BLM campground Huntington OR Snake River
Really nice. Established blm campground. Beautiful view. Felt safe. It was a little windy but besides that it was really quiet. Looks like the road in has be recently paved. We only payed $2.50 for the night with our America the Beautiful pass. Looks like you can pull over before the campground and camp along the Snake River shore as well. Would definitely suggest stopping here.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Cool place, very quiet! Potable water available, $5 a night to stay. The worst thing about his place was the heat, even when it was cloudy all day it was still 97°! Snake River road to get here was a twisting narrow road with a drop off on one side, I just went slow and it was fine. Had two bars with AT&T.
Report Check-InIt is basically two gravel parking lots in a nice place and one nicer spot at the top of the hill. If I could have gotten the nice spot or a parking lot of my own, it would have been nice. We did not stay there, but moved on.
Report Check-Inanother overnight after a snowy trip across the Blue mtns. same results, quiet, no one else around except the deer, coyote, and rabbits.
Report Check-Insame as what everyone else says, cool spot! bathrooms are not maintained in the winter, but they are still unlocked.
Report Check-InI'd like to echo all of the comments here and say it is worth the detour if you're driving along highway 84. The landscape is so beautiful and you can hear the river running and birds. Very peaceful. I also had one bar on T-Mobile.
Report Check-Inarrived after dark, no one here but a few deer bedded down for the night. pit toilet in sight, 2 verizon bars. level parking area with picnic tables.
Report Check-InReally beautiful spot. Free in the winter months with hardly anyone around. Clean pit toilets with toilet paper and surprisingly nice smelling. Some of the pull offs along the road are pretty steep and sketchy, so happy I went for this place in my 30 foot skoolie. Picnic benches and fire pits as well.
Report Check-InNice spot, very quiet on a Thursday night.
A Fee of 5$ for overnight parking. There are free pull offs along the road but often steep and very rocky so we preferred this paved road with our old Chevy Van ;)
It was okay. Noisy from the ton of boaters around. A bit trashed. Upside, lots of spots available on a Friday and it is beautiful nonetheless.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot by the river at a very reasonable price. Quiet and a camp host on hand.
Report Check-InFantastic campground. Very clean, lots of space for tents. Enough room to park a few big rig RVs. And the drive in is very easy. Pit toilets only, but there is clean water at all spots. 5$ to for overnight or 2.50 with the America the Beautiful pass. 10/10 will come back.
Report Check-InQuiet and free February 3rd. Nice spot spot next to the Snake River. lots of picnic tables alongside a long parking lot where you park your rig. easy to get to.
Report Check-InThe road is quite bumpy and curvy getting here. overall a good little campsite.
Report Check-InGreat little BLM campground. Free in Winter! Clean pit toilets, picnic tables. It was windy while we were there but we enjoyed skipping rocks onto the river. Also saw a bunny while exploring one of the hills. Great view of the mountains. Trains at night didn't bother us.
Report Check-InGreat little established campground next to the Snake River. We were worried about the road to the campground based on other reviews but had no issues--it was curvy and narrow in spots but we had no problems in our 24ft motorhome. The campground is really quiet and clean, plus it looks like it is free during the winter months. Good Verizon 4G signal.
Report Check-Insame nice place. $5 over night. clean long drop loo. water. just the used to be river now resivoir is ugly.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Thought it may be questionable but it was an established blm camp ground. We only had to pay $2.50 for the with our America the Beautiful pass. It seems like you can pull over before the campground and camp along the snake river shore for free if you want. The road to the campground seems to be recently paved. It was a bit windy but besides that it was quiet and we felt safe. Beautiful view. Saw several deer close up. We would definitely suggest stopping here.
Report Check-InGREAT campsite! Right on the water, secluded and beautiful. Free campsites all along the road, feels safe and quiet
Report Check-In$5 camp fee. Pit toilets, potable water next to the snake river. Nothing fancy but it’s quiet.
Report Check-InRight next to the Snake River. There are a lot of free spots along the river road, but there is some shade plus toilets and water here. Be warned, Snake River Road is kinda scary. Not wide enough for two cars in many spots and the edge is crumbled away with steep drops down to the river.
Report Check-Innice place and very cheap. just make sure you dont set up downwind of the fish cleaning Station.
