ptattenberg | behinde the Vishnu temple, in front of the Templeguesthouse. Good to park. Really impressive temple and possible to walk around (outside temple) with your dog. Straydogs around but no problem. Really nice villagers. You could stay in the guesthouse, we gor a tour, looked pretty ok. The temple offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. |

thurmability | Crossed from Tanzania into Malawi on bicycles. We had our e-visas in electronic format which was enough. The whole process was relatively painless but quite slow, it took 90 minutes in total, about 30/60 split between leaving Tz and entering Mw.

TheWhiteWhale | This place is 10/10! The road is paved for the first 45km. The last 20km or so are pretty rough. If you are worried about the condition about your vehicle I would not come down here. There are several side roads that run along side the main road and most of them are way better than the main road. They all rejoin together so you can’t get lost on them. Antonio’s is still in the early season so there is no restaurant until February but camping is available with clean toilets and showers. We paid $100/person for camping per night. Whale watching is $60USD or $1200 MP per person. Paulo was our guide with Luis as our driver. They both have 10+ years on the water and are incredible. We were worried about the ethics of what whale watching would be like here but they do an incredible job of responding to the whales behaviour to keep them comfortable. We had a curious calf but mom wasn’t yet ready to visit with us but we got to spend some incredible time with her and her calf. We watched a group courting without disturbing them. As the season goes on the whales get friendlier but for us this experience surpassed our wildest expectations. |

Rob Adams | An established Auberge where you can park overnight and take meals. Access to toilets and showers if paying to camp. Parking area is concrete outside the main building. Terrace with views over a small lake. In the middle of a large mountain recreation area. On the drive through the woods you will come across troops of monkeys on the road side waiting to be fed. Some well maintained dirt roads in the area suitable for 4x4 driving. |

crxyxukimxihdui | Great large parking lot with long RV spaces. Can stay up to three nights. Can even run a generator until 10 PM. Check in with security, located right next to the entrance doors. They will encourage you to go to the “Bonus Center” to redeem free gambling credits, but you doing that requires that you let them enter your ID entered into their system, and the gambling card you get does not give you any free plays, it just adds a few credits for things like discounts at the restaurant, and the extra credits don’t start to accrue until after you gamble with your own money. |

martabtravassos | we crossed with Chilean plates (Portuguese with RUT) but the aduana guy didn't want to let us pass although we had the declaración jurada and the authorization from the owner to leave the country (since we bought it recently it's still not in our name). but we made it through after a bit of arguing and showing him the law. it was very crowded, stayed there for three hours, arrived at 11 am. |

HaveVanWillTravel | Non-electric sites $16, electric $22. There does not appear to be an off-season rate anymore. No water available in the winter. Snowed a few inches overnight, there was a plow in the morning workimg the road and clearing some of the gravel pads. Beautiful spot. We've driven by this campground several times in the summer- crowded and not much privacy between sites. Our winter stay was pleasant with only a couple of other campers. |

takethelastflightout.com | Spacious grassy camping with scattered trees, very quiet and peaceful. Lots of birdlife and song. Near a creek but this is small and not accessible bar a couple of small paths through thick bush. Some walking tracks leave from here. Clean long drops, water taps and fireplaces (no firewood supplied). $14 a night for 2. Lots of commercial campsites in Goomburra Valley before national park and can get on river banks. Dirt for last section and a bit rough but OK with 2WD slowly.

Melanie Guillaume | Great place to stay close to Yuma (just 10 min from downtown, be aware that in Yuma most of the RV parks are for 55+ years old). Very nice and friendly hosts. Nice, clean, and really hot shower/bathroom; pool and hot tub; quiet and peaceful; mix of long-term and short-term residents. The spaces are fairly big (bigger than most RV resorts around) with full hookups, and they have Passport America discount. What else can you ask for? |
