Description

Nice place to stay a night. A lot of RV's there. But amazing sunrise with a view on The Golden Gate Bridge. A little noise because of the road next to it at about 5:00 AM. Access from and directly at road 101.

This is a formal rest area where sleeping is allowed and legal for up to 8 hours. It's good for a night or two, but not a place to settle and make it a campsite. the view is absolutely amazing and there are toilets open 24 hours. Just be aware that the place gets packed during the day and even during the night there are photographers and others around. Enjoy!

Yes… perfect spot for visiting the city by the bay.
We pulled in at noon on a sunny Monday to find plenty of parking spots left.
We rode our bikes across the bridge and spend the rest of the day by the ward, then took the ferry back to Sausalito.
Around 8pm it was pretty much all cleared out and we had our choice of the best , flattest spot with the best view.
Thanks IOverlander peeps.

Report Check-In

Very nice place with a gorgeous view ! we will return

Report Check-In

This place has an incredible view! Several vans already parked and appear to be asleep. The highway noise is pretty significant but mostly a constant rumble with the occasional loud vehicle. Bathrooms are kinda of nasty but open with running water. There has been a police vehicle circling the lot regularly. Be aware of all the signs warning about smash and grab thefts. Don’t leave anything within view.

I really do love this view!!!

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot. Awful bathrooms at night though, cleaner ones open up during the day. Spent two nights here in my RV. Loud until about 1am each night but it is also Halloween weekend. They have a bus stop here and hop-on-hop-off SF bus stop which made it incredibly easy to go into the city and explore. Highly recommend!

Report Check-In

what a spectacular view to go to sleep too and to wake up to. With roving police and many other Boondockers, this place was as safe as it can be for San Francisco. It was a Friday night so there were tourists coming and going until 11:00 p.m., but nothing crazy.

Report Check-In

We hab a silent night, with a lot of other Campers in the Area. May different on Weekends.. Men toilets are Not very Clean,

Report Check-In

Great Point of View to the Golden Gate. We hab a silent Night, but it was a weekday. Maybe changes on Weekend. Stay her with a lot of other Campers.

Report Check-In

Nice place to spend the night with an RV. Arrived at 11:30pm and there were plenty of places available. A little noisy because of the highway nearby, but other then that pretty quiet. Had a nice nights rest and woke up to an awesome view of the Golden Gate bridge.

Report Check-In

Formal place to overnight. A lot of RVs and campers there. We have restroom and potable water. During the day a lot of tourists and cars passing, but during the night just a little. When we was there the police car pass many times and stay some minutes.. very safe.

Report Check-In

Friday night.. great views but really noisy! Arrived around dinner to great views and lots of tourists. Maybe 6 RVs. Around 10-11p lots of loud, drunk, party buses. That was followed by lots of noisy cars/music that didn’t seem to end… or at least at 2:30 a.m. as I write this it is still too noisy to sleep. To be honest, it isn’t worth it. Windy too but that is minor compared to the noise. There were police when I first arrived but none since then. Signs warn of theft. Sometimes free isn’t worth it!

Report Check-In

Great view point of the bridge. I stayed over night despite it being a touristy spot. My recommendation would be to park around the back away from the viewpoint. Was very windy, pretty quiet, few cars coming and going. Male toilets were not clean.

Report Check-In

Staying here on a Saturday night was not worth it. Sooo loud, so many cars coming in and blasting music and speakers outside throughout the night.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

It's just the luck of the draw but had an amazing quiet night here. Such a good sleep. Parked around the back away from the view where people pull in to take photos, with around 12 other vans. If you're worried about a noisy night it's at least not always like that!

Report Check-In

Just arrived for the night, busy but surprisingly many open spaces. We appear to not be the only ones, probably 4-5 other overnighters between vans and campers. Incredible view. Pretty peaceful night but one car at 2am just thumping Tik Tok by Kesha and the like for about 15 minutes. @explore_rlt

Report Check-In

Also known as H. Dana Bowers Rest Stop, this place is on the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge going north. I’ve stayed here several times and it’s always well patrolled by law enforcement and is fairly well occupied by other campers in cars, vans, and large RVs. However, this stay we were disturbed severs times by a mentally ill person who also bothered other campers by trying to get into vehicles.
Although it’s an 8 hours limit, law enforcement doesn’t enforce the limit. And it’s a really beautiful view although the restrooms are always dirty.

