stayed here after riding the iron ore train. checked in at 1am which wasn't a problem at all, just message them beforehand to let them know. had a hot shower and there's also wifi available here when we stayed (although I'm still not sure if it was actually wifi or just a personal hotspot)! paid 800 for 2 ppl in a private hut

not sure why this place has been marked as closed, it's definitely still open.

just drive to the very end of the road and you'll find this oasis, you do have to walk the last few hundred metres. it costs 200 (per person) to visit the oasis for the day and another 300 (per person) if you want to sleep in one of the tents there.
If you have your own tent you can put it up for 200 a person I believe it was
Food is also available for about 200/300 a meal. the guy working here, Jamal, is absolutely lovely!

Western toilet available.
Also you can actually drink the water from the oasis, just ask Jamal and he'll show you where to get it from.
No wifi and no phone service at the oasis.

nice place, stayed in a hut on the roof for 800/ night (2 people)
Both single beds came with a mosquito net, which we were very thankful for!
shared shower and toilet, which don't have a roof, but that's definitely not a bad thing.

restaurant available on site, but quite expensive. because of this we didn't have anything, but to be fair, the food did look amazing and if you're not on a tight budget, you should definitely try the food!

they'll also let you use the kitchen if you buy your own food. just keep in mind that they use this same kitchen for their restaurant so it can be quite busy if you try to use it around dinner time.

It's also possible to pay with revolut here, which was perfect for us!

crossed on foot from Mauritania to Senegal.

showed up and instantly got approached by about a billion guys all saying stuff to me in French. I don't really speak french and I feel like it's a good thing as it made it a lot easier to ignore them.

Just keep walking till someone in a uniform tells you to show him your passport. he then gave our passport to some other random guy who took us to a window where we got stamped out of Mauritania.
The guy that just took our passports then asked for money. We asked him why and he said we should give him money because everything else here was free, the visa is free, the boat is free, so we might as well give him some money. We told him no and he got angry, but eventually gave up.

just before getting on the boat I finally agreed to exchange my remaining 550 ouguiya. managed to get 7500 CFA for it (official exchange rate 8400 CFA)
first offers we received were as low as 3000 CFA.

they will also tell you it's impossible to exchange your money on the other side of the river, which simply isn't true.

We then tried to get on the ferry, but some guy stopped us and tried to sell us a ticket for the ferry.
The ferry is free, so we just laughed at him and got on anyways. He yelled something at us in french, no idea what he said, but don't think it was very friendly.

On the Senegalse side we got off the ferry and someone in uniform was waiting to collect everyone's passports. We then had to go to another building where he eventually brought everyone's passports to and we got stamped into Senegal.

Then walked for a bit, away from all the taxis, and then from there managed to hitchhike to Saint Louis

We stayed one night at this spot. It is a roadside rest area especially for trucks at night so little bit noisy. We parked far from the toilets so it was ok. It is safe.

After reading all the reviews we were wondering what our experience would be like. I am very happy to report we had a great stay here. Campsites are large and most have some shade. The camp is neat and well maintained. The ablutions were good. Not great but better than a lot of others. They were cleaned every morning. The pool was crystal clear and very refreshing. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. We would happily stay here again. Well done NWR.

Rooms from 60000 MK (from 30$). Breakfast included.

Not recommend.
No air conditioner, rooms need maintenance, poor breakfast (just eggs, beans and cereals).

Price is not fair

we contacted Ali in advance and he came to pick us up at the monument and took us to his house right away because we arrived in the evening. he let us choose if we want to sleep in the traditional open marsh house or in our car (both options for free, there is good wifi as well), we even got extra dinner we didnt ask for and were not expected to pay for ( just simple food - bread, some tomatoes and fried potatoes and tea). first price for the tour he asked for 15 000 per person for 1 hour but when we told him other people got it for half price and that it seems too expensive for us he agreed to 15 000 total for the 2 of us. we tried to find out how much would dinner cost but he kept throwing other things into the price and it was complicated to discuss through a translator so we just decided to get the tour only. we ended up getting the basic dinner anyway so next day we gave him 25 000 instead of 15 000. He is really a fair and kind man, you just need to have patience with the translator. we also refilled 20 l of drinking water from him

Amazing place to solve your problems with diésel cars. They know a lot of about the issues and they are absolutely amazing People. They treated us like family, and gave us a lot of info about the problem in our car. Thanks Vladimir!

Overall wonderful place to stay, with a relaxed beach-type vibe, and I would recommend. The crowd is very young though, real backpackers vibe.

Camping (separate from vehicle) is possible for 9450kw but the place is not nice for camping: Small spot next to the washing lines with little privacy, close to the water. Camping with vehicle seems to be possible as well, but I think it is a bad spot without view.
Dorm is 18900kw. Rooms with shared bathroom from 28350kw (single), rooms with private bathroom from 49140kw (single). Rooms differ a lot from each other in their quality/feel, so it is worth checking out a few rooms before choosing. I think this is one of the reasons that Butterfly Space has mixed reviews. I spent the first night in a room I really didn't like (Butterfly Room), but then moved to a room that I absolutely loved (Beach House). Rooms are simple and a bit old / run down, but mostly kept in decent and clean condition. Rooms have a fan and mosquito net.

I thought that the staff was lovely: they were very friendly and accommodating.
Food in restaurant is decent.

Airtel signal is okay, but not stable in all parts of the property.

Hospedaje next to the Lima main bus terminal. Basic but clean. 55 soles. In a small street without too much noise. I could leave my bicycle box there for one month, to have it back when I finish my ride. Many local restaurants nearby and a huge mall on the other side of the boulevard

There is an RV/bus parking lot on the left side to stay overnight. A little bit noisy because of the highway otherwise, a good night sleep. You should be having dinner or breakfast at this business to thank them for letting you spend the night at their business.

Lugar tranquilo para pasar una o más noches. Al lado donde estacionamos hay un callejón para ir al mercado donde encuentran agua y baños a 1bol sin ducha.

Quiet place to spend one or more nights. Next to where we parked there is an alley to go to the market where they find water and toilets for 1 bowl without a shower.
