Huge area for travelers to park… There were probably 10 or 15 campers/RVs/vans when I arrived at 7 PM

I parked across from the apartment and the park under the big tree. I was the only one of the park side but no one bothered me and It was a fairly quiet night. The business or care facility next to the park had people coming and going but it wasn’t a big issue.

first come, first serve type of spot. very honest and knowledgeable guys. did my lower radiator hoses for nearly half the price as the 2 other quotes I got. charged me for the part and one hour of labor. And they used the coolant that I had with me.

The last check in is talking about the next site in along this road. This location is the first site right above the highway and is lovely! Awesome views!! Room for 2 RVs if you are traveling together. We are in a truck and 25 foot trailer, backed in. Lots of wildflowers. Easy walk down to the lake and the traffic noise is minimal. Don’t miss the petroglyph on the side of the road coming up here. Amazing views!

This is an RV park. Not a parking lot overnight spot.

We spent three nights there, the first one was perfect, behind the building as recommended by Walmart staff. During the second night we have been awakened at 4AM by a truck which seems to be cleaning the parking lot (?). He was still turning around and very close to us at 6, seemed like he was doing it on purpose… we decided to move in the main parking. Third night was a bit disturbed by urban rodeos by local young people, and the return of terrible truck !
—> definitely not the best spot but as it’s quite difficult to find some in the area, does the job for one night

Presently, there are multiple signs signifying “No Parking Overnight”; this is no longer a feasible spot.

The place is very simple, but ok to pass a stop over night. The owner is kind. I spent 20 reais for me and my van. Pet friendly.

Fuel up your gas from barrels. Unique experience. Today gasoline was 1500 Pesos per liter. Was pretty ok.

The road is not washed away but you cross the small river. At the moment it’s just a view cm deep, so no reason to worry about.

The road north of this point is very bad ripio (washboards). We lowered our tires and it was ok, but not comfortable.

We tried this route today. 4WD definitely necessary. And we turned in the dark.
It has indeed some very steep parts. But the main problem at this time of the year is, that there is snow at some hills. Especially on the hills that are mainly in the shadow. With these snow fields you don’t see all the tracks and some are too deep if you have not a high clearance vehicle. We have a Toyota 4Runner from the fabric and we got stucked. Luckily our friends helped us out.

For the steep parts on the route you really need to have a powerful vehicle, otherwise you won’t made it up the hill. Under 150 PS was not enough for our friends on a snowy mountain.

Route is maybe easier when you come from Antofogasta as you will drive the steepest part down. Our way back was possible without any problems (from Antofogasta to Laguna Diamond).

Area grande de camping e com bom custo beneficio. Pagamos R$65 a noite por pessoa. Mas as vagas dos campings deixaram um pouco a desejar, pois além de não haver ponto de agua nas vagas (apenas nas areas do banheiro) o solo de todo o espaço é de areia solta e ficamos atolados 2 vezes manobrando o motorhome pelo camping.

We came here to get our dog's health certificate for the border Crossing to Bolivia and to do a blood test. We made an appointment via Whattsapp for the next day.
The process was quick and easy. She issued the Certificado de Vacunas and the Certificado Antiparasitario (Health Certificate) after looking through our EU pet passport. Everything was in order so we did not have to get any additional vaccination.
The Health Certificate cost 80 Soles and the blood test 50 Soles.

All in all it was a quick and easy process for a good price. We were in contact with another vet (Kusi Wasi) who wanted 450 Soles for the documents. The vet said that for the land border you don't need the official Senasa Papers. The Health Certificate from the vet should be enough.

If you have a big rig, you're gonna have trouble finding a parking lot. Smaller vehicles can be parked at a secure parking just around the corner. I've added that to iOverlander as well.

Big parking area, the visitors center was closed when we arrived. Quiet place, three other rv’s arrived after us. Definitely recommend this spot, close to the park entrance.

My stay was amazing, very lovely place. I was impressed with the view. Its clean place, the workers was friendly. Love everything. There is all facilities. I highly recommend.

Very clean and nice place. Freindly staff. Small campround. Dogs Park, wifi, Good cell reception. Close from Gettysburg historical sites. Shower, toilet, sites full hook up or just water and power at your choice. Tent freindly

This location was beautiful! We made it up in our truck camper at night so we were pleasantly surprised with the view in the morning. We were all alone up there with about 1-2 bars verizon, but the starlink worked. Only people we saw were some beekeepers up there in the morning tending to the bees!

This is the road to the right. It is a nice spot and works well. Just be wary of rain.

We stopped here to prepare lunch. It is very nice, kind of idilic with green bushes and a small river. But when we were there (mid April), there were so many wasps it was unbearable. I understand it is nature bjt it is not comfortable when they are trying to get into your mouth :-/

We stayed one night on the malecon. Quiet and safe at night ! Perfect place to enjoy sunset 🌅

Typical Cracker Barrel, as described. Stayed here once last year too, no issues at all. We parked near the elongated RV spots. Thank you Cracker Barrel!

We stay one night here and no knock on door of our trailer (17 feet). We have access to Wi-Fi. We stay back besid palm. But so noisy with circulation earlier in the morning.
