Latest Check-Ins

On the Snake River. Was here in April, had the best camping spot to myself. When I returned in October, my previous spot was taken. The best camping spot has enough room for two smaller truck-trailer combinations traveling together. Otherwise, it's just one spot in the trees unless you want to camp really close to someone. Has pit toilet. Boat launch has lots of customers on the weekends. Train tracks directly across the river from the campsite with a moderate amount of traffic heading down the tracks. Nice area visually. Had weak Verizon. Lots of flies in the latter part of the year.

Report Check-In

Stayed next to the boat launch because there were 2 other people in the other sites. As others have stated, the flies are crazy here. They place is good enough for a night while traveling through. There are train tracks across the river with the occasional train but no bad.

Report Check-In

Sharp turn off the main road. Down a bit of a hill, take a right at the sign. One waterfront spot, a big open turn around, and a boat launch. Lots of flies. Ok for a night, but not the kind of place I’d stay at for too long. The train went by at least twice in the night, not terrible but also not great.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot by the river. Campsite established with allowed camping for 10 days out of 30. A couple of spots but just one by the river with a fire ring. If full could easily stay on the flat tarmac used by those parking in the daytime for the boat launch. Lots of flies. Saw a river otter! Train noise and people fishing coming and going. Good signal and pit toilet! Very nice spot.

Report Check-In

Boat ramp with campground and separate parking area we are in. All clearly marked legal for camping up to 10 days in any 30 day. A little noise from road across the river and a few trains going by but beautiful view of a scenic river.

Report Check-In

Great spot. I actually didn’t stay at this exact marked spot since a bus was parked there. I took the road to the left when you come down on the fork. It’s just a short dirt road that ends at a little turn around circle. There is room for 2 vehicles but I had it to myself. I wouldn’t want someone else there- you’d have to squeeze together. Gorgeous view!! No fire ring. There’s a sign over here that says 10 day camping limit within 30 day period. Also, there’s also a little parking lot just past the site (w fire ring) that is marked here so there should definitely be a spot available.
Beautiful and quiet

Report Check-In

Great location to spend a night, camped in vehicle tent. Occasional cell service, allows you to stay 10 nights still. Road is well maintained. Train did come by at 11pm but otherwise very quiet to stay. 2 official campsites and a large gravel area where up to 6 vehicles can park just right of sign.

Report Check-In

Very peaceful place. Had a great sleep here in the middle of a long drive.

Report Check-In

Nice place! As described by others. I found it to be clean. There are even kid sized life jackets for free loan at the boat launch. 3G for Verizon, LTE for FirstNet. I had the place to myself.

Report Check-In

Great place to sleep if you like trains and automobiles. But better than sleeping on a parking lot in Twin Falls or Boise

Report Check-In

Stayed night at smaller spot to left. Did hear some trains in the evening but not bad. Nice view.

Report Check-In

the turn in off the main road is a bit hairpin. I made it in a long wheelbase duramax hauling a 16 foot trailer no problem but a bigger trailer might be tricky. I wouldn't hesitate to bring a class a down. it's nicer than most campgrounds.

when I clicked view in mapping app it gave me the wrong directions. it's about five minutes off the 84 and the name of the place is the Frank C Jones king hill acceas area you can find it on google maps

Report Check-In

As noted by previous reviewers, a lovely little spot by the river. Trains are not an issue, only a couple of freight trains heard.

Report Check-In

OK spot for a night stop. There is a train track across the river and trains can get loud but don't seem to run overnight (one went by at 6:30am).

Camping is officially permitted here for up to 10 days.

Report Check-In

It was a simple and quiet spot as others have noted. There is a sign up now permitting up to 10 days of overnight camping. Verizon service was off and on, but I will likely make this a stop again. The stars were amazing!

Report Check-In

Very quiet and secluded spot. Parked our van down by the water where a fire ring is located. Up the small hill was a truck and trailer camped for the night. Our dog loved swimming in the river.

Instagram @rex_thegx
Place was great. I’ve included pictures of multiple places to pull in a few rigs. There was Sprinter van parked in another spot so if you have a crew of 3-5 vehicles this place would accommodate the group easily. Apart from the trains that went by blasting their horns, this place is peaceful and quiet along the river.
Strong word of caution!! The coordinates from Google maps was way way off. I would highly suggest bouncing from this app to your navigation of choosing and drop your own point to confirm nav is correct.
I can answer any additional questions on Instagram.

Report Check-In

If you go right at the sign, there is a larger lot with plenty of space for multiple vehicles. Nice spot to spend the night right on the river.

