Nice state park, it was a bit crowded for this time of year in the camping area, but the no hookup sites were sparsely occupied. I managed to get a campsite that was pretty isolated from other campers since I am in a minivan and didn't need electricity or water. price was fairly reasonable at $23 including tax and entrance fees. It rained really hard that night and the tent pad area for the site I was in, flooded 3-4 inches deep. Luckily I wasn't in a tent, I stayed in my minivan so I stayed dry. Beautiful Spanish moss covered live oaks throughout the park.

Came in for group camp on Camp 99-150RV not allowed on group camp but they gave me a parking ticket to park in any undeveloped camp spot. Found a spot camp 88-99.

Beautiful place to camp. Large area with numerous activities. Wish we had our bikes to utilize the facilities more as it is so large. There is a lake, beach, picnic area, large fields and so much more. Would definitely stay again. Great for the price also! Around $20

A great park with some beautiful water access. Enjoyed our stay, and was 50% off for seniors.

Awesome 2800 acre park on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. Only about 40 minutes from the heart of New Orleans via the Causeway Bridge.
At one time, this park was a sugar plantation owned by Bernard de Marigny de Mandeville. Lost of history here.
Over 125 camping spites available for everything from primitive tent camping to sites with full hookups available for RV's. The cabins on the lake have been closed since receiving damage from hurricane Ida in 2021. There's also a handfull of Tentrr sites if you're looking for a glamping experience.
If you're travelling through and want to rest for a while, there's a large day use area available. $3 per person for day use. Head to the pavilion in the middle of the park to recharge your electronics. Several outlets available. There's also a few hose bibbs at the pavilion where you can top off your water tanks if needed.
Head to the beach area to take a dip in the lake to cool off during the summer. Or f you have kids with you, they'll enjoy the splash pad right near the beach area.
Lots of picnic tales, most with BBQ pits, where you can cook up a quick lunch or just take a nap in the shade.
If you're staying overnight at one of the sites, there's shower houses within a short walk of most sites. Nice hot water.
There's a couple of nature trials you can enjoy while there as well. Some of the Alligator Boardwalk was damaged during hurricane Ida as well. Not sure when that section will be repaired but the other trials are open to enjoy.
This is south Louisiana. Be sure to bring insect repellant.
Dog friendly as long as you have them on a leash and pick up after them.
There's a couple of videos on YouTube featuring a drive through the camp grounds nad other areas.

Lovely spot. No bookings but there was heaps of space despite there being heaps of people camping. $25 for an 'unimproved' site which has a BBQ, fire pit, picnic table, rubbish bin, and sealed driveway (which can be camped on). Free Wi-Fi! Minimal lighting, so nice and dark. Our site #37 was a LONG way from the toilet/shower block so check on the map before being allocated a spot. You can get a power/water site for more money.