Report Check-In

This parking area is only accessible via the first exit off the Highway 101 after having crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, meaning that if you pass this exit, you will have to go back to the San Francisco side, turn around and then cross the bridge again to get onto the parking lot.

So since we went to Battery Spencer (on the other side of the highway) first, we couldn't get to the parking lot without crossing the bridge again (and thus paying tolls two times instead of one).

We ended up going somewhere else for the night, but had we realised this before we went, we would have gone to Battery Spencer the next morning instead.

Report Check-In

Do not recommend. Cars came and went whole night. People blaring music and honking horns.
Litter everywhere and unclean bathrooms.

Report Check-In

Do not recommend to use the washrooms, they're disgusting. 3 RVs with us and the most beautiful view ever.

Report Check-In

Parking lot is very busy in the day (we arrived here about 5pm and it was still pretty packed) but clears out for the most part by 6:30pm. RV parking is around the one way U-Shaped lot, near the exit. Easy walk into bathrooms. They do the job but are pretty dirty. We were also able to walk our dogs around the buildings to potty in the greenery, and of course clean it up afterwards. This is a good place for an overnight, but don't set up camp. Keep clean, quiet, and respectful and you should be good to go.

Report Check-In

Very good spot for a night
Feel safe here and big enough for bigger rv

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here and have mixed feelings. Yes the view is amazing and there are many other campers so it feels safe, but it's also a popular place for the locals to spend the evening overlooking the city. While our first night was peaceful, the second night we had a party bus with extremely loud music come here for like half an hour around 11pm; an outdoor birthday party (also with very loud music, alcohol and singing) till like 2am; and some kind of navy? recruits party that started a jogging session at 5.30am, with their supervisor screaming the training commands at the group and the group responding loudly. They even sang a navy song while jogging around and away from the rest area... We did not get much sleep that second night.

Report Check-In

We stay 2 nights/ days here without no problems. Very bussy on the day, at 10pm is better. Police patrolled. Toilettes are very dirty. Amazing view and Good place for the Night. Big Bus Tour started 20m from the parking lots.

Report Check-In

Great views and good for longer than 8 hours. Woke up around midnight to police arresting someone for what sounded like a break in. A bit scary but still felt safe as police are obviously frequently patrolling the area! Busy and loud until about 10pm on a weeknight

Report Check-In

The bathrooms weren’t bad and the views are beautiful. Lots of people, mostly tourists passing through to see the view. We stayed for 2 nights and weren’t bothered - the 8 hour stay doesn’t seem to be enforced.

Report Check-In

highly suggested for vanlifers and car travelers. great views. busy until late, but lots of overnight parking, 5-10 other vans there, amazing views of Golden Gate. bathrooms and litter arent in the best shape, but manageable.

Report Check-In

Nice views, ok for a night. toilets are disgusting. very loud with party folk and loud music all night. the view is the best about this place, we didnt get a lot of sleep

Report Check-In

We spent the day here as a base for taking the BigBus Tour. it was perfect! We were worried about where to leave our RV while touring downtown. So many of the downtown lots reported theft. But leaving it here, even with our two ebikes on the back during the day worked well. We're planning to head to the Great Highway for our overnight stay.

Great view of the Golden Gate Bridge from here.

Report Check-In

Very nice view on the water and bridge!
Crowded during the evening, but much better at night. Police passed a few time, didn't say anything about us being here.
Very nice for a first night in San Francisco!!

Exploravan, Québec - Costa Rica!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 4 nights in a row without any issues. There were at least half a dozen other RVs/campervans parked overnight each night. We actually parked for 2 straight days (over 48 hours) and just took public transit to various tourist destinations around the city. There are no time limit or “no overnight parking” signs posted. This vista point is very busy with tourists during the day, but fairly quiet from about 9pm to 9am. Felt very safe, especially with all the other boondockers around.

Report Check-In

Good spot for a quick stop. Great view of the bridge and the city. I was surprise that it wasn’t that much noisy for the place.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 4 nights spending the days at Crissy beach for parking. Lots of cops patrol the area, felt very safe and lots of room towards the back for big rigs. It is very busy during the day, try to arrive early to allow yourself time to find a good spot. We would get there around 6-7pm and find a spot in the back for our truck + camper. We will be staying here anytime we’re in the area, great views!

