A kanu paddling tour with the mandatory is 5 USD pP. It's very interesting and we saw birds, monkeys and caymans.

You can camp in the tents of the community or in one of the (at the moment) very basic cabañas. It's 45 USD pP for staying overnight, the paddlingtour, meals and community activities/ getting to know their tradition and history.

They don't allow to camp in your own tent/ vehicle any more due to some problems with previous overlanders!
It's also not allowed to swim there (caymans/ anacondas!).

We really enjoyed the paddling tour. It's about two hours. Best to go there early in the morning, then you'll see much more wildlife!
If you call upfront the community they also provide night tours!

Stayed up in the far corner, not level but pretty good for a nights stay. I asked inside and no issue as long as we were far away from parking spaces. We were over by Walmart but to far out of level. Gas station, Tim Hortons & fast food just down the road.

Nice place! Good pizzas and beers, close to the river and quiet place.

Gas station plus motel and camping. $50 for electric and water. We got a spot with a view of the lake. Laundry and showers also available (unsure of cost).

Great food, cool comfortable place to eat. had the vegetarian lasagne, massive portion

Pretty smooth. Arrived by train. opposite corner of the square where you enter from the train is where you first get your ,'queue' ticket. pretty quick. Need your passports , given time to return, 4pm for us. at 4pm a gentleman started calling the numbers and fortunately we were in the first 30 or so. Guided into the building, chairs to sit on. we were able to get the ticket times we wanted and were done within 25mins. cost 152 sols per person. very appreciative of correct change. Outside the building is a map of the 4 routes. very helpful to make your decision before you enter.

As described. Quiet, not bothered. Low profile van but not totally stealth on account of solar panels.

3 Palpa's on the beach. Full power $53/night. Close to town. Nice restaurant/bar. Many other sites including tent sites. Verizon and ATT reception ok. Typical wifi if you are close to office ok but slow. Starlink speed phenomenal.

Illegal camping spot

Both communal and private campsites. Private campsites are 300 NAD pppn, which is far too expensive for what you get. The private ablution was full of mosquitos and could benefit from some tlc, sites are right next to each other, the pool was opaque, full of flies, and had a very strong chlorine smell. The restaurant was ok, but nothing special. On Saturday evening, there was loud music coming from the village.
