked with a gate saying "No Motor Vehicles," so you can no longer drive all the way back. But there's a small lot outside of the gate. Parked here for the night with any issues. Right against the highway so it can be pretty loud but a fan drowns the sound pretty well.
Report Check-InKearney Recreational Park campground. We are camping here to see the Great ,Sandhill Crane migration in March. The water is turned off, so prepare for that. Toilets are out house type. power hookup available. Very nice boardwalk to observation deck to see cranes coming in to roost in the Platte River. Covid precautions are encouraged.