Report Check-In

Lots of others parked here for the night. Bathrooms were trashed after the weekend

Report Check-In

Best deal to visit San Francisco. Stay here at Visa Point for overnight (fantastic view). During the day, pass the bridge and move to the free parking at Crissy Beach Parking lot. Take the bus number 30 and buy the bus day pass for 5$.

Report Check-In

view point next to the Golden Gate. Around 7 other RV for overnight. Amazing view, noise from highway and hardly visited by other people till 11pm. No problems.

Report Check-In

Carros policiales pasan 24/7.

We confirmed with the police that you can stay more than 8 hours. We stayed 3 days while working remotely. Good cell signal. A bit noisy and busy during day but quiet at night. Several theft alerts but we felt safe, nothing happened. Lot of vans and campers every night. Several police cars pass 24/7.

Report Check-In

We checked with police and they said fine to park up for the night. The 8 hour thing is not enforced. Busy and noisy initially but by 10/11 pm it is quiet til morning. Can’t beat the views. Simply stunning.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Tel que décrit déjà. Le plus dérangeant, ce sont les autres RV arrivés après nous, qui se mettent tout près et laissent les génératrices tourner toute la nuit!!! Merci de respecter le sommeil des autres et de les éteindre à heure raisonnable…

Report Check-In

The best overnight in San Francisco. You can also leave your RV during the day to enjoy the City. We have confirmed this with the local police.

Report Check-In

Great views! Great spot to sleep at! Didn’t get bothered as it is a rest stop!

Report Check-In

As described safe comfortable place to spend the night, plenty of spaces showing up at 2200 on a Friday, and as mentioned truly epic spot for Sunrise, just have to pay $10 toll to get back across bridge into city

Report Check-In

Good parking nice view of both bridges. Nice picture opportunities. Bathrooms are open just a lot of graffiti. Feels like a good area to sleep. You get the hum of the hwy but doesn’t bother me.

Report Check-In

Arrived late at night and many of the parking spots were taken along the bridge-side. I parked on the other side under a street lamp where there was more privacy and less foot traffic.

Four drinking fountains are available in the corridor of the bigger restroom area. Perfect for filling up your water bottles! Lots of trash cans and recycling options too.

Report Check-In

Lots of people and cars coming and going and distant hum of the bridge traffic but otherwise beautiful spot. Highly recommend the discovery museum below If you have kids! One of my favorite childhood memories. Bathrooms are usable but dirty and graffitied. Lots of signs warning about theft but felt safe since there were so many people around. Park on the side that doesn’t have a view of the bridge if you are a light sleeper. Also Sausalito a little ways further is a cute town, I recommend the ole candy shop!

Report Check-In

Our 3th year that we passed the bridge and still a great place with amazing view. Super place to visit SF

Report Check-In

Great place with bathrooms. Very foggy when I stay

Report Check-In

Stayed two consecutive nights and no one bothered.
Gets noisy during the day as it’s a rest stop that has a perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge. But dies down evening time.
Even ordered Ubereats.

Good LTE service

Report Check-In

Amazing view of the golden gate bridge from your van. Woke up a few times from people playing music and smoking weed. Did even see some people smoking something else in their car. There are other tourists sleeping in their vans as well so we didn't feel unsafe.

Report Check-In

As others have said, a great place to see the Golden Gate and do an overnight. Attention to those coming from the north, the first passage underneath, at the end of the bridge, is only 11.10" (the CAMARADAHOME has 12'10" did not pass). I was instructed by the security guards to make a U-turn right after the tunnel, taking the right and heading back. It's well marked and the GPS recognizes this second option.

Report Check-In

The sign says “Vista Point” (which it is), but it is also a state sponsored Roadside Safety Rest Area. This means that you can park/sleep here overnight (for up to 8hrs). Near the (very clean) bathrooms there is a poster explaining what you can and can’t do here.
As for the stay? You couldn’t really ask for a better view of the city of San Francisco or of the Golden Gate Bridge. The nearby 101 can be a little noisy, and if the plentiful signage is correct there are roaming thieves waiting to steal your stuff. We had a great nights sleep and felt quite safe throughout. Highly recommended for a safe rest and beautiful view.

