You can camp on the Southern end with a small tent (ask the owner of the Tavern) or with a camper on the Northern end (lots of toilet paper in the bushes). Fresh water shower on the beach. Rocky beach but wonderful water.

Hose next to the dog kennels to the left of staff area. Super buggy but easy to find! Watch for trams coming through if you come during open hours.

Was going to sleep here for the night but was told by a ranger it’s not allowed. I stopped at this parking lot again a few days later and noticed tickets on an rv for staying the night there. If you go deeper into canyon moser creek trail head is more hidden from main road. Or there are a few great designated campsites that are free throughout the canyon

Great site with alpine Meadow with several dispersed sites around the perimeter. A herd of deer grazing came within 10 feet of me. Amazing 360 degree Mountain View’s. Go way up past the day use areas and away from the private land. Road was pretty rough, 4WD only

a parking lot to climb White Butte, the highest point in North Dakota. it's an easy climb. This is on private land. great cell service. no other amenities. there is a cash donation box to pay for the use of the land geared towards hikers. but I gave a little extra since I spent the night.

they have a change their rules that you can only access showers from 7 a.m. till 11 p.m. Unless you are a truck driver. You need a Class 1 drivers license to access at any time. That's regardless if it's busy or not

Be careful! Bots does not allow you to leave without a PCR test if you are not South African! Silly.

Robinet in the city, you can fill up with a jerrican but not easy otherwise because you can park just front of. Not perfect but hard to find something else in the area.
Luckily we found a parking place at 10m in front of the laboratory (by the way, pcr and antigenic test available, don't come to late noon).
Kaufland at 5 minuts too.

It was pretty full with big trailers full of locals who look like they have been here a while. They kindly made room for us though and we had a lovely spot overlooking the water.
The generator from one of the big trailers went on for several hours but otherwise it was quiet.
It’s perfectly fine for an overnight and maybe even an extra day of exploring if the weather is good.

Here’s the address for the only place you can get auto or RV propane on this side of the island! 67 old Bonne Bay Road. Deer Lake.
We talked with a local van owner and he confirmed that none of the gas stations on this side of the rock have auto propane filling stations other than this place.
I included the address because I’m not sure if the GPS coordinates supplied by someone else are the correct ones for this particular station.
Follow the address, not the GPS coordinates.
They stop serving propane at dark.

stopped here for a one-night stay. arrived around 8pm, lots of cars. but by 9:30 all were gone. security truck rolled by around 10pm and stopped on the other side of the lot for one hour but never bothered us. gorgeous trails, super quiet. keep it clean, quiet, and respectful and I don't think anyone will bother you here.

Wasn’t able to go all the way to this spot as there was a gate blocking the road about a mile and a half up from the location however found another spot just at the gate. Nice spot for the night. Didn’t see another person. Super quiet. Great stargazing easy to and from the Highway. Would stay again.

Spent two nights and days at this 4500 ft elevation. 50° nights and 80° days. Great place to be in August. Electricity and water available. Stayed in site 71, level, pic nic table. Relatively private because sites are terraced on a hill.
71 would likely not fit a trailer or RV longer than 28 ft. Ours is a 22 ft.
Spectacular vista's and adventure hiking trails. The road South is sencic and leads to Bakersville, where you'll find some of NC's best potters. A coupld of very good art/craft galleries, Intandem is worth the drive from Roan.

Had to email for a permit with the coordinates but one checked it. The gravel turn about was right off a trial so I enjoyed a great hike! Was only one there for a good while but woke up next to a lady in a converted mini van. 10/10 recommend this spot especially if you don’t want any cell service to unplug ! Make sure to stop at the look out !
