shaderfx | Fairly rough rest area. For RV they send you to the Auto section but there then isn’t really room for RVs. There is a dirt patch you can park on just past the Auto. Some water works. Ok to fill 5 gallon jugs. Would not spend the night here myself. |

shaderfx | Nice mountain view. Good for a night or two. Up to GPS coords is safe but after sand gets loose. Also giant hole in the road. Be very careful. Someone put a mattress spring on top. Maybe to warn folks. But it definitely not ok to drive over. (Pic attached). Unfortunately there is natural gas station nearby with a generator running all day and night that you’ll here in this spot and may disrupt your sleep. Or just drive you crazy. :) |

nicoleborda_98 | THE PARK IS CLOSED SINCE MARCH DUE TO TOO MUCH VOLCANO ACTIVITY, we were not allowed to enter today 12-04-24. Anyway it seems a good place to spend the night outside the park.

joanieross | Gates were closed when I tried to stop here. It’s also right on the highway so I imagine it wouldn’t be great for pets or noise |

pffricker | Now a reservation only campground. Book on the recreation.gov site. 10 sites well spaced out. $12 per night plus the $8 reservation fee. 2 group sites. Good cell service. We rolled in late afternoon and only one site was booked. Booked online and had the place to ourselves. |

gregmccahon | Really nice little campground right on the river. $100pp for the night, it’s fenced off and there’s a staff member that stays the night as security. You can drive your car/van right in, very flat, nice and grassy. Clean bathrooms, palapas for shade. I was here on a Friday night and had it all to myself. 4g service with Telcel. Wonderful place to swim and cool off after a long day!

gmann1906 | Just as described. The last 10 yards can be difficult if you don’t have 4wd. Once you are here, it’s a sweat spot. Highly recommend! |

Fish and Kitty | Ten spaces (basically large parking spaces) that can accommodate any size motorhome, or a truck and medium-sized trailer. Dump station available, but no at-site hookups. $10 permit required to stay overnight, which you can pick up at the County Aquatic Center that is unfortunately on the other side of town, at 2760 Canyon Road. Additionally, the Aquatic Center must be open in order to secure a permit, so you're out of luck if you get there late or on a Sunday or holiday. We missed the window, just after 7pm on a Friday, so we ended up staying at the visitor center in White Rock instead. |

rolandabundo | Got here late Friday afternoon. No one else around. Travel here made easier in 4WD low range via Sprinter van. When driving here towards gooseneck SP, make a right at mile marker 3. Follow along the rim of the San Juan River. Only a handful of spots along the rim. I camped at the end of road. Was a very windy afternoon and evening. |

TornadoTim | Here we slept on top of the mountain. There’s a cell phone tower and a really steep road that leads to it, 4x4 necessary. On the top you are in a different world and can overlook half of Lesotho. With the cell phone tower you also have excellent connection. But bring blankets, it gets cold up here, it was -3 degrees when we were here. |
