Plenty of spots. Nice location. Nice views of the mountains. The road goes 11 miles to a trailhead so don’t get discouraged if the first few spots are taken.

The other side of the river (crossable on foot for cyclists and 4WD for vehicles) there are a series of stone-walled shelters for tent pitching with wind protection. There is a clear water source too! For crossing the river on foot there are a couple logs a little downstream of the track off the road.

Simple backpacker place with communal kitchen, cold pool, and a range of rooms. I paid R250 for a double bed and ensuite bathroom. Several things didn't work or were run down - the ceiling fan and the air conditioner didn't work (but did in other rooms), the WiFi worked in the main areas but not in some rooms. My shower was cold water only. Flushing toilet but without a seat.
The ladies running the place are friendly and helpful. I was able to wash and hang my clothes out to dry.
The place is secure. There is a big mall within walking distance.

At this point there's currently a massive mud pit that is only doable with high clearance low range 4x4. A big truck got stuck here.
The people said they gonna fix it within a couple of days but I doubt if there's more rain the next days. (23rd March 2024)

The valve of one of our tires broke and the tire started leaking. We found this guy thanks to iOverlander. We had a spare valve and he changed it right away. Very quick and cheap, we gave a great tip.

Ruhiger Platz an einem Staudamm. Am Tage kommen ein paar Leute mit Autos und Motorrädern, in der Nacht ist es ruhig. Mülleimer vorhanden. Platz für mehrere Camper. Anfahrt für jede Art von Womo geeignet.

We paid 120pP to camp. Place is very beautiful and quiet if it was not for the extremely inhospitable guard, that wouldn't even let us use the shade of an empty pergola to just sit and read. Infact it was very hot and none of the pitches had any shade, and I don’t understand how one can refuse a shade when nobody else is around!!
So we decided not to stay another night and also skipped the planned tour.

Just a little down the dirt road from the petroglyph trailhead. One bar. Not many spots. In a wash. Could be trouble if it rains or snows. Beautiful views.

We spent one night here. Very nice place ! Neighbors are so nice ! We got WiFi from them and we could use restrooms. Very good option to sleep on the way to Belize city or the border.

Perfect for a night, well protected from the wind and hidden from the road. But please, take your trash with you !

Martin & his brother are very helpful and friendly guys. They repaired my alternador, offered us to eat with them for lunch and even let us use their warm shower, amazing guys!

Don’t know if the road has gotten a lot worse but was not at all confident in my cars ability to make it down coming from the highway. Definitely need 4wd and high clearance. Large rocks and dips while going up hill.

poor cell signal with at&t and t-mobile but better if you go up or down the road a bit. Quiet and accessible in a sedan.

I stayed the night here, but the tubs had been removed. I don't know if this is a temporary or a permanent thing. Still made for a beautiful camping spot. Some high school kids came by with rifles to shoot bullfrogs, which made the evening a little more interesting. They offered me Coors Light and frog legs. The locals are very generous

It's Walmart and they have a ton of room. Lots of trucks and RVs.

Place is a little dirtier than I would like. Still, being able to use the toilet is a plus. The target concession stand allows you to fill up your water and at least it seems to be filtered.

Stayed here last night. Quiet, nice view if you back in. There is some trash on ground. We picked some up and hope next people will too. It’s literally 1 minute from hwy

We were kicked out by security patrol. They said it’s not okay to park anywhere in the Walmart/shopping complex parking lot (even though we called Walmart ahead of time) and put a sticker on our window saying the same thing. There were some vans and a semi parked in the lot as well. It’s probably best to find a different spot to sleep :)

9 RV/bus spots. Pretty short. My 24’ Class C and toad stuck out. So I parked along the back area. No one here all night!
First thing in the morning, I go to leave and one passenger vehicle parked 10’ in front of me. With all the open spaces around! Lucky I managed to get out.
Good food.

there is a small concrete structure on top of the hill with nobody around. Good for tents with nice view

Street parking on quiet street. Building on one side, vacant block on the other. It is a cul de sac so not many cars. Joggers in the morning. We stayed one night, no one came to disturb.