Report Check-In

Great spot overlooking golden gate! Felt safe as there was a security patrol when we pulled in and other campers on the side of the parking lot not facing the bridge. Only bummer was loud fog horns from boats all through the night. Would stay again

Report Check-In

Great spot. As to be expected a bit noisy but this is the second time we’ve stayed and feels completely safe with police frequently patrolling and fellow vans and rvs parked on other side of restrooms. Just make sure you stay all the way to the right when coming northbound over the bridge or else you can’t get back without paying toll to go back south and try again!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a night, a few other campers in the lot. Really nice views of the San Fran bridge, bathrooms with running water. A nice place to stay to sleep!

Report Check-In

this place was very conveniently placed and the views of the bridge were amazing! we did not stay though because there were signs all over the lot about frequent theft area and don't leave important belongings in your vehicle and stuff like that. our vehicle is home so we did not feel totally safe and decided to move on.

Report Check-In

Amazing view at night to overlook the city of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge! It was quiet after the sun sets and there was a view vans parked nearby

Report Check-In

Great spot to car camp for the night with amazing view of the city. We cooked and had dinner in the tailgate. Lots of visitors even late at night so park on the side of the restrooms if you don’t want to be disturbed by talking and cars. 24 hour restrooms a bit grim but better than nothing.

Report Check-In

Like everyone has said this was a great spot. It was a delight to wake up and watch the sunrise over San Fran and the Golden Gate. Bathrooms were not the cleanest but there was soap and running water.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night here. A bit noisy with crowds and other RVS but amazing views and great access to freeway.

Report Check-In

Amazing spot to spend the night in San Francisco! It a little loud but didn’t bother me. I woke up at 5am to the sound of a buzzing noise every 10 seconds I guess because boats pass under the bridge and it was foggy. Nonetheless it was really nice.

Report Check-In

nice place with views, staying for a night.

Report Check-In

Really busy. With the heavy fog I missed the exit and had to circle back. Just happy to have a restroom near.

Report Check-In

Great place to sleep! Got there around 11pm, parked next to a couple camper vans (we are just car camping in our suv). Left around 7 am. Still lots of tourists coming and going until around midnight or so but we slept fine. Woke up to a gorgeous sunset over the bay and a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Also nice to have a bathroom right there.

Report Check-In

Good spot to spend 1 night. "8 hour limit." Multiple other vans spending the night. Moderate traffic. Amazing views.

Report Check-In

Good spot for the night. Beautiful view. Got here late on a Monday and it was still pretty open. A couple of vans and campers. No one bothered us. There are people coming and going late and early so if you’re a light sleeper, find a secluded spot.

Report Check-In

The best place to sleep in San Francisco. The view is amazing! For the day, you can park your car in Marina Green parking. It's free and you have access to the public transport.

Report Check-In

Great Lookout, Toilets are ok.. slept in the van, no problems.

Report Check-In

Amazing view. If you are traveling by RV, you have to spend a night here to watch the sunset and the sun rising with Golden Gate in the background. The only cons is that the bathrooms are very dirty.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night. Plenty of other cars here. Not a bad place to crash. Just stay close to your car and you should be good

Report Check-In

I have stayed here now several times. Feels safe. Used by number of different travelers including some big trucks. I like the foghorn but not the fog🚌😎🐾

Report Check-In

We slept here in our suv for over week while visiting San Francisco during the days. Atleast 5 or 6 other rv's and car-campers were here every night too. Didn't have any problems. Working water fountains, always open washrooms. Bridge Patrol and Highway Patrol drive through every 20 minutes or so and never say anything. There was even a guy sleeping in a tent setup in a parking spot one night and they just drove right by. Fantastic view of the bridge. Sign even says that small stove use is allowed if done safely.

Report Check-In

Slept here for more than a week. No problems at all. Sure some traffic noise from the highway, and cars and buses etc + all the people coming/leaving the view point, but for the view and the convenient distance to the city it's a really great deal. The restrooms can be icky yes... I believe it's mostly the bus loads with the drunk party people that are leaving the huge messes but in the morning the cleaning personel does a good job and all the toilets look respectable again in terms of being able to use them (some "art" on the walls might still be left...).

Report Check-In

the best place in all San Francisco 10 min From the port and the best view to the city. we pass one Night with our motorhome.

Report Check-In

What an amazing free spot. It's definitely been a highlight of our trip waking up to the sunrise at the golden gate bridge. We spent three nights here with no issues in our 40 foot bus. There were rigs of every kind here from moving trucks to rental RVs to vans to unimogs.

