Obvious camping spot with probably 10 or so permanent residents running generators, but didn’t look horrible for single night. I didn’t stay here, but Kirkland is very safe. Hardly any road traffic.

Arrived late in a thunderstorm, but it was a quiet spot. One other van there before we arrived. There were a TON of bugs, specifically mosquitos. Amazing bike/walking trail nearby. Did we mention there were a lot of bugs?

Still ok to camp there, there was a lot of other small rigs there when I stopped. The toilets are still closed but there are pit toilets.

Toujours ok pour camper, il y avait plusieurs autres van quand je suis arrêtée. Les toilettes sont fermées mais il y a des toilettes chimiques.

We rocked up about 10pm and no joke…about 25 vehicles. Not sure if this was because there was a festival in town or Squamish is just that overrun with van/car camping. Still a great, quiet spot with no issues and quite clean, you’re just sleeping shoulder to shoulder.

One of the 3-4 pull-offs on this road. Nice spot to park with water on both sides. Water is a saline lake and is not potable even with filtering or boiling! Nice sunrise and sunset spot.

Small campsite tucked off of the main forest road. Large enough for 2, possibly 3 vehicles (trucks / vans). Someone towing a trailer may be able to turn around but it would be tough. Decent view of the mountain peak to the North. Small creek runs on east side of site. Established fire ring. No Verizon cell service.

Very friendly and helpful team, big camping store, safe place. Taxi to the city about 20 - 25 €, bus was difficult because of a strike.

Some grass near a quiet beach for tents. The upper park site is for camper vans, and is 100NOK. But certainly in winter because it's a ski station. In July we didn't have any problem, we were 5 tents. And you can enjoy the camper vans' facilities (there are toilets and water).
The place is quiet... the only noise was the sheeps that came to say hello.

A very nice fairly small camp site and hostel in the middle of a small Romanian village, very helpful owners and drinking water on tap.

An incredibly peaceful spot with good amenities and clean showers / loos

Facilities are not that bad, but the cold shower is a killer in such a fresh Reserve! 😅 Although very close to the gate and rangers camp it's a very wild campsite. We had zebras, impalas, elephants, giraffes around the camp and mongooses and an eland literally 1 meter from us. Beautiful sunrise with hot air balloons in the backdrop. Great Safaricom internet signal.

It's a grated gravel road but with large pieces of gravel making it a very long and noisy 80km to get to the Mara Triangle gate. There's nothing technical though. Just make sure you have some headache pills and you'll be fine.

As described, 4 sites and a small boat ramp. Pretty view of the lake from 2 sites. 2 other campers here when we arrived. Road is fine for our Winnebago View and plenty of room to turn around. One site looks to be occupied by a fairly long term person...they have flower pots! Surprised no updates since 2019. The doggie in the photo is Cleopatra...belongs to the nice couple also camping here. They are local and we are from Oregon!

Cycling from San Agustin to Mocoa I stopped here when it got dark. I knew about the place from friends and I had it on my gps. I made it just in time!
The family gave me a warm welcome and cooked some food for me as well. 🙏
A cold shower was great to shake the dust from the road :)
I had a really good night sleep in my tent with the sound of the water and frogs and occasional birds.
They do birdwatching here and it is apparently a really good location for it. The full name says it all!
Casa de ciclistas y avistamiento de aves.
I am a ciclista and about to leave but maybe should come back and give birdwatching a try 😅.
Please call ahead to book because they will prepare the place for your tent under the house since it is raining quite often and the places are limited! The terrain outside the house is not flat and not so suitable so it is not campsite in the traditional sense.
I very recommend this place.

Good free camp with drop toilet, fire pits and some benches. Road is pretty bumpy but we did it with our van. Some people with generators but quite at night.

It is a parking lot for a park and rec center.

During the afternoon the parking lot was crowded. After dark I came back. Nobody bothered me. There's some road noise at night. Picnic tables and cover pavilion areas plus trash cans.

This place! Highly recommended. The owners Ignacio and Carmen are so nice and welcoming. We extended our stay with 3 nights. Hot shower, toilets, hammocks and a really good restaurant (best pizza.) The place is close to Mindo but also close to the butterfly farm en the ‘cabla’s. You can leave the campervan en walk everywhere if you like. Safe place, nice dogs, nice labyrint. They also rent the sweetest houses and they look perfect (and clean.)

Perfect for birdwatching also!

Must pay park fee or have a park pass to access this dump station. there is a staffed kiosk you have to pass through in order to get to this campsite/ dump station so it is not technically free.

While there are signs that say potable water for the two spigots w/ hoses at the dump station, both spigots have had the handles removed implying they are not to be used. they are also housed in wooden boxes that are full of bees, beware!!

This place is wonderful! Lots of room, generally pretty quiet (a few drunk folks whooping it up one night near the bridge) and beautiful scenery. We parked further away from the bridge and absolutely loved it.
