Since this is a beach spot, I'd only recommend it if you have 4WD. There's no problem with swimming or getting into the ocean here. It's rocky, but if you have some kind of water shoe it totally works.

Very exposed, not a lot of privacy. Many spots with fire rings, so you’ll definitely find a spot. Road is not great, but possible with a 2WD.

Good for an overnight stop. New city parking regulations limit parking here to 2 nights in any calendar month. See photo of posted sign, including ordinance number.

Just a decent size pull out on the outside of the turn. Place near the Maverick was a bust in winter so we came down the road to find this place.

The “road” to get close to the overlook, wild camping spot, seems to be ever changing but you’ll find a route to reach it that’s flat and a safe distance from the edge.

You’ll hear road noise overnight & the winds might be a bit more than your weather app states coming up the canyon BUT it’s worth it!

Comfortable and affordable Guesthouse in Chamba Valley, in a big and beautiful garden.
Rooms range between 350 and 500 Kw.
Different options are available, incl. rooms with fully equipped kitchen.
AC, cable TV, laundry included.
If you stay longer (or come back) they will give you a discount.

They have two places, which are nearby (200m), but not connected.
At the second place they now have a small chop, and a kitchen, which serves food.
Signposted from the main road!
The access road is in dire state, but will (hopefully) be graded soon.

Highly recommended. Lucy and Luis have created a very homey place despite the remoteness. Lucy met us at the gate and made us feel like old family friends from then on. Warm showers, nice Refugio with wood cook stove, and nice flat grassy spots for tents in the trees with ample wind protection. Many small features that make it downright magical, from interesting woodwork and use of gnarled branches to the “cisnes plasticos” swimming through the irrigation ditch. One decent river to ford by vehicle with a mildly sketchy footbridge for those on cycles or foot. Beautiful views, trails, very clean, and an attentive host - just a few reasons to make the “dificil pero no imposible” trip to Fundo de San Lorenzo.

Nice dirt lot. Deathly quiet and peaceful. 2 other campers overnight. Vault toilets, but must pack out trash.

7500 elevation. Ok campground. Small sites, most fairly close to another and not level. Dirt roads seem soft in spots. Most loops are closed now in the off season. Showers and flush bathrooms closed. Some pit toilets are open. Fantastic sunset.

Excelente camping! Com áreas de churrasco, cozinha compartilhada, uma pequena mercearia no local. Vagas para barracas (algumas com cobertura). Muitas árvores, energia. Banheiros limpos e chuveiros com água quente. Responsáveis pelo camping muito amáveis!

It's a lodge with campsite from a local NGO that supports projects in Nairobi. Very quiet place, far from the main road.
Rooms also available.
Camping 500 for 2 people.

They have a local bakery and some other local products.

Lovely people, very nice place if your in transit between Mombasa and Nairobi.

Visitei o local porém não fiquei, não encontrei ninguém na recepção e não sei qual valor cobram, parece que a administração está desorganizada.

Fifteen minute drive down a sandy road, 4wd preferred but we made it in our transit connect with fwd. The road was pretty packed down but there were moments of losing traction. The weather was ideal, so maybe after a big rainstorm it would look different. It’s also another five minute drive to the Batona campsite, which you can reserve spots at online, with fire rings and water etc and I think is $5pp per night.

It sits right on the Batona trail which is a 50 mile trail that runs the length of Wharton state forest. We went on a hike to Apple Pie hill took a few hours and was really beautiful and wild.

This camp spot at these gps coordinates is right off the road, big and open. It can fit a few cars and we were the only ones there in March on a Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. But I could see this spot being popping mid-season. There was a pseudo-fire pit and some cool trails to walk down.

If you keep going down the road toward Batona campground there’s a pull off to the right with a few more spots before you hit the bridge.

We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, it was super peaceful and quiet, just a few jeeps drove by on Sunday afternoon because the sandy road sets it off the main highway quite a bit. Definitely the best dispersed camping I’ve found so far near philly, only an hour away. Also recommend stopping by The Evergreen dairy bar on route 70, 10/10 chili dog.

Overall, great spot, serious gem.

Away from the usual noise and light pollution and supposed to be the darkest place in Qatar. Access fine for all vehicles and swimming possible although shallow at low tide.

Came here to crash the night before crossing the border. Huge puddle blocking the entire road right before the campground. I walked it in my sandals and it is very shallow but muddy. Didn’t want to risk it at dark alone and with only 4WD

Sorry; my phone autocorrected to “4WD” from “AWD”. Mud puddle would be fine in 4WD I’m sure

Very noisy, they organize lots of events (weddings, etc) and those days you'r not allowd to eat at the restaurante, using the Pool nor shower. Better staying at Cabaña Mar y Sol, beside Hotel Cataviento if looking for a cheap option or at Sirenito Camping with ta turtle rescue project.

Nice quiet night. Park is basically a dog park in a very nice neighborhood which is worth exploring on foot. Note that this site is probably not suitable for anything larger than a class b.

Same great place, with some improvements - a new entrance and the common area is fixed up a bit.

Dora as always is accommodating. She took 20 USD in lieu of 350 Pesos.

A good quiet, safe, peaceful night.

An absolute beautiful area. Even the Walmart down the road is spectacular though There are no overnight parking signs everywhere at the Walmart. No signs prohibiting you from staying at this Home Depot but we were very paranoid about getting kicked out just because it’s a great one! But we didn’t, completely undisturbed.
Cleanest bathrooms for the morning. When they open at 6 AM though, it’s very loud! 😂
