There is now a sign saying camping prohibited. Lots of people were there with their trailers so we stayed overnight and the cops came at midnight and gave us a warning that camping is not allowed at that particular spot and if we are there a 2nd night, we will get a 100$ parking ticket. The only place that is tolerated is at the Arena.

Got in around 11pm. Walmart was closed but lots of food places still open. Lots of people car/van/camper camping. Which I expected since it is a holiday weekend. Surprisingly quiet. Please keep it clean.

To clarify there is not a potable water fill at this dump station. If you walk into the rest area I’m sure there’s a water fountain but at the dump station the spigot is RED which denotes non potable water. Potable water is usually marked with a green spigot/knob/pump.

Incredible beach to stay the night classB. Our RV parked the nose right in front of the waves. When we woke up, tide was 1.5 km away from us. Make sure to stay for low and high tide! A small « hopewell rock » just for our us. Wow. Will always remember this boondocking night!

We parked our combi to take a swim un the river. When we came back, someone broke our passenger lock and robbed every electronic device we had... laptop, phone, camera...

Lots of people park here their cars for a swim and in fact some people recommended us this place, but after our experiencia, in this área never leave your van alone except in a really safe car park.

3 or 4 good level gravel spots tucked away. Clearly intended for people to stay the night.

Great spot that isn’t super crowded. Still $15 paid by envelope after hours. It is an amazing view of the mountain range, amazing sunset behind you, beautiful sunrise right in front of you. We are here in Labor Day weekend and there are still spots available unlike most other places completely full.

Quiet night. I parked in the upper section a little further from the road. Porta Potty at the trail head. No one else here last night, but hikers started showing up at six am. Unfortunately no view this time as I was socked in with clouds, which is not uncommon for this area. Otherwise a great spot. Some signal with Verizon.

Choice limited in this area so this place gets crowded. Vans squeeze in close to share view. View of mountains if you get front parking is beautiful. Some noise due to saturation of campers, but most respectful 10pm to 7am. In high season, 4 euro cars, 20 euro motorhomes. Clean toilet. Dump. Water. Gravel. Cycle to the lake 4.5km.

Grand espace pour s'arrêter avec vue sur le lac. Beaucoup de traffic venant de la route toute la nuit durant cependant. Prévoir des bouchons d'oreille

People’s previous comments refer to two different locations, which was a bit confusing.

For clarity: If you get off the freeway at the Fourth of July exit and drive up Lakes Divide Road (south of freeway), you will quickly come to a fork in the road.

If you go left at the fork, you’ll be taking Forest Road 614, a dirt road which will take you to the exact coordinates of this iOverlander location. The coordinates are for a trailhead parking area that has space for maybe 4-5 regular size rigs, or 1 or 2 bigger rigs. Not totally flat, but not bad. I stayed the night here and just a few cars drove by me up the forest road. There are no pit toilets at this location, but they are nearby (see below).

If you go right at the fork, you will continue on a paved road and quickly come to a big paved parking lot which is flat, has ample space, and has 2 pit toilets. However, the sign at the fork in the road says this is a day use only area.

Perfect place, clean, safe, relatively quiet (very close to the market). Hot showers and clean toilets, electricity available next to the palapa. Paid BZ$ 30 for the night for 2 people in our camper. Didn’t use the WiFi.
