Big deep puddle near the road. Too deep even for 4x4. There's a narrow gravel road heading south to sulphur creek. Leads to an open, flat area with a fire pit and the most amazing mountain views you can wish for. Plus a great wild life observation spot towards the creek. High chance of spotting moose or bears!
Better than places by Kluane Lake as this is hidden and further from the Alaska highway.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice views. I have a 14’ trailer AWD that was enough to get to the spot did not need 4x4. As said, it's a bit tight but doable. It's not level.
Report Check-InWent here with my Chevy Astro van. Was just right enough to not get badly scratched on the side. Everything wider could be a bit harder. Incredible view of the mountain range and someone already had prepared some firewood. Thank you!
Report Check-InWe checked ahead with our jeep. Too narrow to try with our 37 ft Class A. We don't mind branches but the trees themselves were pretty close in on both sides & not certain we could turn around even if we did get back there. The gravel/grassy area by the road is accessible but very bumpy and our blue ox dragged twice going in there. We opted to camp elsewhere.
Report Check-InThis is a nice little gem off the highway maybe 1/2 mile. The road was narrow and not too steep except for the very last part. I wouldn’t do it in a long wheel base or RV. Our Sprinter Revel scraped the bushes a bit and we did fold on the mirrors but otherwise no issues. Beautiful views. Virtually no mosquitoes…yet, nice breezes and clean. Please help keep it that way.
Report Check-InAgree with the name. This is a great area. we stayed at the first right turn on high elevation with a clearing to see critters (if around). Please help keep this spot epic and clean.
Report Check-InFabulous site and impossible to beat view for dinner. Easy to recommend but no water access. I wouldn't take a sedan down the access road but SUV/truck ok.
Report Check-InEven after rains could do it in our awd no problem. Good spot and view no water access. 2 bar telus on the higher spot
Report Check-InSuch a great spot, we came here twice! I haven't forgotten it since our trip to Alaska, and now that we're heading back down to the lower 48 (nearly 2 years later) we had to find it again.
Stunning views. And mosquitoes were minimal thanks to the wind
Report Check-Ingreat spot! two sites near the road (one on each side) and two more down by the cliff. the road down can be a little rough but the views are worth it. no spots to turn around so you'll have to commit.
Report Check-InAs others have said, amazing views of the mountains and despite what some have said we parked two ex-military 6x6 trucks in here no problem.
Report Check-InWow, worth coming down for the view alone. Narrow road but made it down in our Class B+. Drive all the way to the bottom of the road and there are 2 great spots. Enjoy!
Report Check-InPossibly the best camp we had in the Yukon. Incredible views, fire rings. Space for 4 vehicles, even for one big rig. But not sure if they’d fit coming down the road
Report Check-In10/10!! visit here if you can. great spot for a camp fire and views. just take the road there slow
Report Check-Inwanted to stop here but the dirt road looked really muddy and not passable in our 2wd minivan :(
Report Check-InAbsolutely stunning
Everything is still as described.
No animals for us!
As other voyagers said, this place is really nice and the view is amazing! A bit of mosquitoes though but the fire kept them away ;) please let this place clean!!!
Report Check-InAll still the same. One of the most stunning views we've had from a wildcamp spot in a looong time! Highly recommended! No facilities. Free.
Report Check-InThe description of this place is accurate. It is probably one of the most incredible views of any place we have camped in 3 years. Perfect for several days. We were able to get cell service but it was a little weak.
Report Check-InStayed one night alone with the mosquitoes. Thanks to the open space, there’s a light breeze that push them away sometimes.
No sights of furry friend.
The road is narrow (no truck camper or RV, I think) and watch for low clearance. We are low clearance (class b Roadtrek) and we were ok. There are two spots at the end, one or two on the way.
View is amazing. It would be nicer in the morning if no clouds.
Great spot. About as narrow as a full size SUV, 500m off the highway. Keep it clean!
Report Check-InBeautiful and very quiet. Narrow road but ok for small camper or vans
Report Check-InWonderful spot, not for RVs but great for a van! Good to have binoculars 😊
Report Check-InAbsolute fabulous views!! There's enough room for about three small campers and if it's full, there's another pull-out further up the gravel road for a 4th. So, much more space than we expected from the descriptions. No water source though.
Report Check-InAs described. Amazing views and super quiet. No bears for us though ;-)
Report Check-InBreathtaking view over the mountains. Really quiet. We saw a bear at 20m in the morning so be clean and it will be alright!
One of the best spot we had for these past 3 months in Canada ;)
Our rig was too big to fit down the road so we camped on the hill to the right just after turning in. Sweeping mountain views and a grizzly bear! highway noise was minimal.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot. Enough space for two parties without being too close to each other.
Report Check-InPerfect Place with Mountain view! There is a nice fireplace!
But not for big camper vans.
No facilities - but wonderful!
I do agree, spectacular view and very quiet! Worths a stop even just for a picture!
Report Check-InSadly this spot was taken when we came but there are plenty of pull outs on this road leading to it! Still nice :)
Report Check-InBeautiful views, lots of bear activity. At least 3 sightings within 100 yards. They didnt seem to care much for us, lots of berry bearing shrubs nearby. We had a roof tent, not much space for rvs bigopger than a van, nor is it completely flat. Million dollar views of Kluane National Park.
Report Check-InThere's a narrow gravel road heading south to sulphur creek. Leads to a flat area with a fire pit and the most amazing mountain views you can wish for. Plus a great wild life observation deck towards the creek. Saw a couple of moose this morning.
Better than places by kluane lake as this is hidden and further from the Alaska highway
