Description

Absolutely perfect place to spend a night or two. Reminded us of camping back in Canada.

Massive, gated turisto parque. Includes a very clean pool, clean cold showers and flush toilets, boat rentals for the small artificial lake, horse riding, and ALL the camping areas! Many dispersed picnic areas with benches and fire pits.

Closes at 4pm weekdays, (or 5 can't quite remember. Think it was 5.) Gates lock and a security guard with a pair of dobermans wanders around.

As of february 2024, it‘s $100l per person per night for camping plus $ 50l for the pool.

We were the only people around at night (Wednesday) A dozen police swimming in the morning, team building?

If you keep left of the pool and go past the concrete pitch before crossing the river on your right you get to the GPS spot which is round the back of the lake on the water, a 3-minute walk across a footbridge to toilets and showers.

Very large national park. L150 for one person to camp with a moto. Basically pitch wherever you want. BBQ pits and tin palapas. Cafe on site. You pay extra for the pool. This is a heavily used locals haunt during the day, reminds me of National Parks in Oz… YouTube:

Amazing recreational site, where it seems they only let overlanders spend the night. We were all by ourselves here and had the adorable horses come pay us a visit. Still 100L per person per night. Clean, quiet and beautiful.

Stayed here on Sunday night. When I got here the park was very busy with the local. The park closes at 4:00 pm. It got nice and tranquil after that. Camping option all over the park. You can stay for extended time too. The night camping fee is still 100L.

Beautiful, large park with bathrooms benches, lots of shade, a small lake, showers, a cafe on the weekend, a pool and even an animal sanctuary and lots and lots of space to camp.

Besides all the Juan Pablo, the manager and Anna Maria the owner are two of the kindest and most helpful hosts in any of the Americas.

If you need to get to Tegucigalpa, this is the number of a very nice driver who took me around to San Juancito, Canterranas and Valle de Angeles.
Oliver - +504 9813-1763

And this Juan Pablo's number, the manager - +504 3169 0162

Everything in this park is very clean, well organized and it feels very safe. The security at the front gate will let you in until around 6.

You can also dump your black water here if you ask, whicc is very rare around this area.

In case the park is closed, when you come - as it was, when I arrived here today at noon -, you can call
+504 9454-6025
and tell the Doña on the phone, that you would like to camp. A guard came and let me in, and they where so nice, to open the pool for me, too.

Stayed here two nights as it is a great place.
The first night, we parked in the far back corner. The second night was far more interesting as there was a forest fire on three sides. Literally the trail we hiked our dogs on that morning was engulfed in flames.
We were the only campers and the military and fire crew watched out for us, we felt safe and very surreal walking right in a Forest fire.
Business as usual the following morning and the facilities were great. Only the main bathroom and shower area is open all night, we opted to park far away for privacy (we have dogs) and do the walk but that is on us.
Highly recommend.
Don’t worry, no damage to place. They worked through the night providing firebreaks. They didn’t even want my help as I offered to work with them.

Great park! Actually cold for sleeping at night which was a huge relief after the heat everywhere else. 50L/pp to enter for 1 day and another additional 50L for the vehicle for camping so we pay 300L total for 2 person for 2 nights. We arrived just after 5pm on a Monday and we're afraid it'd be closed. The guard so no problem and called Juan Pablo, the administrator, who must have just left, and he came right back. He's extremely helpful and happy to host overlanders. Awesome place to just chill for a couple of nights in peace and quiet and cool weather!

nice place, clean & tidy, cool & very quiet at night, BBQ s with ranchos & seating, cold shower, bathrooms & pools.
The zoo is actually rescue animals, they get sent here by the people & by government officially, previously the government funded some of the costs of feeding them but now it is all paid for by the park despide more animals being sent here.

Lots of places with benches and BBQ place for everyone to park and enjoy. Its 80 acres of land to explore! In the evening we are all by ourselves. Tranquil. There is a security guard in the night. Feels safe. Juan Pablo who is in charge and speaks good English is very helpful.

Amazing place for overlanders! The park is huge, it includes toilets, showers, playground, swimming pool, lake, river, forest, horses and many cabanas.
They don't have wifi / phone signal (but they are working to offer it!) and they are pet friendly. The manager Pablo is very welcoming, and he is an overlander/traveler himself. It was extremely quiet for us, but it can be busy during opening hours in the weekends.

Really nice place to camp, great facilities. 100L pp.

We spent one great night at parque Aurora. We paid 200L for 2 adults, our kids did not pay. We could use the showers and toilets (without tp). All very clean. We had the huge park for ourselves. We arrived a little late but the next morning the kids played in the playground and visited the small zoo and we didn’t have to pay. Very far from the main road (5 min drive) so very quiet. We had a very peaceful, quiet and safe night there. We could also fill up our tank. Many tables, fire pits and garbage cans. Very clean. Very recommended.

Nice place to camp, especially on the other side of the lake (coming from the entrance). Still 100l/pp. Cold showers and clean flush toilets. Very quiet and no bugs. Every campsite has a picnic table, garbage can, and bbq pit.

This is our second visit to this lovely place. We spent 5 nights here for 500l. Everything still the same but I notice that they are making improvements to the areas. More BBQ pits and a lot more garbage cans scattered around. They have added more benches and fixed up the ones from before. Very clean place to stay.
