site 101 was prefect for our Pormaster van bc you only have a neighbor to one side, away from foot traffic heading to bathroom (despite it being close to bathrooms) and shade from tree. Surprisingly quiet despite how close to road (120). there are only 2 toilet stalls and 1 shower in each bathroom but we never had to wait. I was told you could also use the Lodge bathrooms and pool too. conveniently located near Yosemite's Arch Rock Entrance. would return.

Over two years stealth sleeping and this is the noisy place I've ever stayed. Maybe it's a Wednesday night thing but there was a street sweeper that drove around for over an hour between 1-3am almost, weaving between every single rig camped out here. Then the garbage truck pickup came around 4am, also very loud. 10/10 would not recommend.

And yep, 2024, still no overnight parking- the Walmart manager will knock on everyone’s van at 11:30pm. We pulled in because there were about 6 other rigs ready for overnights. Manager said there are signs posted everywhere and it’s a Newport Beach city ordinance…..signs do say violators are subject to arrest and prosecution. Confirmed that is is, in fact, a city ordinance.

Pros: Nice place to stop. No signs prohibiting overnight parking. Separate truck parking. Not busy. Pretty view.

Cons: Smelly pit toilets, no sinks, spotty/no cell phone coverage.

Exactly as described. It's very beautiful and we liked this camp spot the most in this area.

Good official Orange Store. Far less busy than the one on the main road. I payed 1000 CFA for the Sim-Card.
On the opposite side of the road there is a small boutique where you can charge a credit. I payed 5000 CFA, so I can get 7,2 GB of Internet.

The hotel is at the location of the other entry. Cheap and clean rooms with own bathroom for 5000 CFA. Electricity all day long. He first told me all the rooms for 5000 are full, but then “found” another one.
No wifi but 4/4 bars of LTE connection with Orange.

We slept 4 peaceful nights in the square next to the Chapel, a quiet place close to the center, bakery, market, pharmacy nearby. Friday and Saturday at the Municipal Market. Water tap near the square next to the trash cans.

Great location was hard to find a spot so we parked in turn around and walked back down so we were able to find a spot highly recommend doing so. There were many people who pulled in but couldn’t find spots even though more were available due to spots being tucked away in trees. We stayed at spot 7 was perfect. The soil had lots of rocks so pitch tent behind the two big trees.

A lovely place! We had a great time, the view was amazing, very quiet place. The lady cooked us delicious food with organic products from her garden. We were together with our dog, it is a pet friendly place. The toilets are very clean, hot shower also. Fair prices. We had a great time and we will come back for sure!

Okay beach for the close proximity to the city, charging 50 each for entrance. Clean beach but bar area still under construction, they have a slanting dirt carpark. Beer was cheap once inside Amstel 30. Food in evening but did not try.

Manu, the owner will make you a crazy paella. Everything is explained, he is Spanish. The plus: you can see oropendolas birds. Their nests are right in front of you while eating. A spectacle of pendulous birds not to be missed. Manu is a kind-hearted and very warm man. A step not to be missed.

beautiful rock formation around. perfect to climb. was not windy. very quiet. some Bedu camps few Kms away. very remote. sandy tracks to go there. only 4x4

a big part of Hisma desert is now fenced and you can get in through this gate. you will have to register car and people and can get in for free. it closes at 19pm and rangers are controlling inside.
looks like soon you will have to download your entry tickets online so check before going. you can find the track from the gas station

Very expensive place. we paid 172 mad for 2 Adults and 2 kids. Wifi did not work. place was covered in smoke all morning because the neighbors? decided to burn something. lots of flies.

Came after they closed and remained stealth. Not a great sleep, seemed like a busy night with random kids/people passing through but I was left unbothered. Left early.

because water is rare in this area, we were happy to found this tap. its in front of a house at a palm tree. you can park right next to it

cave with free entry. nice place when the sun goes down. take a 30 minute walk to get here or just 10 with 4x4

One of the better Cracker Barrels that we have stayed at!

Nice option during 24/7 days. A fair bit of road noise but felt safe under the lights. I believe there is a parking spot under an archway that has 10ft clearance. Didn’t try it but might be a nice option if you’re trying to get out of any bad weather.

Superbe camping près de l'eau. 30$ la nuit + 2$ par animal. Toilettes, douche chaude (.50$ les 5 min), eau potable, vide sanitaire. Tous les services sont au rendez-vous !
Possibilité de faire du kayak ou de la randonnée sur place. Le gérant est juste adorable !

Excellent service! We had just completed a very muddy crossing on Ruta 40 from El Chalten and our camioneta was full of mud!! We found this pinned on IOverlander and it was great for us! The chicos working there started on our vehicle straight away. Completed in 30 minutes.

Waterblasted everything thoroughly - paid $10,000ARS (May 2024)

3 days ago passing north to south on our way to El Chalten - no problems - snow and poor visibility but easy gravel road for this non pavement section.

Today - returning from El Chalten north - we were thankful to have a 4x4! Thick mud, ruts and snow drifts. Not many cars on the road - had to help out a 2WD pickup that was stuck. so pays to check before you leave when crossing this section in fall/autumn or winter 👍

Great easy service - very small container-like YPF. A bit more expensive than in Gobernador Gregores (1190 vs 1140ARS for diesel p/l) but not bad considering it’s remote location!

Paid in cash - 95 and Diesel infinia available today (2May24)

Showers $4.25 Canadian. Arrived about 7:30 pm, 1/2 hour before the pool was scheduled to close, and the universal showers had already been cleaned and were unavailable. Both men's and women's showers were lukewarm changing to cold, apparently a temporary maintenance issue.

Nice and quiet area, campsites are fairly spread apart, we had the whole place to ourselves in early May though I can’t speak to how busy it is normally. Cars go by occasionally, seems like locals use the boat ramp located just below the campground every so often. Large storage boxes for keeping food away from animals. The parking spots are fairly small and the actual campsites are separated by stairs (I believe they are separate at all 5 campsites) so you can’t pull a car/truck right up to them. There is a sign/envelope to pay $15/night (it used to be $5).

We were looking for an easy place to stay for the night in a truck camper. Other reviews say there is 2 hour parking limit here, that is referring to the Tennessee rest stop / welcome centre just a minute down the highway on the other side of the border. THIS rest stop (KENTUCKY welcome centre) is free overnight parking, very clean large bathrooms, vending machines, water bottle fill station, right beside the highway but traffic noise didn’t keep us up. Very reasonable place to sleep for the night, especially since the transport trucks are on the other side of the building so the engines running aren’t audible like they are at other rest stops.
