This would be a good safe spot as a last minute option. Close to VT-100, but the only signs are regarding dumping and snowmobiles. The parking area was deeply flooded after raining all day.

Much better than the spot next to the road, this place is wild, secluded and with a view of the lake. Good walking trail to the east and shade from a big tree. No cell service. Absolute top spot!

Beautiful spot at the ocean. You can‘t get closer. It‘s super windy and we found the perfect spot. Lonely and wind protected. Power point - 320 Rand for 2.

Parking lot next to Forest park and the departure of a trail. Sign saying the park closes from 10pm to 5pm but no “no overnight parking” sign. We stayed here and no one bothered us. Bit far from the city center (1h walk) but for the night it is quiet. 3bars 4G AT&T

Some trash, be careful if you have a dog. No public trash bin. Big, open lot with plenty of room. Several cars in and out at night and in the morning (at least over the weekend when we were there). ATT service is slow. 1 bar, can’t stream but can do the basics.

Crossing was easy. On the liberian side they check your health certificates and ask "do you want to support the office" A friendly "Nahh sorry" was enough. They gave me the exit stamp of Liberia after I got the entry on Ivory coast side to make shure that your not stuck between the boarder. No Carnet needet in IC but the Laisser passer for you and your vehicle(get it in 24h at the embassy in Monrovia). After the entry to Ivory Coast the police stopps again a few times and asks for laisser passer. They take pictures of the documents, you and your vehicle. No bribes asked.
Fuel in Ivorycoast is cheaper but first propper gas station close to Man. Road is fine. Just a few parts without tarmac on the Liberian side and in Ivorycoast its getting even better.

Cyclist heading north. Stayed behind the petrol station in a tent. Would avoid pitching the tent on the gravel since trucks use the yard to stay overnight and turn their vehicles. The grassy patch at the back is full of trash and dogshit. I ended up pitching the tent on a concrete patch between the disused platforms of La Balanza (to weigh the trucks). Pretty concealed and wasn’t disturbed by anyone. Used the YPF showers, which were very hot. Also refilled water bottles in the toilets. Cost AR$200 for shower. Good phone signal with Personal, no WiFi.

Stayed in this forested campsite for two nights before the sunlight took me elsewhere, was a nice spot to visit given the hiking trail nearby - walked 12.5km then ran the remaining 5k back to camp! Bit of an adventure (11th time lucky on this Friday hunt for a good campsite)

Beautiful camping location on national forest land with gorgeous views of the valley. Multiple spots at this location, which is relatively flat. Road is accessible to 2WD sedans, though the turnout into the camping area has some deep ruts.

Excellent AT&T and good Verizon service if you have a booster. 1 bar without.

Most amazing view of the Teton range. There are spots at the bottom of the hill and all along Shadow Mointain Rd. Although when I entered from the noth I saw very little spots for 3 miles. most of them are on the first 5 miles from the southern end. Fire ring available. I have decent Verizon signal. This is one of the larger spots. Road is good, a little rougher the further up but have seen 2 wheel drives passing by. Will need 4x4 for some of the side roads. Vault toilets at the bottom of the road. This site is next to the main road but there isnt much trafffic. Flies and mosquitos are bad this time of year.

stayed here on thursday night into saturday morning and the first night it was just me and another van and then the rest of the time it was busy. it is summer on a public boat dock but no one bothered me. people pulling fishing boats in and out and people coming to float down the river. there are otter or beaver and they will swim right up to you. i would say don’t park in the actual lot but there is space for two or three cars in the camp spot, no big rigs only vans or cars. road is dirt but well maintained any vehicle with any clearance can make it. there is no cell service at all. i heard the train come through during the day but didn’t hear it at night. there is mild shade and there’s also swimming. this is definitely a spot local kids come to party when there’s no one around and they were disappointed i was there. oh well. i would stay again, 10 day limit.
