This is a great spot for surfers! We stayed 5 nights and paid $7 per person. Decent sized lot for campervans and there is a palapa for tents and hammocks. You can’t get closer to the surf! Owner was friendly and we could use the stove, sink and bathrooms. Shower was the only thing lacking because it’s a bucket shower. Water was refreshing and clean. The road from las Flores to Punta mango is mostly paved now but the last 300 meters to get to the camping is narrow and rocky. 2wd can make it tho. There is a restaurant, pupuseria and little market that sells water and basic groceries just up on the main road. It’s a great place for surfers!

Came for a couple of days, ended up staying 8! Gert is great to communicate with. Mathias is the owner and both are so helpful. We discovered we had a broken engine mount and Mathias arranged for Felipe, a mechanic, to pick it up, take it to a master welder and have it delivered back to us. Great work. The campground has what you need, actual water at each site, nice shower, electric at sites is low voltage (supposed to be 220) but it ran our charger fine. Great hiking right out your door. When you communicate with Gert via WhatsApp he will send you a video with instructions on how to get to the place. Fine for our big truck, no clearance issues. We had a great stay and really recommend this spot. It's great for a break and to clean up your rig.

Nice little find. We were running out of options after the campgrounds in Capitol Reef park were all full. IOverlander for the win! Had the entire site to ourselves, and no other traffic all night. Has nice fire pit rings and trees for some shelter. Setup our outdoor shower and really enjoyed the remoteness. Would definitely stay again!

Nice lookout just off the access road. Rather lumpy and not level but that’s what blocks are for. There’s a barbecue with a bag of charcoal here so it seems to be regularly used. Great view of the mountains. Two bars Verizon 5G. You can see highway 4 but little noise.

Street parking in Germantown. About 4 blocks from the capitol and very quiet. Short walk to the baseball stadium and restaurants. Had windows open with lights on and nobody bothered us. Pretty level in spots.

Easy border, ignore the helpers. Officer who checks entry docs on bridge entering Honduras tried to get bribe, said I had to pay a fee since El Sal didn’t give me an exit stamp. If you speak any Spanish you can make your way past this BS and be on your way. If you don’t, play dumb and she will let you pass if traffic builds up. Officers at Honduran immigration and aduana were very nice.

Fantastic camp site! Friendly check in with Tjaart who gave us all the info we needed. We had campsite 7 near the pool. Absolutely fabulous. Great ablution area, braai spot and even a fire pit if you wanted. Spectacular views of the mountains around us and the stars were incredible as there is zero light pollution out here. Water and electric available at the site. Wish we could stay longer! Highly recommend this spot.

Delete from the village with a lot of choice. It is here also that we get the keys to the Albergue Turistico Yayamari, if you are at the hotel the wifi is available here.

Safe from the wind in a old house, without a roof. Close to the Chimboyo summit. Quiet and quiet. Space to put a tent, around there are other possible locations. There's also a shepherd's cabin. NB, we are on a bicycle trip.

Update: at 1am some locals came to the car and were shining inside with flashlights. After seeing us and staring through the window a little they left and we weren’t disturbed for the rest of the night.

Similar to past comments, few hikers come and go into the evening but becomes very still and peaceful after dark. I parked at the spot next to the mini bridge/ creek to be out of the way as I saw some cars would drive in just to do a U-turn. 1-2 verizon bars and 0 t-mobile service.

Internet just in the reception area. An unused room (no. 809) has a working electric socket. If you have an extension cable, asked the guard about connecting.

Really quiet spot when I visitied, but be aware, it's meant to be parking for the trail, which it's right on - so please be respectful when parking, don't block the trail, and respect the hikers.
The day use area for the dam is about 15 minutes walk max if you need facilities.

Marked dispursed camping along this road. We stated at spot 6. It was a massive very flat spot far from the road. The road is paved from most of the way from Prescott but then it turns into a very well groomed dirt road.

There were a lot of people leaving RVs or cars in spots to hold spots which was a major let down. Most of the spots were also right on the road.

Though spot 6 was a great location I won't be coming back. Too busy, too many people.

As advertised. Good directions getting in here from 82. Decent road. It’s 1.9 miles off the blacktop so very quiet and peaceful. However, this site has been camped hard. There is lots of trash including cans, odds and ends, 12 gauge shells and I saw a syringe without a needle but that was probably nearby!
Ok for one Thursday evening stop. Just beware.

Small parking lot along the river, nice area with trees to walk and flower garden. Not the quietest due to traffic and not the most private due to nearby houses, but fine if you need to sleep somewhere near the city. Toilet short walk on the top path in the direction away from the bridge

14 $ if you have an annual pass for national parks.
Beautiful spot, was veeery windy.
with a 2wd, be careful when choosing your path, they are sandy, we saw a big camping car stucked in the sand. But if you are careful it's fine.
free dump station with potable water, but we did not drink it (water color was a bit yellow).
