Was trying to get to the up the hill campsite, google maps took me the wrong way! This site is equally as beautiful, and has an existing fire ring. Full 3g service with verison, fast video streaming speeds. Very isolated, not one around for miles. Road up here defiantly requires high clearance, would probably be better with 4wd but I was fine in my subaru. Road is very rutted so plants in the middle will scrape your undercarriage, beware.

Apparently, Suriname has an e-visa process since July 2022. Limitations are single entry, tourism purposes, 30 days. The application is online and the cost is 33 USD (25 USD e-visa fee + 8 USD service fee). https://suriname.vfsevisa.com/suriname/online/home/entry-fee

Perfect spot. Safe, relatively quiet, and you can park here for up to 3 days at a time. No parking Thurs 3-5 pm, and be mindful of weekdays — this is right by a Catholic school, so try to avoid the school kids coming and going out of courtesy. Otherwise this spot is perfect for anyone passing through and wanting to explore Santa Monica.

I think I am there , I guess it the restaurant of the Tortuga.
Fish, meat... Nothing all vegan about it. Unless it is not this one.
Quite good, on the expensive side, definitely not vegan.

Entrance fee for an adult is now 5$
Pool is not the cleanest I have ever seen but still ok
You may want to bring your sandals with you and also a locker to secure your valuables during swimming. If you want to swim, pay attention to the schedule because « leisure swim » slot only offers access to a little child pool.
There is also a water dispenser to fill up your bottles in the entrance hall.

Free day use at the campground which includes restroom and shower. We came mid week in shoulder season and it was very quiet. The camp host asked if we were camping or just passing through. She said day use is free but they ask for a donation if you stay a while.

Turning in if you're heading north takes some care as there's no turning lane and you need to cross a double yellow line.

Not sure if it's worth it to come up here as it's a ways from the main road, but if you're in a pinch, I guess it will do. Starting to get overgrown on one side. Must have been graded recently as potholes are very manageable. No where to turn around for a big rig. Fire rings are gone.

Paid 20 soles. Very basic, not so clean (I slept in my sleeping bag) but suicidal electric shower was hot (only one working, at women bathroom) and the inner courtyard is good to make some bicycle cleaning after a day on the mud

camped at chambers pass. reg price $50/nt. sr price $32. no fires, no swimming, need $5 fish permit per day. all private campgrounds by the lake. rv sites have power/water. this place has a small store, cabins and a condo. i guess most people reserve but having never been here we didn’t know and there were about 10 sites available between this campground and lone pine.
nice playground for the kiddos.

Really nice Love's with several RV spots. There are "no overnight" parking signs, but multiple people in various vehicles stayed. McDonald's and Subway, laundry, showers.