As others suggested it's best to clear out during the day and park at Marina Green parkinglot which is walking distance to everything downtown.

Parking got much busier on the weekend and some of the RVs were double parked Saturday morning.

Theres a water faucet outside but you'll need a sillcock key to turn it on.

I thought that my time in Asia had hardened me in the ways of filthy bathrooms, but nothing could've prepared me for this.

Report Check-In

Parked beside a couple RVs here for one night. Saw one vehicle with a smashed window. Bathrooms were less than satisfactory for sure, and didn't really feel safe at all here. Wouldn't recommend leaving your car out of sight here. Can't deny that it was a super convenient place to sleep though.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for three nights in total. Loads of signs saying beware of theft but we did not see any incidents. We stayed with our vehicle whilst there as we only slept there. Toilets were ok and it was pretty quiet at night.
During the day we drove down to the marina carpark which is free parking between 0600 and 2200hrs, and explored from there. We used Uber cabs once that was very reasonable.
Alcatraz was also a great trip.

Report Check-In

Incredible view of the Golden Gate and San Francisco city. Good if you're in a pinch but if you're looking for somewhere quiet, look elsewhere. Didn't bother us much but there's people up and around at all times of the night.

We were headed southbound and had to come back across the bridge so ended up having to pay another $8 the next day.

Washrooms here are horrid.

We only stayed here one night

Report Check-In

Arrived about 7:30pm...lots of open spots. Some noise from cars crossing the bridge, but worse noise from people parking right next to our exit doors and slamming their doors late at night. Woke up early to find they had also leaned out and left a pile of vomit between our vehicles.

The bathrooms are a mess...hover well and may have to bring your own TP as most of what was available was all over the floor.

Good if you’re arriving late and need a quick night to stay, but park so you can easily get in and out of your vehicle because people like to cluster here.

Report Check-In

Slept in our car 2 nights here. Never bothered. Couples of RV and car with us. Busier on weekends obviously. Washrooms are not the cleanest but are a good wind blocker for camping stove if needed. A perfect place for no cost.

Report Check-In

Slept here one night without problems, was quiet loud, restrooms are the worst I’ve ever seen, so good for a quick rest while explore sf

Report Check-In

Great, easy, free overnight parking. Can get busy. SO close to the Bridge. Fantastic morning views. Loads of tourists though. $8 toll to go southbound to SF, free to go northbound. Can only be accessed going northbound. Exit at “vista point” almost immediately after the bridge, hairpin turn.

Report Check-In

Rest Area with Golden Gate Bridge view. Allowed to stay up to 8h - but you can stay longer without troubles. We slept here 3 nights came in at 10pm and left around 10am. Only negativ you have to pay the bridge toll ($8) everday to enter to San Fran.

Report Check-In

I absolutely cannot recommend this place for safety reasons, we saw 3 vehicles with broken windows, so moved away asap! There were many signs with warning about thieves.

Report Check-In

stayed here one night. It was kinda noisy also a Saturday night. Bathrooms are open all night. In the morning there were clean ones. We saw the cops roll by twice. There were many other vehicles staying over night so we felt safe. Amazing night view of the bridge.

Report Check-In

This was a great stop to spend the night. The bathrooms were open late and no one bothered me at all. Woke up refreshed after having walked across the bridge the night before. I saw only signs about the thefts problem, other wise no troubles. The couple in the Westie next to me were really cool and we traded tips and information like nomads do!

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night, would have stayed more but worried about theft and breakins, as we’ve heard from every local are rampant. It was pretty noisy but not unbearable, though we were woken up at 5:30am Sunday morning by a rock n roll marathon with a full band. Like others said, bathrooms are dirty but certainly usable.
Also note it’s only accessible from the northbound lanes of the GG bridge, so if you plan on entering SF you have to pay the $8 toll every time. Not driving back into Vista Point from the south though.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night when we arrived in San Fran. Great for first night as you wake up to a beautiful view of the city (and get an even more amazing view at night). It is definitely not the best spot for long term, very busy though we didn't find it too loud during the night.

Bathrooms were very dirty but better than pooping in a bag. Didn't feel the most safe though there are several other campers parked there I would assume basically every night. We were wedged between an RV and a camper, both fellow Canadians :)

Report Check-In

open lot. exposed to elements if weather turns. overall no issue with one night.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night here with SUV camper. Noisy before midnight. Quiet after that even in the morning(weekday, noisy on weekends). Another 3 camper parked. No one bothered except a car playing music in late night but left later.
Really GORGEOUS view!

