Beautiful campsite. A bit more expensive, but well worth the money considering the unique location and the facilities. We stayed at Orion, next to a water hole. Own abblution with hot water (solar). 4x4 route is very nice (approx. 10km). Can also recommend the game drive (2hrs) at 525N$ p.p. The guide takes you deeper into the desert and you realize the campsite area covers only about 2% of the reserve.

We had a good night hiding behind the toilet building as we were not sure if we could camp there! Neither the less we had an awesome time. Photographing the Milky Way. There was some visitors until late from Aus but after sunset it was quiet. We saw a silver jackal, horses, ostriches. Perfect spot for one night.

Bom lugar para passar a noite. Você tem de ter sorte para achar vaga durante o dia. De segunda a quinta é fácil achar a vaga a noite. Quinta feira de manhã tem uma feira frutas, legumes e com bons produtos locais.

We had such a lovely stay at Maabwe and a very warm welcome from Margot and Richard. We wish we could have stayed longer. The showers and bathroom are fabulous. We camped with a view over the lake and our friends took rooms with air conditioning, perfect in the heat. Best of all was all the valuable information and contacts about where to go and who to book with which made our stay in Zimbabwe so much better than just sticking to the tourist routes. In fact when we had a breakdown a couple of weeks later they rescued us with trustworthy contacts for who to go to for repairs. It’s really worth a stay here. We will likely go back as we’d like to take a trip on the lake and maybe go fishing and just relax a bit in the breeze there.

Nice place, great views. The owner of the farm nearby is the nicest guy! We bought some of his goats cheese, he made us some coffee too and chatted to us.

Not too many sites but the views were really pretty and the sites has campfire rings and tables. Good amenities for what otherwise looks to be BLM land.

Not sure if these are legit spots, but the hilltops in this area all have dirt roads leading up to the top of them. Full bars ATT and Verizon service. Made it up here in a 2wd E350 but it’s a 7.3L and we’re skilled off-roaders. Wouldn’t recommend trying it for most 2wd vehicles or if it’s wet. Beautiful 360 degree views from the top.

Wasn’t much train traffic when I was there, and highway traffic died down a bit at night. 1 other car camped here. Nice to have toilets, picnic table, animal-proof trash cans.

As described. Decent spot, but a bit close to a major roadway that has traffic most day/night. It's not horrible, but not silent. Mosquitoes are still bad on Oct.

Nice and clean campsite with small swimming pool. Many guests but not as dense as in the Kruger campsites.
A few hundred meters from the Kruger gate, a restaurant on the other side of the street, an supermarket and gas station nearby. Perfect to enter Kruger a few times.
Paid R980 for two nights, one site with two adults and two children.

Leaving the city Palos Blancos, we turned right in the second path that starts with sand (indicated on maps.me) we drove a little before putting us under a tree, the atmosphere is really quiet, the feet in the sand (there is not much Hide from the road without any passage. We were safe, I love the place !! ok for the van and 4wd but not for big rig ..

We enjoyed this spot and found it to be quieter than Ritchie’s Wharf (where we also spent a night). The trails are wonderful! There’s another large parking lot for French Fort Cove on the other side, on Cove Road, which might be even quieter as it’s farther from the main road, but there are no washrooms there.

Javier and his wife are really nice and helpful. We spent a night in their campground, nearby the road, but noise was not a problem for us. Food is also good after a day of driving. Excellent place to stay and hope to be back in a few years when everything will be perfect.

Everything as described. We ended up staying here for 2 weeks. You soon get the hang of the big heavy metal gate! Our 2 year old loved the play area and use of owners tricycle. The area has everything you need in terms of running errands and there is a few things to do in Mexquite de Carmen, such as a Zoo, a cool statue to go climb up, and a local fair on the beach every Sunday. And of course accessing SLP is not difficult. Pedro and his wife are so hospitable. We want to thank them for welcoming us and treating us like family.

Paul, Katlyn, and their team are fantastic; they have great goals and have made a quick start them. We managed to setup our rooftop tent on the cliff edge (5,000mkw pppn). As previously said, there are compost toilets, a washing up area, showers are slightly further away but they’re working on that. There’s a stunning restaurant/bar area with places to hangout (hammocks, couches etc.) with a view over the rolling hills and of Lake Malawi. The team make delicious burgers and kombucha (we tried flavours of ginger, hibiscus, mint - couldn’t get enough so had some everyday!) sold at reasonable prices (5,300mkw and 1k mkw per glass). Katlyn showed me around their permaculture garden as she picked us some lettuce/herbs (1k mkw per bunch - depends on the size); the large garden was impressive - worth a visit. The route to The Mushroom Farm was reminiscent of Leopard Hills in Zambia, or Sani Pass in South Africa/Lesotho - if you’re keen for a fun drive, head on up!

O camping tem água e energia. Os banheiros perto não estavam habilitados por ser fora de temporada, assim como o mercadinho estava fechado. Dormimos 3 noites no nosso motorhome e amamos o lugar. Super bem cuidado, área preservada e praias lindas!

Pretty spot to camp good for big rigs and also to pitch a tent in the pines. However bring your earplugs with you as the dogs bark the whole night and they are just around but. it aggressive.

Beautiful beach with lots of space around. It can be really windy (especially between December and March) as there is not much shelter.

Stopped for a 3-hour swim and showers. Our daughters loved it. Rock bottom mineral spring pool, workout room, store, snacks, towel rental, etc. Has two giant slides, kiddie pool area, water volleyball net, and lots of open pool area to swim. Day passes available. Plenty of parking for large rigs. BBQ food truck across the street was great, too.
