The hosts couldnt be nicer people! They said many times they do this for the love of travelers and that we were family and this is our home. We would have stayed longer but it was pretty hot in our van. Dream hosts! To the border tomorrow morning early to beat the heat :)

Ideal place to stay if you are going to cross to El Salvador or the other way around since it is very close to the border. The owners are extremely friendly and always made sure we didn't miss anything. There are bathrooms, showers and plenty of space to camp and walk around.
We are very grateful to them.

Nice relaxing place to stop before we tackle another border crossing. The owners are very nice and accommodating. Electricity at sites, 20 amps, showers and bathrooms available for use.
Room for big rigs, our 36 foot Class A motorhome made it in with little issue.

One of the best experiences we ever had. Javier rescued us after his friend saw us parking at the supermarket, where we were about to be kicked out. We followed him to his place in the total dark and parked the camper. Only the next morning we could see the beautiful place. What was supposed to be for one night, turned out to be 5. Together with other guests we arranged the dinner for New Years Eve and had an amazing party going. Thank you Javier and Isabelle for taking such good care of us.
I recommend this place to everybody that comes through here, you will make new friends.

The beauty of traveling is meeting people, incredible hosts with their hearts in their hands. We immediately felt at home with Isabela and Javier and we spent 3 nights there in complete peace and quiet. If not for the mosquitoes which are very aggressive and numerous in this season, we would have settled in for longer 😅

Report Check-In

A lot of crafted things for the Kids there! zip line, quads, mini football field and so many things to discover... For free. You can donate or simply help them to work in their place. For the night, owners leave the place and close the gate, you feel secured because it is caméra checked. definitly à place to stay!

Fantastic place just before (or after) the border.
Javier is an incredible guy. Went out of his way to get us water, he gave us electricity which meant he had to get out two extension cables.
Ha didn’t ask for money, we gave 50qtz for one night.
Look no further, this is the place to camp in the area.

Report Check-In

Wonderful place to stay, Javier is a real gem and a really nice project to support.
Camping with power, showers and wifi. Hammocks. Close to road but wasn’t too loud at night, 40km to Salvador border. Really great spot to stay. Just be aware of lots of ants if leaving food out.

Report Check-In

Also, the owner said it’s donation based. Give as you feel led. He’s super kind and brought us banana apples.

Report Check-In

Made it in my 13 m, 41 foot Skoolie. See pictures. TIGHT but doable. Also there’s a large spot for 2-3 rigs in the front by the road. Safe there too but more noise. Insist on here if you aren’t excited about the tight turns. We made it however

Report Check-In

If you drive from or to the border Guatemala / El Salvador at Hachadura it is a must to stay one night at Javier!
The very large camping site is charming with its strange constructions and playgrounds. Big enough for any camper.
There are showers and toilets and many abandoned vehicles in which you can sleep.

And all on a donation basis.

It was a very nice stayover - I highly recommend!

Nice place, just of the road. Good showers and nice owner. Did leave in the afternoon so I am pretty sure that we were alone on the property. Also the gate was closed when we arrived, but owner opened it after a couple of minutes.

We stopped here after reading all the wonderful reviews and iam so grateful we did. An issue with my trailer was alot bigger than I thought and Javier has all the tools and the knowledge to get the job done. iam so happy we landed here and are not stranded on a hwy somewhere!!

Report Check-In

Believe the reviews. Quite possibly the nicest people in the world. Paying is by donation; we went for a walk and when we came back they had put a doormat outside our van to help with the mud; my girlfriend went to the washroom building just after dark and couldn't find the light switch, and without being asked someone just walked across the whole property and turned on the lights for her. There's a workshop to fix your vehicles, they have a little snack restaurant with reasonable prices, and about 1000 things for kids to play on/with.

Absolutely incredible travel spot.

Everything has been said about this nice place and the incredibly kind owners! We actually just wanted to stay a quick nights on our way to El Salvador but ended up staying two. Please make this a stop along your route and support the project with a donation. These are the places/people why we travel in the first place...

Report Check-In

Great spot, we stayed one night before we went to El Salvador. There is a lot to do on the campground, especially for kids. The campsite has cold showers, a place to work in your car, a cinema inside an old car (with aircon!), a BBQ, fire pit, fitness area, playground for kids, and more. The couple that owns the place all made it themselves and have tons of projects more to finish.

They take donations and we gave them 75Q for the night.

Report Check-In

Such nice people. Showers, toilet, fitness area, wifi, cooking space and a lot of space to park with your van. Directly next to the road but convenient if you are heading to the border. Few animals around (goats, chicken and a cute little Chihuahua). Loved the place.

Report Check-In

Absolutely blown away by Javier and his wife's hospitality. Everything as described below - great bathrooms, great food, lots of animals, he lets you use the quads and bicycles and has a big property to explore!

Report Check-In

Excessively good people. This couple is incredible. They offer so much to travelers, they have been traveler as well and "know what are the needs". The owner let you use his quad for whatever you need, we had to go buy some food and water in town, was easy and fun that way ! The bathroom is large and with light.
We recommend this place.
There is place to rest hidden from the sun.
Large terrain, goats, chicken, quad with circuit.

Report Check-In

An absolutely lovely stop. We stayed here for 4 nights before crossing into El Salvador, and the owners were extremely welcoming. They offer good food and drinks (non alcoholic) at all hours of the day, and medium speed wifi. We were welcomed to use their quads and air-conditioned "movie room" (a converted van) all for free. Cold showers and clean bathrooms. The gates are closed at night so it feels very safe. Make sure to give them a donation at the end to thank them for their hospitality, and say hi to their adorable mini chihuahua Todo (Toto?), he's so so sweet.

Report Check-In

Javier and his wife are really nice and helpful. We spent a night in their campground, nearby the road, but noise was not a problem for us. Food is also good after a day of driving. Excellent place to stay and hope to be back in a few years when everything will be perfect.

Report Check-In

The perfect stop off to the border. The owners are lovely people. We were offered free showers, tools, water, coffee and quad biking, which is great fun. Javier is possible the nicest person I’ve ever met. We stayed three nights doing some work on our kombi, which he helped us with too. They didn’t want any money but we wanted to give a donation as they had been so good to us. Highly recommend before crossing into El Salvador.

Report Check-In

As described, great owners, great place! We ended up staying two nights as we had a blast riding the quad/ dirt bike, ziplining, etc with our kids.
Javier also offered us to help store our car for two months, they are supportive with just about anything!
Absolutely amazing stay and friendly people.

This place is great. Run by a couple who makes you feel welcome and safe. They don’t charge for camping but we advise giving them a donation because they are such great hosts. The campsite is simple. Doesn’t have any hookups but a place to park vans and concrete pads for tents. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. They have a small snack bar with café, agua fresca, burritos, hamburguesas and other light meals. Please stop by if it’s on your way a support a great small business.

Really fun place. Totally self made by friendly and happy couple who runs the place. They have a playing garden, quads, a climbing area and lots more. Also they serve cold fruit drinks and hamburgers.
