A camper is 10.000. If someone tells you otherwise, e.g. because your camper is heavier than 5t, they are wrong.
After arguing with the young woman at the counter, we were sent to "the" yellow building, where an older gentleman called the young woman and told her that she's wrong. So instead of 30 minutes we needed over one hour to cross the border.

very close to elefant rock but very quiet. you have a track to follow from elefant. you can camp under big boulders which provide good shadow until noon ;-) (end of April). nice landscape and desert feeling. it was our base camp in Alula. we camped here 3 nights.
only 3 cars passed in 3 days.

One spot at the gate, expansive views, peaceful. Driveway from gate to the castle parking lot is not maintained and the branches are too low, they make it hard to get there. The castle is open, ticket office trashed. Nobody around.
Still- a nice place for the night.

WARNING: We were asked to leave at 8:30pm by a very angry local. He repeatedly showed us his large knife in his pocket as he told us to "respect the rules and leave". As politely as we could, we told him we will pack up and leave. This wasn't quick enough for him and he expected us to drive off that second. We quickly put our dishes away and drove off. This was our first unfriendly interaction in 1 year of travelling in Chile/Arg.

We were politely told by the police that there is no place to park and stay in this town outside of the two designated camp areas. They continually check the areas on ioverlander.

A particularly nice Cracker Barrel parking lot. A very safe area. In my van, I was able to park next to the RV lots on a flat spot. If you are in anything bigger, you will be slightly not flat.

This is a good place to camp. Lots of tables and bbq pits although no grates. Super clean bathrooms and showers with “hot” water. I’m sure pet friendly as there were several non intrusive dogs around. Quiet and dark at night. Great sleeping! Lights and power at the tables.

We paid 50r total for two and a Land Cruiser.

A couple of things to know. There is probably 15kms of washboard to get here. Also, it was windy. That could be a one off but I don’t think so as there is a wind farm across the Laguna.

Overall a good stay. Nice lady hosting the site.

The track to come took us 3 hours from Ushuaia. It is in fairly good condition but a little more holes at the end. After 51,500 km from Halifax, then Prudhoe Bay (point in Alaska the most north of the American continent accessible by a road), we arrived at the most south point in 9 months in total. So happy! We even went for the 8 km round trip to the beacon to go below 55 degrees of south latitude!

8km back and forth hike to a light beacon. No official marked trail. We found that the best thing was to stay close to the ocean because it is less muddy. You will thus pass below 55 degrees of latitude south, further south than Ushuaia!

Lugar bonito e bem cuidado. Pagamos 1000 pesos por pessoa + 1500 do carro.

BLM up a dirt road. Wide open flat ground. The best area is at the end before private land marker. There was a fire ring and a long termer so I went back down the road and pulled off in some grass where I saw other tracks in front of a sign limited motor traffic. Some noise. Good ATT.

Pulled in before the closed gate on Pine Oaks and parked just to the side of the bridge. Little traffic at night. Nice little evening walk aling Pine Oaks. Ranger truck passed by in the morning but didn't stop. Got woken up in the middle of the night by a gator loudly bellowing 2m from my window... No trash, no amenities, good cell service.

Prices go up in the high season to 225 Pula pppn, starting April 1st. If you want to stay here after April but book before then, you'll still pay low season fees. Lots of campsites which are located all over the place, but there's usually at least 4 sites grouped together, right next to each other, often more. Conveniently located next to Chobe NP, with a bar and restaurant that overlooks the river. Ablutions are great and plentiful, with some of the best showers we've had so far

Good overnight stay. A few semis but no engines running. There is signage for RV parking as you follow signs to the casino/hotel once you're on the property. We didn't check in with security and no one checked with us.

Street parking authorized Thursday to Sunday (street sweeping Monday to Thursday 12pm-3am). Had a very nice quiet night on Richard’s street, very few cars/trucks driving by. We have a non stealthy 29’ class C. Alternative parking, allowed all the time, is next to Amazon building on Beard street only few feet away but there’s a lot of traffic with cars/trucks and Amazon employees coming in/out throughout the night (it’s an option as we’ve done it but our sleep wasn’t great).
During day you can park at close by empty (it was both days we were present) Ikea lot (not allowed overnight) and go explore using NYC ferry 15 minutes walk away.

Mehmet wasn't there, the staff told me I could not park my motorcycle inside. Nice rooms, but small twin beds only, and the price is 1000, or a bit over $30, plus a bit more for the parking garage, I assume. I didn't stay.

Michinoeki really close to beach and has nice fruit market and some places to eat but look overpriced. Super busy even on weeknights, and loud motorcycles sometimes. Great bathroom facilities, warm water in handicap toilet… 😇 wifi!! if you drive across the road and up the hill, there is a really nice park with two beaches but unfortunately they close the gates overnight.
