Can recommend the place. Friendly owner with a very big (and friendly) dog. Almost like a calf, never seen a dog big like this.
Small machine 2.5$
Dryer 2.5$
There is also washing powder for 2$

16$ for a day pass for a gym, a cardio room, different group classes by schedule, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor and outdoors hot tubes, steam room, a dry sauna. Good showers with fans, wetsuits driers and a cold plunge pool. Community center was closed, so it’s the very good alternative!!

This place doesn’t exist anymore. There is another hotel in the vicinity, 10k CFA for room with fan, 15k for AC.

The road access is still blocked. We also slept next to the spring a little above the road, but there was quite a lot of traffic. Even at night there was still traffic and therefore quite loud.

We were a bit unfortunate: made a (prepaid) reservation for two nights. when arriving, they didn't offer a single of their (website) tours (no guides? and waterlevel too low). As well the electricity did not work. We stayed only one night (no refund for the already paid night) as there was really nothing to do.
So check before paying your stay if they do tours or not. 400pppn is pricey we think.

This area of the Chobe NP is highly recommended. We saw many elephants and hippos and the paths near the river are very beautiful. We didn't see felines. It's a free safari

What a lovely place! We were welcomed by Jose in a really heartwarming way. He opened up a chalet for us with hot shower in a very clean bathroom, we camped in our car in front of the chalet. Still 10US$ ppn.
Had a peaceful and quiet night. Don’t miss that place!

In our opinion absolutely overrated.
14US$ for a normal size piece of cheescake, that was good, but not the best we ever had, is too much.
Coffee: we had an espresso that wasn’t what you would expect, instead a big cup of normal coffee with average taste, but sure not an espresso italien style. We also had a cardamom coffee, which was tasteless, also just average, watery coffee, but topped with very sweet cream- but no cardamom taste at all. Each coffee was 7US$!
The surrounding is nice, but is definitely not worth driving up just for overpriced and average cake and coffee.

Great place one of the best we have seen . Club house with kitchen, modern bathroom and hot showers. possible to rent kayaks. A bit more expensive in high season but in Mai 23000 pesos for 2 people avec a van. Private table, chairs and sink.

We felt like we hit the jackpot - a gorgeous spring day and a nice quiet little camp spot for the night. Felt great sitting outside until dark and not freezing.
Plenty of room for the dog to run around and play catch and even go for a swim.

Good place to spend the night. The rooms are very clean and quite comfy, with private bathroom (45 pesos). I didn't get hot water but I think there should be (It didn't matter to me so I didn't ask what's up).
There's WiFi, but for moments it doesn't work (the rest of the time it is correct).
The hostel is super quiet, but because the city is super noisy everywhere, you will hear noise from the street.
Many tasty Peruvian restaurants in the area.

It is right next to the Kalahari Highway (campsite about 30-40m from road) so very noisy whenever a truck or vehicles goes past.
If going to Nam, carry on to the rest camp just past the border, quieter, cheaper, better facilities. If exhausted and almost dark it’s ok, but definitely not a place to aim for as a trip highlight.

Nice spot with lot of room for any RV size. You can hear the highway since it is pretty close, but not so annoying. Had a great night

Place is permanently closed. Came on a Saturday and they told us we couldn't stay because of an event. He told us to come back the next day, so we did. However, when we arrived on Sunday we were told that the governed doesn't allow foreigners to stay here anymore. A bit weird but we couldn't change their minds. No clue why as they wouldn't give me a straight answer.

Not allowed to stay here. Military said it is unsafe.

Edit: we had some car trouble while being here so we had to stay here overnight even though military said it is unsafe. Had the most peaceful night here in the whole of federal Iraq. Just be careful for your tires, lots of glass and nails around. Gorgeous spot to camp. Biggest downside: quite a few tiny tiny biting flies at night. Ok internet reception with Asiacell.

Had to give one passport in exchange for a visitor card, show this at the next checkpoints. Got back passports the next day when we left the area. So not allowed to exit Samarra via the road up to Abu Dulaf and Tikrit. You have to go back the same way. But you are free to drive up to Abu Dulaf minaret and return the same way for your passport. This minaret is worth the detour as you can get up close and climb it while the one in Samarra is still closed.

Still closed. They don't have a clue of when it will open again. Go to Abu Dulaf instead, free and nearly as impressive while you have it all to yourself.
