Gorgeous spot. On the edge of the city in a beautiful garden, lawn, nice flat and with good mobile coverage. Warmly recommended.

As everyone says, “no problem.” Most RVs were in the overflow lot which is farther from the freeway, but we were behind the hotel. Was fine. We were going to eat at the casino restaurant but every single item (except fries) had meat.

Nice campground with 75 camping spots some by the water. No one else camping when arrived. $10 per night $2 for each additional person. No showers or running water just toilets.

Was quiet until 1:45am when woken by someone revving a car engine, 2:00am car honking horn, 2:30am gunshots.. 2:45am car revving engine again. I left by 3:00am

We spent a day with Leo and it was wonderful ! We stayed overnight at the Balneario Indillamas and walked from there back over the bridge and left to the village.
He took us on a tour to the forest, explained a lot about medicinal plants, took us on a little Canoe tour, let us try blow dart and involved us in small ceremonies. We also had lunch and the kids danced for us. For a whole day we payed 25$ p.p. Since the money is for the community and is used for protecting and regrowing the forest, we didn’t want to negotiate. If you want to try Ayuhuasca or San Pedro, Leo needs a few days for preparation. Very nice jungle experience!

Completely empty campground but no sign stating closure. No fee envelopes as previously mentioned. I’m traveling solo and felt a bit creeped out so moved on but could be a good spot for a braver camper!

I stayed here two nights (not in a row). There were multiple other people both nights (around 6 or so), ranging from RVs to vans to cars. Everyone was quiet and it's distanced from any major roads so I didn't hear much road noise. Bless this Bass Pro Shops! Seems to be the best place in Colorado Springs.

15 designated campsites, clean, safe, beautiful views. Road in is great quality, some sites looked real muddy depending on weather. Fills up by sunset, saw several rigs looking for spaces after they were all full.

Arrived around 5pm and found 12 or more campers. Lots of room and we choose a river front lot. We took advantage of water and electricity for $28Can. Had eagles nesting across the river. Nice host couple and we’ll keep up.

Spent a couple of nights here: 2 people + 1 dog in a Ford Transit van.

Awesome vibes at this place. Marcos is super kind and you can tell this place is only going to keep improving.

We thought it was great for the price. We paid Q50 per night. I would recommend messaging Marcos ahead of time to make sure there is space to park. There is only enough space for 2-3 vehicles. Anything longer than a Ford Transit/Sprinter type van will probably not fit.

We loved:
-shower with great pressure
-flush and compost toilets with toilet paper
-drinking water!
-common area had a long table to work from
-full kitchen
-good spot to launch a paddle board (just have to wade through a bit of mud first)

There are loads of organic foods being grown, and we hope some day soon Marcos can offer whatever is in season for purchase 👍🏼 I saw loads of kale that I wanted to eat!

Marcos also does hiking tours, but we didn’t do any.

If you want to explore San Juan and San Pedro, I recommend stopping here and walking or taking a tuktuk into San Pedro. I drove all throughout San Pedro and one wrong turn puts you down the tightest roads I’ve ever driven. Plus you have to pay a Q5-10 town tax for each town, so you may as well leave your car and take a tuktuk.

San Juan has an amazing energy to it. Really friendly people all around the city. I felt like a local for the 2 days I was there.

Note: the parking area isn’t totally flat, but we leveled out easy enough with two maxtrax boards and angling at a 45 degree angle towards the hostel.

This place was a bit easy to miss from the road, and I ended up having to backtrack. I got there about 5 pm, and the first spot already had someone there. I was nervous about going up to the higher spots because I had like 0 offroading experience, but I ended up getting to the top spot with very little difficulty in my nissan rogue. Slept peacefully and had no one else around me. When I came back down the next morning at around 5 am, I noticed a total of 3 different car campers were all crammed into the spot at the bottom and no one else tried to come up the hill. Glad I went for it despite my nerves. I was a bit surprised so many people were there, even on a random Wednesday in May. Seems to be a very popular camping spot with the limited availability in the area and the proximity to the AMR parking area a couple minutes down the road. Definitely some road noise all throughout the night since it is right next to the road, but it wasn't bad. Absolutely no T-Mobile service.

Very good mechanic! He recognized the root case of our issues and repaired quickly (brakepads and cross mounting of the driveshift).
When you are at the place his spare parts shops is at the far right and joined by the wall by his workshop. Look for the spare parts shop, ask for Saud or whatsapp him.

Beautiful free campsite! It was so nice we ended up extending our stay here. Around 20 sites with pit toilets, bins, picnic tables and fire rings. We arrived on Wednesday ahead of the long weekend and manage to grab one of the last sites - first come first serve.

A 100% German hospitality experience in Ecuador. It was so nice to be here!

Hans is a very hard working German guy and well-known and appreciated host by everyone. The site has everything an overlander dreams of and a beergarten exactly like you’ll find in Germany. Mark our words - You’ll be deeply impressed by the German specility beer offerings and the food menu.

Many overlanders come here as you can see in the reviews and we’ve met some awesome fellow travellers. Definitely worth the stay if you are in the area.
