as advertised. 2 nights stay. bath house and shower. I got in at 9pm after a long day on trails. deployed my RTT, rooftop tent and crashed. I always use earplugs in urban areas.

Cracker Barrel with designated rv/camper parking for bigger rigs. There was just one Class A with tow. I parked my Class B at the back of the lot. Quiet night. Staff leaves by around 11 pm, There is some highway noise from I-64 but it is at a distance. Was woken once by commercial garbage truck. There is a Starbucks nearby for the morning.

Coordinates are not valid. We tried to navigate there but had to turn around since you’re not allowed to drive there as it’s a private Road. Added a pic for you guys to see.
There is an official place in town only 6 mins from the closed road that’s pretty good (you can find it on this app): water and toilets 2 mins from there available.

Good place. Toilets clean and water available. During the day the road nearby can get busier but in the nights it’s really quiet. Would recommend!
But please try to park on only 1 parking spot, when I got there the trailer that parked there was standing on both designated parking spots. I parked on another and nobody bothered so it wasn’t a big deal. ☺️👍🏽

Lots of parking. Truck engines running but earplugs work. Paved and level, clean area, trash cans, lighted and safe.
Easy on and off the freeway.

This place is beautiful and perfect for my family and I with our 2 dogs. Plenty of room, water and hookup for electric if you want it.
I did want to make a correction and that is there is a place to pay just as you enter the park. A box for pulling out a yellow envelope and drop box to place your envelope with payment.

wanted to stop here but the dirt road looked really muddy and not passable in our 2wd minivan :(

We had an issue with one of the tires on our Ford Transit. Found these guys on Gmaps and stopped by without appointment. They were able to take us right away, located the issue (damn screw!) and fixed it. Fast and professional. 3000Colones

15 USD per person plus 2000 Colones parking. Online reservation needed which you can do at the pay stations using their WiFi. Park opens at 8AM and we got in as early as possible. Still... within minutes the crater was covered by clouds. Luckily only for a short while though until the clouds started to burn off. As previously posted, no more crater lakes or steam so this is definitely not our most impressive volcano. Really, if you wouldn't know it's a volcano... you wouldn't know. I'd look at this as just a different picture of Costa Rica. An high altitude, alpine landscape with amazing views of the surrounding mountains, valleys and, if you're lucky, oceans. Besides the main view point at the craters, there is another viewpoint up above which is accessible via rough road but wasn't a problem for our camper van.

This place is no longer closed. Didn't see any signs prohibiting overnight stay.

Great spot that’s easy to get in and out of. Fairly level but windy. Two bars of Verizon.

there is a tree down blocking you from entering the end of the road. big disappointment after driving down the very narrow road.

would not recommend for any rv or large vehicle we have a 4x4'd Ford Econoline and barley fit we scratch the side of our van on both sides. very over grown. almost no where to turn around so when we got to the tree down we had to reverse almost the half the road back.

We went to the Customer Service and ask if we can park for the night. The clerk tried to reach manager to check and she said she couldn’t find him. She recommended to park on the street and didn’t know if it was ok… we didn’t take the chance and left.

We bought some petrol from this Chinese run logging set up. 15k CFA for 20 liters, after we almost ran out between Lalara-Lopé-Franceville. Next fuel available in Lastourville.

Managed this road in a Land Cruiser as it has recently been rebuilt, but had some difficulty with the mud and needed a tow from passing lorries.

this place is awesome we were the only ones there but there was a space enough for one more car in a little more secluded area( more trees so not the same view) and maybe even a very small tent a little past that.
so many stars and a little fit pit at the end. camp for one night with no issues.

The only complaint is that clearly previous campers left their toilet paper all over in the bushes to the side. come on ladies pack it out or drip dry this is how beautiful places like this become illegal to camp.

As described. Super popular and pretty quiet. Good amount of space between sites.

Very quiet night. I was the only one here! Great cell reception. There is a Walmart here too with no signs.

Called in to confirm if we could stay before we did. We parked along the Canadian tire’s edge at the furthest end of the lot, which looked decently level all along the edge. They have groceries and dinners for take out.

We stayed here for three nights. It was quiet and next to the board in the adjacent marina.
We met the local police who were not worried at all about us staying here.
Signs say payment is required for parking but in 3 days we saw no one checking and didn’t get a ticket.

Camp here. This is the spot. I got in there with a big ole 2WD sprinter van, but the road is dicey. There’s one camp site that is okay, but if you’re an excellent driver like me you can get down river side. Very private and comfortable for a night, super dog friendly.
