This place is a dream and well worth the drive up the canyon.

The multiple use palapa is well equipped with everything you need. Fresh cookies, fruits to make a smoothie, excellent coffee in the morning, WiFi…

Filtered Drinking water right from the tap and clean toilets. Campfire in the evening.

We could not do any hikes because of an injury but they must be excellent from what we heard.

Just prepared you are gonna stay longer as expected!

Clarence and Isabel are beautiful hosts.

Parked in the sand lot between the bathrooms and RV park. It worked for two nights in a row, but I think a little of that is because it's pretty dead right now. Fishermen come by for a few hours then leave. The bathrooms aren't the worst, you at least get your own room. There's a drinking fountain and lots of trash cans. Good luck!

Free Campground. Lost Big Creek. Pit Toliets. Trash Cans. 7 mile drive down gravel/dirt road from main paved road.

We stayed one night at sight #8. It was right next to the creek and had a fire pit and picnic table. Once the sun went down there was a lot of people driving fast through the campground with loud exhaust and bright light bars. We decided to pack up and leave around 12am because we didn't feel comfortable. It's unfortunate because it was a very nice sight.

The mountain road to Medina is supposed to be closed (big road sign when arriving at Al Sudayrah) but finally possible with 4 wheel drive (I climbed it with a bicycle but saw few cars going). It looks like they are making another road not far, to avoid this flood-prone valley

Good car wash place with a ramp. Perfect for our car and also specialized in truck washing. Very friendly people. We paid 6 rial for full wash (engine, underbody and normal outside wash) & greasing the nipples.

Good place to have a hot bath and warm up. Arrived at 7:30 pm and it was closed. First people and woman with key came at 8:30 am. 500 ARS entry fee.

We took the boat to Puerto Natales. Booking email says vehicles load at 4-5pm, but in reality it was after the 6pm ferry to Rio Bravo departs from the same ramp. Don’t sweat the loading process. Many people with vehicles stand around anxiously jockeying for position. Don’t be like that. Its a waste of energy. There is no ‘line’. No first come first loading. Just park your camper wherever there is space near the ramp. For most campers, this was at the parking lot by the cafe. When it comes time to load, a boat staff will figure out how to fit all the camper vans, the ‘Tetris master’. He will simply point to you, that means its your turn to get on the boat. (Which you will have to back up onto the boat). It does not matter who arrived at the port first. Don’t worry about trying to time your loading so that you’re at the front or the back of the boat. (It doesn’t matter anyway regarding engine sound).

Food is edible, but forgettable and never satisfying. Its made to keep you technically alive while maximizing boat company profits. Pro tip: If your breakfast is a cold and sorry-looking ham and cheese sandwich, take it back to your camper and fry it for a decent grilled cheese sandwich.

Shower rooms are gnarley and tiny but doable. Take a shower before the Caleta Tortel backpacker/cycle crowd gets on.

Enjoy the views!

Very nice empanadas, but pricey at 3500 each. No place to sit inside though. In contrast to what others said, the old lady is nice enough. But she sure looks like she doesn’t take attitude from travelers.

Didn't stay, road blocked off and made apparent that camping is discouraged, only access to area previously mentioned is an illegal bypass around the road block.

Inquired at reception at Portuguese only speaking elderly man, the caretaker I guess. He explained that they eofk with buses, and recommended to go to Miranda, the next village.
Good call, I guess.
Very complicated Website, unclear whether the offered "packages" actually exist.
Perhaps a satisfactory stopover, but certainly no departure point to explore pantanal.

Stunning campsite. This is as wild as camping can get. Beware of wildlife takes here another level. Elephants and hippos close by all the time. Also watch out for baboons.
We drove through the long stretch of thick sand from campsite two but on our way out, we took the straight road back to the main road. 4x4 necessary but no troubles. It hadn't rained, so mostly dry.
Amazing views of the floodplain and river. A must stay when driving through Caprivi for all those brave enough.

tip: just before reaching the gate, turn right to reach reception. Check-in is the yellow building even if the signs say otherwise.

I'd like to echo all of the comments here and say it is worth the detour if you're driving along highway 84. The landscape is so beautiful and you can hear the river running and birds. Very peaceful. I also had one bar on T-Mobile.

Camping with 2 people + tent:
The camping area is in the end of the terrain. It allows as much as 20 tents. The area is very well protected from wind and very quiet, we slept there for 3 nights very well.
Bathrooms are OK, they are cleaned 2 times a day.
Showers are scorching hot, i mean if you don't open some cold water they will melt your skin.
Wifi non existent.
Electricity is there, but very few sockets.
Parrilla is allowed only for partners in the club (the camping is a club), tent dwellers can't use it.

Not sure why this was marked as closed. We stayed a night with a few other campers and had no problems. Not sure if there are signs ?? But we weren’t bothered.

You can officially camp there for 100pesos / night. Good if you plan on climbing there but quite expensive for what it is. You can exit at 8am when the guards change shifts or 7pm is the last call

You cannot camp here !! It's only a 'day camping' to do some barbecue on a wooden table. The gate uphill closes at 21h. There is a cafeteria to eat some 'comida rapida' and buy chips and cervezas.
