Easiest border crossing in Africa ever (unsure if we just got lucky, or that it's always like this, but we'll take it)!

Steps:
1 - show proof of vaccination
2 - get visa (I paid 50 USD for the Zim/Zam multi entry visa, Dutch nationality)
3 - pay 50 USD for the commercial vehicle costs (Hilux with alucab roof tent), and another 50 USD for the 3rd party insurance, road tax and carbon tax.

There are runners that the 3rd party insurance goes through, it's weird but legit. They just look like regular fellows in t-shirts without uniforms and walking outside of the office, so if feels dubious, but many safari operators mention the above-mentioned costs, so either it's a scam that everyone is included in... or legit.

150 dollars makes one of the more expensive countries to entry, but everything went with smiles, jokes and interest, and generally easy going vibes. Much more organized than Zambia.

Just make sure you have dollars coming in.

We are not part of the harvest host but no problem at all to stay here for sleeping. You have to register on the Ipad in the shop and that’s it! Nice staff, quiet parking. Other rv and van here but enough room for everybody. Free Wifi in the shop. Lots of animals at the entrance like a small zoo! Great spot!! Thank you!

Stayed here for the night in my 30 foot rv. Felt safe. Some traffic noise but not bad since I was only here 10pm-7am. There was a hiking trail but lots of ticks..

We stayed here for 4 days. It’s the off season so it was nice and quiet. Hot showers and bathrooms were pretty clean. They have a hand washing laundry station and a clothes drying rack out behind the community space building. Good wifi, kitchen with stove sink and fridge but no utensils or pots/pans. Cost $400r total for 2 people and a motor home for 4 nights.

Great street spot, quiet nice neighborhood, not bothered at all, free on weekends, 2hr parking during the week. Eastern state penitentiary walls on one side, houses on the other. Very close to great bars, coffee, and food. Would only park small rigs here

The machines are old. The rolling baskets are rusty and grimy. Wash is $2.50 and dryer is .25 for 3 minutes. A written sign says it takes at least 1/2 hour to dry per load. Small parking lot.

I parked near BWW’s in the Macy’s lot. I didn’t see any signs anywhere, and there are lots of different lots around the mall area. Several restaurants, I chose Buffalo Wild Wings. Seems pretty quiet for a one night stay. I didn’t have any issues.

As noted in the previous review, the water spigot is on the building past the Chill Zone. We pulled up to the side of the building labeled “staff” and filled all of jugs here. Worked out great to top off before our ferry to Newfoundland.

The Children Of Zion Village is an orphanage next to the beautiful Zambezi River.
We were camping next door and heard singing & laughing and walked over to investigate. I found this wonderful orphanage with 53 children on site! We were invited to their village church on Sunday and made friends with the directors.
Their main sponsor is the Mount Zion Church in Maryland USA, but are always in need of some donations. We made a brief documentry about the location and left a donation.
*Note, this is not a tourist attraction or a place to stay, this is the home of 50+ children.
*We were never asked to make a donation, but such an organization would likely appreciate any help you might offer.

Absolutely beautiful, quiet and sage place right on the lake below Quilima. Follow the dirt road through the village, the last 200 m are quite rough. 4x4 recommended, but not required, except in rainy season. Wide area for camping, but careful: soft and hard sand patches - check on foot beforehand! Yesterday i pulled out two family cars wiith my winch 😎 entel coverage

There were 9 RVs on the near side of the dam and only one truck camper on the far side. There one vault toilet on each side - take your own light even in daytime and hand sanitizer. The toilet was clean with plenty of toilet paper and no smell. We heard no noise from other campers. Turns out this is a birding hotspot - about 30 pelicans, so it must be good for fishing too. Also a couple types of swallows, red winged blackbirds, herons, eared grebes, some ducks and geese.

Very friendly people. Went for a self-wash and nail trim, but they only have self-serve dog wash Tues-Fri. :( The gal who did my lil-guys’ nails was amazing with him; it was the calmest he’s ever been for a trim. Be aware though that if you pay with card they charge an extra $5.

A lovely maintained site with blue swimming pool and impeccably clean. We came to camp but ended up opting for family room (sleeps 5; 1600 pula). Incredibly friendly hosts with a cosy bar and restaurant offering a set menu for dinner with traditional South African farmer fare. Recommended.

As stated. Camping is USD 20/ pula 240 pp - half price for children. Friendly hosts. Campsite is very basic, but you are truly in the bush between animals.

We did the rhino tracking with San Bushmen running ahead of the vehicle to read the tracks and locating one of the rhinos. 250 pula each- also the children. On Wednesday and Saturday you can watch them feed the predators they are rehousing 150 pula each.

NOTE: they are 60km from the main road on a sandy track and there are 17 gates to open and close. Be prepared for a 2-3 hour diversion.

NOTE: The campsite is located very far from the lodge.