Report Check-In

it is a rest stop with view of golden gate bridge. did stay for one night. it can be very noisy at night and morning.

Report Check-In

Nice, quiet and free parking lot to stay overnight.
Incredible San Francisco view day and night.
There are restrooms close (but don’t know how clean or useful they are).

Report Check-In

We had a van. We spend 1 night there, no problem. Quiet at night. Some other vans. 1st tourists at sunrise. Restrooms not very clean

Report Check-In

Better views and more safe than Presidio so we spent two nights here and there seems to always be enough space for everyone if arriving before 10pm and the police patrolls the lot but no issues with them. The first night a night marathon had a relay point right next to our camper with people screaming to boost the spirit of runners from 2am til 8am. The 2nd night was quiet. Gents' toilets were far from clean.

Report Check-In

Allowed place for travelers to sleep in their cars, trailers or motorhomes. The movement of the place is great because it is the main tourist point of the city, then it will have movement of tourists from early morning until late at night. The bathroom was pretty dirty. But I think it's the most striking place to sleep in the city.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 1 night in a truck + camper. There was a couple of other RV’s here and a steady amount of people checking out the viewpoint the whole night. We had a group of drunk people yelling at our camper and pushing it at one point around 1am which was scary, but other than that had no issues.

Report Check-In

Premier Spot avec le van. beaucoup de vent mais jolie vue sur le golden gate.

Report Check-In

Great place to stay for the night. Quiet free and lots of other campers. Police there in the morning but didn't bother anyone.

Report Check-In

Great free place to stay at San Francisco, basically a free campsite so many campers. Quiet too.

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay with running water. The toilets didn’t have toilet paper unfortunately but we had our own with us in the van.

Report Check-In

Estuvimos 4 noches, un poco ruidoso pero seguro ya que es un área de descanso. Baños 24 horas aceptables.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for the night. Many others parked here for the night as well. Wasn’t as loud as I expected.
Bathrooms and running water here as well. Would come back :)

Report Check-In

Noisy during (ear plug useful) night but there is an incredible view of the golden gate.

Access closed for cars from 11 am to 5 pm during we until 6th September.

Report Check-In

Indeed a good place to stay for free close to SF. View is great, you do have a 24h toilet block and you are for sure not the only camper here, from rooftop tent to big rig you see everything. Relatively quiet during the night, safe and legal (police car drove by several times).

Report Check-In

Still a perfect place without NO signs and a awesome view to the Bridge and the skyline; we spend 4.nights there without any trouble, but it would be great if people with big rigs wouldn’t block several designated parking spots AND the bus parking until late in the morning otherwise these free parking opportunity will be gone very soon!
Please value these opportunities also the toilets and the work of the men who are keeping it clean.Thank You.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view in the bridge and San Francisco. We stayed 3 nights with no problems. The noice from 101 was not as bad as expected.

Report Check-In

Nice spot with a stunning view. But pay attention: you can only access the area coming from San Francisco. When coming from north, you have to drive over the bridge (&pay), turn around and enter from this side.

Report Check-In

Great spot to park for the night. Public restrooms. No one bothering you if you sleep in your car. You have to pay 7.75 to cross the bridge but well worth it for the quiet and safety and not being ticketed.

Report Check-In

For busy days the access ramp to the vista point is closed to avoid traffic jams on the bridge.
We were in SFO on Thanksgiving Weekend and traffic at ALL vista points was just mad.
Only busses were allowed to enter this vista point.

Report Check-In

Great place to see the sunrise and sunset above San Francisco. We stayed here for 4 nights. At the day we went to the beach at Chelsie park near Marine Blvd, great beach with view on the bridge and Alcatraz

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay a night. A lot of RV's there. But Amazing Sunrise with a vue on The Golden Gate Bridge. A Little noise because of the road next to it atout 5:00 AM. Access from and directly at road 101.

This is a formal rest area where sleeping is allowed and legal. It's good for a night or two, but not a place to settle and make it a campsite.

Otherwise the view is absolutely amazing and there are toilets open 24 hours. Just be aware that the place gets packed during the day and even during the night there are photographers and others around.

Enjoy!
