Huge area for travelers to park… There were probably 10 or 15 campers/RVs/vans when I arrived at 7 PM

Great place to stay a night, with clear policy and signage. About 8 or so rigs of all types and sizes staying here on a Saturday night in April, but plenty of space for everyone.

Nice quiet space. The store was clean and nice, the people friendly. There were several campers there but plenty of room for everyone.

It confirms previous comments, stayed 4 nights along with other rigs. Used WM washrooms and spent money there. Went to rec center for workout/showers for $5. Kudos to Cortez and Walmart’

Great spot to stay the night. Many RVs and skoolies around too, so you might even make a new friend. One guy was even offering repairs straight from his rig.

Another win-win relation between small RVs that need to shop and park overnight while traveling.
Spent $120.

Fairly peaceful. Some youngsters drag racing in the Walmart and generally hanging around but no big deal. I stayed 2 nights although there are signs saying that 1 night is all they allow. Others also took off for the day and returned at night. A local said that the signs mean nothing and he saw someone stay here for 6 months.

A sine says 1 night only anything else would be towed but looks safe and 3 bars LTE for Verizon plenty of other people in parking lot

stood here one night with about 7 other big and small campers, WiFi sometimes reiches to the camping part of the carpark. clean toilets and big grocery departement, can recommend though the carpark is not everywhere level

So grateful that this Walmart is allowing overnight parking! It is limited to one night, but there is a designated area of the Walmart parking lot by the O’Reilly.
Update early morning Tuesday, June 6, 2023: Disappointed in the others who stayed overnight. We woke up to their trash just blowing all over the site. My husband and I picked up what we could, but I hope they don’t continue to treat this area like this.

Cortez Walmart, sign states one night allowed, unfortunately, it’s a panhandler and homeless hangout. Dirty and creepy parking lot.

Noisy section of the parking lot, after 9pm it wasn't bad but thunderstorms may have kept the drivers inside. Great location considering it was free and no muddy forest roads to contend with.The signs with 'one night only for overnight parking' are still here so I didn't bother checking in with the store security/managers. No issues, arrived 3PM and left at 7am., strong cell signal.

Had some excitement with locals arguing, so we switched spots away from them. Not a very level parking lot, but good for one night. Lots of vans and RVs

Great place to stay. Tons of other rvs, vans, car campers around. Except for the one guy who had his generator going all night. No joke literally all night. Several other rvs were there with generators and did not use them.

It was a quiet night over-all. When we arrived, we knew we didn't want to park near the cannabis store and so we looked on the other side. We didn't like the other spots and so we asked security are we able to park in the "main" parking lot.They said we are allowed to park in the 2 parking rows lined up with the outside garden area. It was perfect for us. We popped out and slept through the night.

Hung out in the far entrance and parked amongst the RVs. There were some cars campers as well. It was a quiet stay overnight and would stay again. Felt safe and secure with the bright lights, music, and many RVs in the area.

There's a sign posted stating overnight stays must be limited to one night. No idea where/if there is potable water anywhere. Lots of RVs, vans, busses, etc here for the night though, and not a lot of road noise, which is nice.

Stayed two nights and had no issues. Lots of other overnight vehicles. Has a nice view of the mountains too!

Lots of people parked here overnight. The parking lot is on a slope, so if you're in an RV beware. Lots of road noise.

One of the better Walmart lots we've stayed in on this trip. There were at least 15 vehicles camped out in the back of the lot. All varying sizes of rigs. There was an 24hr Denny's on the other side of the Speedway gas station; nice since Walmart closed at 11pm.

Pretty standard Walmart lot. We switched from here and other spots in the area, and only stayed two nights in a row. However, I didn't see any signs limiting the stay, and no-one seems to really care. Some other folks staying there too, and some people loitering, but absolutely no-one bothered us. Some people even offered help when we had a problem with out truck. The Walmart itself is pretty big and well-stocked. All-in-all, a good place to boondock. Great cellphone service.

Had a bit of commotion that could’ve been a fight by My van last night in the Walmart parking lot…but only lasted like 15 minutes and was perfect after that. Lots of vans and overnighters. Only one night. @thislifeunraveled

Standard Walmart, park on the outer edge with the other overnight folks (there’s a kind of separate parking area). I had no problems, but some of the other folks here don’t understand common courtesy. If you’re driving a Class A with a tow, don’t block the main parking lot (see pic). This is 10 miles from Mesa Verde National Park, it’d be a shame if they shut us out because of a few inconsiderate people.

Stayed here two nights no problem! There was two RVs that didn’t even leave within two days. It says you can only stay one night but I guess they don’t check!

Very quiet, shaded with some trees parking lot. Sign says 1 night only, there are about 25 people (RV, vans, cars) parked here tonight with plenty of space between!

A lot of people sleep here.
Last night we was more than 25 between the motorhomes and the cars.
If like us you buy food each time you sleep in walmart.
You can buy a good roasted chicken for cheap

Stayed here 1 night in what seemed to be the unofficial RV park at the back of the car park! There was 14 other RVs, schoolies or campers! Great for a night stop but signs do say 1 night only!
