Road in was challenging, then hit a deep washout and couldn’t go further in our vehicle. High clearance 4x4 will be fine. Class A won’t make the steep rutted hill on the way in.

Crossed the border from Brownsville to Matamoros around 7:30AM today (Sunday) expecting it to be a relatively safe time to make a transit south. Just after passing through centro I was boxed in by three vehicles that forced me into a parking lot and was confronted by a group of armed men identifying themselves as cartel members. I kept all the doors locked and only one window down partially but they kept trying to open all the doors to get in. They were demanding $700USD and after some discussion and trying to convince me to go to a bank with them but accepted the $400USD that I had on me and then sent me on my way. This happened in broad daylight without a single police or military officer to be seen in the whole town. Be extremely cautious transiting this area.

Passed through here and luckily the transitó officer was busy pulling over another vehicle but my foreign plates most definitely drew his attention away

this is 12 mile, as the locals call it. some don't care, but some get uppity about folks staying here. a mile up the road at the next spot (13 mile) is more hospitable of an area. this spot is used by local fisherman. so they tend to be a bit on edge, but knowing most, harmless.
id try to avoid using it even though I know most folks in the area.
this county (Franklin ) is the most corrupt legally. they will violate your rights if you do not know them.
I'm a very honest fellow. I call it like I see it.
trust me, go up the road a mile. be safe.

Hospedaje with a large central courtyard and rooms along the side, and shared bathroom. Towels provided, good WiFi and even TV should that be of interest. Breakfast is served and included in the price. Special price for cyclists. Bicycles can be parked in the courtyard. The owner, Gustavo is very friendly and welcoming. He let us use the restaurant space to cook our meals as well.
Very clean and comfortable. We ended up staying two nights. Highly recommended! Paid ARS16.000, normally 18.000.

Beautiful little place to stay overnight. No good for big rig, just for 2 or 3 cars, vans, Truckcampers or class C, I would say. It is located in a residential area but very quiet when we were there. No issues at all.

It is 7 km rough road but it was easy for our Sprinter 4x4. High ground clearance needed at one point, the rest is ok for standart vehicles. It may be hard if it is wet though. There was a standard tourist minibus at the parking lot of the Valley.

Nice spot, free campground by a lake. We stayed one night in our 30’ 5th wheel and pickup. Plenty of spots big enough for a truck and trailer. The freeway noise is loud but not bad.

Extremely clean, new machines. Some credit card and some coin. Room in the lot for camper vans but probably not big rigs. Probably can find street parking. Someone inside cleaning constantly.

Great spot very close to Deschutes River, Mill District etc. Several vans parked at night and gone during the day. No one seems to be bothered by it. There's a mix of apartment buildings and offices and very little traffic.

Added benefit: free open guest WiFi from Horizon Line Personal Training that reaches out to the street and a little bouldering spot and trails around that big dirt pit

the flat area is limited to next to the little pagoda. it's still not super level if you care about such things. plenty big to stay at for larger vehicles with big trucks stopping to use the pit toilets. construction on the bridge right now but not impeding passage at all

Yes, there are hot springs .5 of a mile from the visitor center at the cliff dwellings BUT! If you want a pristine, almost spa like oasis, this is your spot! Three very clean springs and an extremely accommodating host. The vibe is impeccable and will be a highlight of your Gilla experience.

Open in August 2023, Kruja Vista Camping is the perfect place for camping in Kruja among the ancient olive trees under. Located in a hill of Kruja it offers you a full panorama of the city, mountains, castle and the .
The city center and all the touristic places are 20 min walking distance from the camp, also 200m from the camp is the station for urban transport.

Carpark with toilets open all the time. Allowed to stay the night because it is a rest area.

Campsite not very far from sea. You can walk to the beach easely.
You have to pay for electricity or use plugs in common places.

Nice flat place just near the sand Road.
It’s shorter to come through the road of the red dunes then the one with the other wild camp.

we have stayed here with a big group many times over the years. park the truck just along the way but cars/ campers can get in.

We've been stopped here while going to the marshlands coming from Kuwait. They told us to go to Basra or Nassiriya and from there to the marshes, basically using only the main roads.

Restaurant and swimming pool

lots of choices on the menu, some cheap some expensive. it's more of a high end restaurant with lots of wine, beer and spirits choices (as well as cocktails)

My partner had a chicken Alfredo pasta which was delicious and I had shredded beef with jollof rice. Big portions bit with some drinks came to 30,000 Naira
Some food could be ordered for as little as 4000 but lots of the dishes are around 9000-15,000 for a main.

Salads and vegetarian options also available. Some of most choice we have seen! They even have a swimming pool and music playing

No problem staying the night in my camper van. A few other camper vans were there. Toilets were clean.

Lovely big shaded campsite. Clean ablutions, laundry (with tokens), swimming pool, and even a playground for kids. We paid R430 for 2 adults and 1 child, in rooftop tent.

Free water from the tap with long hose and good pressure

Lovely place right next to Lake Malawi. Owner Alfred is very friendly and helpful. Very serene environment. Beach is pristine. Water level was a bit higher due to rain. Rooms have electricity and running water. Mosquito net and a fan and additional water cooler. Restaurant and bar at the location. Great place to unwind.

si vous voulez venir à Ushuaïa en période hivernale, il faut savoir que dans toute la terre de feu argentine, il faut avoir du matériel obligatoire à partir d'une date fixée par les autorités (pour 2024, c'est le 1er mai). On a entendu parler de chaînes à neige et de pneus cloutés, mais on ne sait pas exactement ce qui est obligatoire. En tout cas, les policiers et les gendarmes effectuent des contrôles! Ce point correspond au col de Garibaldi, point le plus haut juste avant de redescendre sur Ushuaïa.

If you want to come to Ushuaïa in winter, you should know that throughout Argentina's Tierra del Fuego, you must have compulsory equipment from a date set by the authorities (for 2024, it's May 1st). We've heard of snow chains and studded tires, but we don't know exactly what is mandatory. In any case, the police and gendarmes carry out checks! This point corresponds to the Col de Garibaldi, the highest point just before descending to Ushuaïa.
