Nice shower 3$ per person. You have men and woman locker rooms, but you also have a family room. Very nice, clean. Check the opening hours on the website. We were there on a Monday and they closed at 1pm.

NO Camping right next to the Hot Well (they are in the process of putting up barriers to prevent it), but plenty of dispersed camping around it

We are full-timers and have a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We stayed for two nights here in mid May to enjoy the spring. This is a nice comfortably hot spring with no odor and two stage lake with Coots and lots of little fish. Unfortunately, there is a new sign (the old one was shot up) that reads “This facility will be closed and filled in if the vandalism and killing of wildlife continues”. Some people are just bent on ruining things for everyone else. There were only a couple other people here during our stay. There is absolutely no light pollution here, so the skies when clear are awesome, as was the view of the snow capped White Mountains to the West. We had zero AT&T service. Starlink had speeds up to 8 MB/s and we had DISH coverage on all of the western satellites. We didn’t try any OTA channels with our fixed omni antenna.

The spot is nice…. However the traffic is fairly constant…. A car goes by every 30 seconds and I am here on a Monday. The road is right next to you so you hear it. Nice view and lake but be mindful of the traffic. If that doesn’t bother you this is a nice stop for a night.

The guy working here is awful. I was going to inquire about camping but sign says closed and the lot is bare and ugly. I saw the guy working and began to inquire about things. Deciding not to camp, I asked if they had showers if I were just passing through, he said $15. I asked USD? His response “or you can give me $20 Canadian”.
Def do not recommend this place.

Nice and basic BLM campground. Reserve online. Campground host here in warmer months and will check you in. This is the correct location of this camp. The other entry nearby is for this camp and wrong location. Careful not to get confused thinking there are two camps, there are not just this one.

It's still 350 pesos for a room. Pretty basic, but has hot water, A/C and wifi.
At the restaurant we had a basically rice/beans/salad/tortilla meal with a soda for 70 pesos.
Still has secure parking for motorcycles and smaller vehicles. A Sprinter would fit, but not much bigger.
There is no signage on the building except an "Open" sign near the front door.

According to Gaia GPS map this is just outside the West Yellowstone city border on Custer Gallatin National Forest where dispersed camping is allowed as long as you're away from Trailheads, established campgrounds, etc. Additional rules apply so check their comprehensive camping guide which you can find online.
We camped here because all other forest roads we tried still had significant snow cover making them impassable for our 2WD Promaster, or were closed (15 May 2023) such as the South Plateau road 1700 which leads to the many dispersed campsites you can see south of this spot on iOverlander.
It's not particularly beautiful, but it provides for a night a 5min drive from the West Yellowstone entrance. We were the only ones. Ground is level with compacted gravel, dry despite the intense snow melts. Plenty of space to go for a walk in the forest (be bear aware). Fair phone reception, restaurants, bars, shops, gas, etc. just a few minutes away. There's a little creek carrying water, but most likely dries out in summer.

This is a wonderful place with sprawling meadows and forest. Easy road that zig zags through with countless smaller roads heading to sites. Any size rig can find a spot here. Almost unlimited camping spots of spectacular quality. This is a must stop if you are coming through.
1 to 2 bars Verizon LTE depending where you are.
Much of the area has no coverage.

Today we got our certificate. We artived at 10.30 as recommend by Overland Embassy and they said, they need one hour. After 2 hours we left the building to eat something and came back around 2p.m. and we waited for another hour or more. -.-
I would recommend to go there, skip the line outside, go inside and fill out the form there and then come back 3 or 4 hours later.

Everybody assured us, that this route is safe now. There was rain earlier this year, and everything is green. There might also some improvement have been done to the road. There is a section which is rough, but in total it is OK. We are a big camper (5.5t, 3.6m high) and had an average speed of about 23kmh.

BLM camping. Beautiful spot with a fire pit by Independence creek. Three tall pine trees near the site. Road is challenging, narrow and requires a 4WD vehicle. Amazing 360 views. 3 bars of LTE Verizon. Please, help keep this gem clean.
