This is called Juntura Hot Spring. Nice little spring. There was no one there when we arrived, a couple others came in later. The road was rough, but we made it to the end of the horseshoe in our civic. The river was high and fast, but not a problem to wade through. The island with the spring is covered with goat heads (plant that drops very sharp little spike balls) so wear shoes. We found the upper pond to hot, but down in the lower one on the river we could titrate to whatever temp we liked.

Big gravel parking lot with marked sites. Not a lot of privacy, but fine for what we needed. Had a fire pit, pit and flush toilets & hot showers at the far end of the campground. They provide envelopes for you to fill out a form & leave your $20 cash in the box. There was an on-site host as well. We were content, especially since there were not other options in the area.

Large area for multiple rigs (I’d guess 6-8 depending on how everyone parked), couple of fire rings and overall it’s really well kept. Incredible view of the stream which can be accessed by a nice footpath. 4-wheel drive isn’t necessary, however a higher clearance vehicle is 100% required because of the potholes getting to the camp site. Entering the campsite it’s a squeeze, we fit with our GX460, but anything much larger than a standard vehicle will be tight.

easy to access but would personally determine this as a good sleeping spot, rather than somewhere to hang out for a day or two. it's not somewhere to paddle or swim. there was human poop on site at my arrival.... but was at the least grateful for a quiet napping location in the shade for a little while . thank you for the pin.

A dirt road leading less than 1km away from the highway takes you to this quiet spot. Forest on one side, pastures on the other. Very quiet, friendly farmers drove by and didn't mind. No signs indicating any legal issues.
The dirt road leads to three separate pastures. Very quiet, legal, free, no infrastructure whatsoever.
Big rigs: If the dirt road is okay for you to drive, the spot will be more than fine. You can turn around.

Nice parking lot for the night. Fills in early with hikers and bikers. Well shaded except for noon hours. Not big enough for any pull-behinds though.
Pit toliet on site and very cold creek not far down the road.

Pretty large, most flat BLM space next to a little creek and perfect for any type of traveler. Has a really nice and safe fire pit but PLEASE follow local fire regulations. There’s also a little trail that leads you directly to the pct. you can see hikers on their way from the spot. Safe, quiet, peaceful. We stayed here for the full 14 days without being bothered or anything.

I want to note that when we first got here this place was kind of trashed. It looked like a big family stayed here for a long and left a lot of trash, hurt a lot of the trees, etc. All I was to say is please respect this land when you stay here and clean up after yourselves.

As others have said, this is a very nice place. Before coming here we stayed at camping Los Angeles en camping Bernabé, but for us this was the best of the three by far. Friendly staff, good food in the restaurant and free coffee all day. Not too many other people, even on independance day. The toilets do have seats and toilet paper and are cleaned several times a day. We stayed for seven nights. There are not many places in the shade though, only if you park right next to the restaurant, which is also where the locals park that come during the day. So we parked a little to the left in the sun. For tent camping there is a big thatched roof next to the toilet building where you can put your tent in the shade. The only downside I can think of is the music at the beach bar which can be a bit loud. It stops at around 10 pm though, so not a big problem for us.

Great base camp for planning a tour in the cordilliera bianca and/or have a rest. We left our 2 bicycles and gear in a locked room while trekking a few days and felt very secured about it. We spent 4 peaceful nights under our tent (15sol per person per night) with access to all facilities (hot shower, electricity,…) and enjoyed beautiful view from the rooftop. Eric is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Update on our tent! The tent was found some distance from our camp..apparently dragged away by a hyena. Staff went out of their way to locate us and bring the tent to us in Kasane! Incredibly helpful staff and community. A happy ending.

Most certainly a very nice and convenient campsite. Lots of space from campsites. Flush toilets and a donkey for showers. We stayed two nights, the donkey fired up failed to provide hot water and on both evenings we let the shower run for more than 5 minutes before not even luke warm water came out. Also water pipes were exposed at places above the ground at the camp area and were leaking. The tiny pool is knee deep with several chlorine tablets at the bottom. The water is stagnant as the petrol pump right next to the pool was not working. Material on the two sunbeams were tattered and falling apart. Bottom line is, price per person per night was N$300.00! Personally I found this to be way over the top, N$600.00 per night for the two of us! Not again. Staff were very helpful and we brought our concerns to their attention.

This is what they call a hidden gem! We had an unbelievable night at this waterhole. From 16.00h we had an unbelievable amount of elephants and zebras around and in the late night we saw hyenas and lions walking around. Awesome spot, thank you for adding!

A bumpy and pot hole filled access road. Go slow and you can make it, we did in a Promaster and Vanagan.
Great westerly view. On top of a hill. Windy.
Access to the wharf is a bit more difficult. We walked down an watched the tide go out.
