The camping is small and basic but everything is clean, including the bathrooms. They have a nice warm shower and space to pitch your tent undercover.

A one sweet spot for a camper van or RV conversion.

Pass the eco depot and go up until you see the panel « do not proceed beyond this point ». Right there make a U turn and park yourself on the other side. The next morning you will have a nice view toward the glaciars

Also stayed here on a saturday night, quiet peaceful place next to the river. The kiosk and kayak rental does not seem to be open during winter but the toilets and showers are (we managed to even get a mildly warm shower out of the mens shower by turning on the water heater thats there).
Was a bit of a ripio to get out here but agree with previous comments that it was worth the detour!

Guy was there said he’d have it ready by 5pm But when i told him I was just stopping by in the town he filled it up for me in 30min for 800 per kg. Gas stove has been acting up and spitting fire ever since maybe it wasn’t the right kind of gas for me?

Place is still as described. Heads-up: there is quite a big price difference if you pay cash or by card. So.. bring cash. 😉 23 € (cash) for 2 adults & 2 kids (rtt + we pitched an extra tent)

Very beautiful spot with lots of level parking, quite surprising to find such a nice camp spot on a terrible road.
Think the latest 2022 hurricane destroyed the road further, going up or down doesn’t matter much. It’s very challenging and only do this with high clearance 4x4 with good offroad tires

Would not recommend. The other hospedajes in the plaza asked 25 sol for 2 pers. Owner here wanted 50 sol, not negotiable. He said that this was an other standard and not comparable. But no warm shower, no WiFi, water to flush toilet and sink were not working, no towel, no toiletpaper, owner not very friendly. I think you will sleep the same in an other cheaper hostal.

A pleasant and quiet spot, even for tents. The sound of the road is mostly drowned out by the bubbling stream.
The easy road in is the third dirt road on the left from the YPF intersection.

We had a good time there, a good place for relaxing. Uli helped us to find a garage to repair our suspension, good and cheap. After the other comments we were a bit scared if we can get there but the road to the lodge is good and we had no problem to get with our 3m high, 2,30 wide and 6,60m long car.Everything else was fine and like described, the price is still 750ppn.

Simple, rustic place with very very good vibes and nice people. WiFi is still very slow and water comes and goes (desert).

thought I'd check in since there aren't any recent check in. this place is great! fantastic spots just past the hamburger rock. close to the needles district canyonlands. good road lots of spots. cool rock formation provide shade and interest!

NF camping spot. Decently level. Close to the road(road noise). Starlink works great, little to no TMobile. Covered in snow currently, but looks pretty trashed.

While we were cycling today, a local pulled over and warned us that bike jackings had been happening further down this road. He recommended we connect back to the M9 via milkwood, so we did. Just a heads up to other cyclists.

The showers never got hot which is disappointing because it was a rainy cold day outside. Also mens locker room is closed due to renovations. Just your average planet fitness besides these issues

Big Atlantic Gulch Campground is in the South Pass area. It features 10 campsites, fire rings, garbage collection, water (weather permitting), picnic tables, vault toilets and can accommodate medium sized recreational vehicles. The site is ADA Accessible. There are seasonal closures and occasionally there is a host on site. Be aware, this is bear country! This is a fee site and typical use season is June 1 - October 31.

Gravel clearing off of BLM road 15-7-23. Quite, secluded, peaceful and right off the road with minimal passersby.
1 bar of Verizon service. Great location for Starlink as well, clear sky view.
Spent a week here, saw about 3 cars/day pass by. Multiple pull offs like this up and down the road. Near Mary’s Peak which was impassable due to snow and downed trees.
