This is a road underpass for a river, but if it is dry, it’s a nice option to set up a tent. Not visable from the road (which is hard to achive in this flat area) and road noise is not that bad either. Can be entered right behind the guard rail (coming from the south/east). All in all a good place for a night.

Noce spot across the street from the River. Pretty level for our van and quiet. No cell service on TM. Only 4 cars came by in 14hrs. A few more spots along the route none were for large rigs. Exact coordinates for this spot in the pic.

Do not follow the GPS, look at the map and navigate to the Airport. Than find the dead end road. Otherwise you end up on the highway.

It's more beautiful here than it seems on the map! We spent 3 nights here.

Stayed 1 night. Nice spot right of a quite road with fire ring. Easy gravel road that should be fine for any vehicle. Good signal with Verizon.

Much like everyone else's comments, the owners were super friendly to us dirty cyclists. We initially walked away as there was no shared room option and private was expensive but they came and offered us a private room that usually has ensuite for 50Bobpp, and simply locked the ensuite off. Nice clean room and comfy/warm beds. Gave us a super generous lunch for 25bob, and a generous afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast for 50bob each. Same deal as before for WiFi and shower. Really recommend!

Very nice spot at the beachfront, plenty of palmtrees for shade. Meet nice people there who helped us to start our campfire. Safe spot

East border crossing, no issues with either officials.

Road on SA side to crossing was a little rough and muddy.

there's a asphalt top and you could actually camp under the bridge too which is what I did because it was raining horribly. there's also a little drive turn around that's Pebble. It's got a nice Beach with some looks like swimmable water, oh look a bald eagle flying around. around. that looks to be a cave about a thousand ft away. downstream. but note if you sleep under the bridge you're going to hear cars go over all night.

A very good option to stay overnight if you are in Murillo. It's only one block away from the main square and down the road there is a gas station. At Ksa Andinda there is enough space for two big campers. The bathroom is really clean, nice and comfortable, there is hot water to shower. The owners are very friendly. We paid 10.000 for two persons and the car.

We had here a great night. Everything very fine. The owner were very friendly. We had our dinner in the restaurant (it was tasty), and we camped there for one night.
you can also use the big swimmingpool for 5 soles.

And they have lovely dogs.

Definitely a bit well worn but it worked for one night. Bathrooms and water were still off for the winter season but there were two gas stations within walking distance with clean bathrooms.

We fit our wide rig, just barely, into their gated slot. There is construction going on, so you have to drive the wrong way down the road a short distance to get to it. Very nice people!

All of these designated backcountry campsites require a $10/night permit, reservable starting 24 hours in advance, in person at one of two visitor centers: we did so at the Panther Junction visitor center at opening time (8:30am). The original set of coordinates are not correct – maybe my posting this now will correct them?

Road in from the paved road from the south is definitely rough, requiring decent high clearance. We were fine in our Ford Transit 4x4 camper van conversion (QuadVan conversion, 2” lift, all terrain tires, etc).

It’s interesting to see that there are plenty of good pull-off spots even just along the short distance between the paved road and this first site, coming from the south, but none of these are legal. There are only a handful of allowed, designated “backcountry” campsites along this road and the others in the park. Dispersed camping is not allowed in the park.

Une enveloppe à glisser dans une boîte avec quelques dollars pour un RV, et tout est là : toilettes et douche chaude propre, station de vidange, barbecues avec grille, petit bois à ramasser... très calme et serein, avec vue sur un beau lac. A refaire.

Didn’t realize it was still closed for the season, so stayed in the day use parking outside the campground. Wouldn’t want to make this a “thing” but it worked well for me as I am self-contained.

Beautiful place to camp. You can either park up by the bathrooms pulled into the trees or right in the beach. The beach has areas to pullout in between the trees in the mangrove side of the road, or parallel park off the beach side.

CAUTION: be very careful with the tides here, the first time we came here we camped with no problems. The second time the tide was coming over the road and into the mangrove, so we camped up the road by the bathrooms. Flat and no problems. Just be careful with the tide!