Report Check-In

stayed here on thursday night into saturday morning and the first night it was just me and another van and then the rest of the time it was busy. it is summer on a public boat dock but no one bothered me. people pulling fishing boats in and out and people coming to float down the river. there are otter or beaver and they will swim right up to you. i would say don’t park in the actual lot but there is space for two or three cars in the camp spot, no big rigs only vans or cars. road is dirt but well maintained any vehicle with any clearance can make it. there is no cell service at all. i heard the train come through during the day but didn’t hear it at night. there is mild shade and there’s also swimming. this is definitely a spot local kids come to party when there’s no one around and they were disappointed i was there. oh well. i would stay again, 10 day limit.

Report Check-In

Beautiful setting on the river. There are 2 designated tent spots but a larger gravel parking lot as well. About 6 vehicles camped here. The train noise didn’t bother me, they don’t use the horn, so it’s just occasional sound of them driving by. Well worth the otherwise very quiet & pretty setting. It’s not very far off freeway either so that is nice if you’re just pulling over for the night. Would definitely stay here again.

Report Check-In

It was fine for a night, but the train was loud in the middle of the night a couple times. If you have nothing else, “it’ll do” but nothing special.

Report Check-In

It is an awesome Boondocking place found on this app. It’s my first Boondocking experience using iOverlander and I absolutely love it and enjoyed the reviews prior to deciding on whether I wanted to stay here it did not disappoint!

Report Check-In

Nothing else wild listed from here to Ontario so we stopped early. Had our choice of spots on a Friday at 4pm. Train tracks are directly across on the opposing bank of the river but didn’t hear any trains after dark. Very windy up on the highway today. Not quite as bad down here. Lovely view of the sunset on the water. No bugs. Saw two pelicans float by! Bit of broken glass.

Report Check-In

Great camp spot on the river with a level place to park near a fire ring. Besides the train and minimal traffic, relatively quiet.

Report Check-In

Really beautiful spot on the river. Easy to get to with our 22" van. There is a boat ramp, so longer vehicles should be able to easily use that to turn around to exit. Several trains went by at night, so it wasn't exactly quiet. But all in all a nice place to boondock

Report Check-In

Amazing free camping. Turn right at the sign - there is one large pull out on the left by the river, and one more secluded on the right.

Report Check-In

Perfect place for a little get away… 2.0 from I-84. Good phone service ATT and Verizon. I was here for about 18 hours. Only one vehicle came in, and they left quickly. There is about room for three vehicles total with good spacing. The river is literally right there. There is a train track across the river and it can be kinda loud, but they don’t blow horns or anything so it honestly didn’t bother me. There are pit toilets and as otherwise described.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot by the river! There are essentially two areas to park (three if you come in daylight- on the roadside left of the sign) one is to the left. This is where the dead end gate is. Fairly flat, and enough space for my 24 foot van. Got good morning sun.
The spot to the right is near the boat launch. There was another similar sized van parked there. Completely shaded in the morning.
Intermittent train noise, but mostly cows :)

Report Check-In

2 other RVs on site when we arrived in the late evening, still plenty of space for our vehicle with roof top tent. Verizon phone has service. The river is beautiful and this spot feels peaceful.

Report Check-In

Spacious, perfect for van. Loaner life vests, clean toilets.

Report Check-In

Great site, just as described by others. Plenty of cool birds and an otter swimming back and forth.
Until 10pm, there were no other users at the site except one fishing boat returning from the river. At 10pm, an older white van with no visible license plates crept past our site just as my family was going to sleep. He stopped for about 20 minutes in complete darkness just past our site and eventually got out, but just then a nicer adventure van pulled on to the dirt road. I watched the guy jump back in his van and leave immediately. It might have been totally innocent and nothing to worry about, but it seemed strange to me.

Report Check-In

Very nice quiet, level spot right on the river bank. Established fire pit, pit toilet over by the boat ramp about 100 yards upriver. Some boat ramp traffic in the morning. Great spot if you like trains, there's an active track right across the river. Sheriff came by around dusk just to check on the area, camping is allowed.

Report Check-In

Right on the river. Very pretty - very limited space for campers. Train goes by and some car traffic. Boaters will show up at day break.

Report Check-In

Didn't stay the night, but I wish I had! Lovely spot next to the river. Most noise is cows mooing and gulls quacking. 10 day camping limit posted.

Report Check-In

nice place, some train noise across river. has pit toilets

Report Check-In

Small little boat launch with 1 pit toilet. Steep dirt road going down and sharp turn at entrance so probably not suitable for a larger RV but van is fine. Train tracks across the river not bad with ear plugs on. Stayed 1 night and overall quiet. Not far off the highway.

Report Check-In

Single camp site with stone fire ring. Established boat launch with vault outhouse. Right on the Snake river. Train can be noisy, but otherwise serene and scenic.
