dkruis27 | Really great spot to spend a night while traveling through Alabama. The staff at the welcome center are very nice. They did tell me that staying for one night is totally fine & even told me I would be safe because of the security guard & highway patrol that comes through regularly. The signs are meant to deter people from setting up camp in their lot for an extended time. Pretty quiet for a rest area, huge parking area, water bottle filling station inside for handheld bottles. |

asobolife.com | Excellent place to get out of the heat and great views over the city. Christian/Walter (same person!) is kind and loves to receive fellow overlanders. We loved his yard with lots of green grass and refreshing pool. $15pp and he accepts USD, Argentine pesos (at current blue rate), and Chilean pesos. Got to try his eggplant lasagna, which was mind-blowing. Good WIFI. Potable water. Clean bathrooms and hot water shower. There are 4 dogs on site. And while they are individually super friendly, they can get a bit overwhelming when together in a group. If traveling with a dog or cat, it’s good to be cautious. But we’d stay here again regardless! |

duggmann | This is NOT Arthur B. Ripley SP. ABR SP is to the south of 138 and is fenced off to vehicles, and vehicle camping is not allowed. THIS free dry camping spot is just north of 138 and off the road (210th St W) that leads out to a huge solar farm. The pinon and joshua tree forested area is just to the left of 210 St W and has numerous trails with a lots of dumped junk, but you can find areas to camp. I drove out here in a 25' class C no problem. Pull far enough in and behind trees that you're not visible from 138 or 210th. Road noise is minimal and there is OK cell signal (T-Mobile). This is a fine overnight stop. |

The Flyway Effect | We stayed here for two night on our 25’ skoolie. We had no issues getting in or getting out. The road itself is easy and flat. There was SO much trash, broken glass and other large pieces of debris. Kinda appears that it is a dumping ground of sorts. It’s close to the south entrance of Petrified Forest so it was worth it for a day or two. We were visited by cows during the night. Four bars TMobile |

thibodude | Perfect quiet night. Not recommended for large RV because of the road bump at the entrance. I'm 19.5ft so it's ok |

17daystransit | We were welcome by Lupa, what a nice guy ! He offered us to do the tour by ourselves or be guided by him. We chose to do the guided tour. Lupa is very passionate about nature and cactuses. We've tip him 100mx/person for the great visit. He told us we were more than welcome to stay overnight in the parking lot if needed but we did not. Positive experience ++ |

freetgoesworld | Amazing wildcamping spot. Many, many overlanders lined up along the beach. 50m from beach at abandoned hotel. Feels totally safe with so many others and area in general. A little far from the actual bays, but walkable.

lauracann1 | We loved our stay here. The beach is pretty much deserted in the mornings and great for a run. The site has flush toilets that are kept clean and a couple of showers that are cold but have great pressure. Watch out for scorpions though 😬 |

jordi-nena | We were towed here after a oil hose came off in the middle of nowhere. I asked the tow guy to bring us here because of the last positive comment. It was sunday 6 oclock. And they immediately started to fix our car. An hour later we were on the road again for 15.000 pesos (37,5€). Son and father did a good job. |

Brenda & Martin | Easy to find. St. Elena is a quaint quiet town. Our contact was Denise for the RV park, we used What's App +52 984 270 2084. We enjoyed Charly's Restaurant which was a nice surprise to have some favorite Swiss specialties. Ask Denise for what's around the area. She helped us go to the Quesart Cheese Maker. The RV park is building new shower and bathrooms which will be done soon. The shower was hot but the access in the new building will be a bonus for RV site. |
