Really a great place! There are some ponds with lots of birds, ducks and turtles, some benchs and a fountain. Perfect for pitching you tent between the trees in the shore of a pond, and maybe take a bath to wash your sweat!

Easy border, 10 minutes on each country. You can park on the side of the road before each building on each side and then you drive between buildings for around 5 minutes

10 minute border, very easy and well signaled.

We recommend filling up your car on the Argentinian side as gas is way cheaper there

Beautiful quiet spot near the lake. Lots of space for campers. No facilities, but there is a large trash bin.

Overnight parking just fine. No one bothered me and I was able to park next to a nice grassy area for my pup.

NO overnight parking. Signed all along the perimeter. One hour parking only for customers. That’s OK I went across the street to Loves and was able to park all night with no problem.

Great location, very quiet besides a few cars driving by throughout the night.
However, there was a lot of broken glass shards and bullet casings, misc litter.

We liked this campsite the best. #1 is closest to the waterhole, and number 3 and 4 are deep in and very private bushcamps, but #2 has the view over the valley and is our favorite.. beautiful to see plains game and ellies walking by. We also had ellies in camp at night and 3 fresh sets of leopard tracks (mom and cub and a male in another direction ) tracks just outside of camp on the main road. So there is a lot around, as always be cautious.

the waterhole is beautiful and was full at this time with a lot of calm game and easy viewing

Mauritania -> Senegal with Bicycle

arriving at the border, I gave my last fiche to the police man at the first building. then they sent me directly to the last building. (I didn't pay the 100 MRU tax)

I gave my passport to the police men there. He took it, stamped me out and returned my passport after 2 minutes. (didn't ask me for any money)

I crossed the bridge. I didn't pay the toll with the bicycle. I went to the police building on the right sight. they took my thumb prints into the system and gave me the entry stamp

all together one of the easier border crossings so far. took me around 15 minutes. I arrived around noon and was almost the only one there

Next to building of the SCL and around 1,5km after the border crossing to Senegal, there is a place with some public water taps. It’s extra written, that it’s for drinking.

Besides that, there are two small buildings with toilets and showers.

A few parking lots to choose from, I spent my night in the one adjacent to the lot with the bathroom (the middle lot?) and wasn't bothered. The river that runs through was a nice bonus; will stay here again if passing through the area.

Beautiful quiet campsite, suitable for large vehicles. Clean bathrooms, hot water, water to fill the tank, everything neat. Nice spacious place to stand. With light and electricity and parilla. The welcome is also friendly.

Everything ok again here. Last 400 metres before you enter the lake from the mainroad is not paved. No need for 4wd or clearance. The unpaved track looks quite narrow, but it is wide enough for medium sized rigs. Just before you cross the little dam in the lake there is room enough to turn if necessary. Just after the dam you'll find a meadow. We decided to camp there. We stayed for three nights. Peaceful. The picknick area is another 200 meters further away. It has a parking, but the picknick area is not accessible for cars.

There was nobody when we arrived around 6PM. We made dinner at the parking lot in front of the camping. The lady showed up later and explained everything. She was friendly. We paid at the cafeteria by card, 5000 per person and 1000 per car. Cafeteria was full of cigarrette smoke. Camping area itself is not very big but it’s nice. Showers were hot and you can do the dishes in the bathroom’s sink, it has hot water.

The engine of our VW van was making a lot of noise and I asked Jurgen to check if the spark plugs were screwed in properly. He did it and everything was ok. He said we need to look into the problem and that I can call him on Monday (it was Thursday when I went to see him) to see if he has availability during the week. We went to see Elias who took us straight away. In short, if you are in a hurry to repair your car, do not come to Jurgen

Be careful not to follow Google Map but turn right from San Cris as soon as you see a huge sign indicating the road to the park. 10 pesos for entry, 25 for camping. We were very, very cold and moved to Walmart for the rest of our stay 🤗

Got arrested at the permanent police control, they wanted to make me pay a fine because I stopped on the stop line and not before. They talked to me for 20-30min until they understood I will not bribe them. They made up things about a big fine, going to court and suspending my driving license, blablabla.
