Beautiful and safe place next to the beach. Facilities are basic. Our kids enjoyed the swimming even that the water was nit crystal clear. Bought coconuts. 380 pesos - RV + 5 persons

Small, 15 site campground in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. Water, flush toilets and showers are available. Hot in the summer. Some small trees and ramadas provide minimal shade. Nearby rail line can be noisy. Leashed pets only. Lots of interesting history in this State Park.

Wifi 6$ for half an hour! I’d rather try to connect with a bear in the woods rather than paying that price. Shame on them.

22.60 a night with free firewood. First come first serve campground with fire pit and potable water. Beautiful views, especially the lake. The place was relatively busy and we came the second day it was open for the season so I guess it might be busier in the summer months. No hot water or showers but the outhouses are honestly kind of nice.

We spent one great night at parque Aurora. We paid 200L for 2 adults, our kids did not pay. We could use the showers and toilets (without tp). All very clean. We had the huge park for ourselves. We arrived a little late but the next morning the kids played in the playground and visited the small zoo and we didn’t have to pay. Very far from the main road (5 min drive) so very quiet. We had a very peaceful, quiet and safe night there. We could also fill up our tank. Many tables, fire pits and garbage cans. Very clean. Very recommended.

about 30 RV sites with full hookups and septic at each space. Stayed in the small tent area. there's a rushing creek running through the park that drowns most of the road noise. Bathrooms with free showers are modern and very clean. Brewery attached is excellent and food is great. wifi ONLY works in the Brewery. host is very friendly. there are also three dry cabins with heat for $45/night and we tried to rent one but got creeped out by spiders so tented instead. lots of water fill spigots but apparently there's very high lead in the groundwater here.

Totally free camping in an okay place. You can pay for hookups, but we didn't. It was HOT even though the wind was over 22mph steady with higher gusts. The lake is very low so you can't just walk down to the water to cool off. Most sites here have a double sized shade structure and 2 picnic tables. There was a lot of little trash (dozens of cigarette butts and many bottle caps and lids mostly) as well as broken glass in our campsite and more, bigger trash in the brush and down the bluff. We drove a short distance to Cedar Canyon to swim, but just waded a bit: TONS of trash everywhere there. Cedar Canyon and in our campground were almost full of campers, but it was Memorial Day weekend. Positive: about an hour before sunset and after sunrise, the temperature is very nice and the wind let up. Although it seems like a lot of negative, we'll try it again as the price is right.

We stayed at a pull-out 20ft ahead of the one fixed in this app. Great spot, little road noise when you sit outside, but nothing to be heard in the car. Amazing stars!

Unfortunately, the space marked here can no longer be used because the city has set up a parking ban there. Instead, there are two areas with parking spaces along the boulevard.

One is near the restaurant "Het Strandhuys".. There are 6 parking spaces, but they are very, very, very narrow. We stood next to an alcove and were just able to get out.

The second at the snack bar "La Playa" has 5 parking spaces. These are much wider, which makes standing here much more comfortable.

Both areas are located in such a way that only a small road and a bike path have to be overcome to get to the beach.

This is the booking office for the ferry that runs to Bukoba 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). There are 3 classes. First class gives you a 2-person bedroom (45.000 pp), second class a 4-person bedroom (30.000 pp), third class you stay on the deck or in the bar (16.000). Reporting time is 19:30pm, departing time 21pm. Normally arrives in Bukoba around 6-6:30am. There is a restaurant and bar on board, quite lively with Tanzanian music and alcohol flowing freely. I stayed in first class, which was on the first floor. Bunk bed, neat, clean sheets and a functioning plug and small desk. Recommended to buy first and second class tickets a view days in advance since they tend to sell out. We entered with 2 bicycles which they weighed before boarding, total costs for the bikes was 16.000. Possible to enter with a car as well, they told me for a land cruiser it is around 150.000 but depends on the weight. All in all good experience!

We stayed here for 6 nights in slightly different spots each night.
NOTE: On 26th May there was a shootout just 1 block south of here at 5pm.
Several lively local residents approached us & warned us that the block immediately to the south was very unsafe.
There were 2 police patrol cars parked nearby 24/7 to deter trouble.
We found the people here very nice and saw no incidents ourselves but decided to move on in case we pushed our luck.
We suggest some of the nearby streets a block or two north might be a little safer.

Really cool place! 4 bath tubs that can all be adjusted and filled using soft balls, or one has an actual plug. Cows freely roaming around and there is a fun pond where frogs and cute little goldfish swim and croak. I was alone here and it was so quiet. Check out the images for the google maps route!
