This is a rocky, slightly sloped site with a view of Ubehebe just off the dirt road that goes down to Teakettle Junction. Tent camping is doable, but probably more suited to RTT camping. Very quiet after the sun started to set, but lots of traffic during the day. Saw some bats here at night. Superb night skies.

Sign at start of road says “No Camping for 2 Miles.” This is a bit different than the 1 mile off pavement in other parts of the park. This spot is exactly 2 miles from the sign, so it is the first legal place along this section. There is a second spot about a 1/4 mile up, that is bigger and flatter. Both of these sites can be difficult to drive into depending on how the road grader has pushed the sides.
