Friendly officers. No bribes asked. They just checked the passport and the visa.

Took a mototaxi over the border. A really friendly officer, speaking slow nicely understandable frech, who checked my Visa and stamped my passport. He didn’t asked for any money :)

*** Guinea Bissau to Guinea ***
I took a mototaxi from Quebo to Boke for 25.000 CFA. A local I stayed with in Quebo arranged the taxi for me, so I think it’s a good price. The ride to Boke took around 3 hours.
In the last village before the border I got the exit stamp by a friendly officer without any issues. A few hundert meters further there was a guy in uniform who asked for 1000 CFA without doing or checking anything. My driver told me to pay. Shortly after the border sign we stopped on the Guinean side, where friendly guys checked my Visa & Passport and wrote down the details in a book - no money asked. Shortly before the river crossing there was another officer. He also wanted to see my Visa, Passport and my Corona-Vaccinations. He asked for a “migration fee” of 20.000 GNF. Any discussions were effortless. The river crossing was 20.000 GNF. Seven Kilometres after the river crossing there is the real immigration point with a really nice officer. There you’ll get your Guinea entree stamp.
With a car this border crossing is impossible. The road is really small and bad. Also there is no ferry for cars.

This boutique was completely full and ready chaotic, when I went there. You would have to wait hours. Also they don’t have wifi in the store.
A few roads further there is a small store where it’s also possible to buy Orange SIM-Cards but without having to wait hours.
I payed 50.000 GNF for the SIM-Card and another 50.000 GNF for 4,5GB of data volume.

They asked first for 100.000 GNF and after I refused for 50.000 GNF for pitching my tent there. I went to another place.

I asked if it’s possible to pitch my tent in the parking area. The manager asked me what I’m willing to pay. When I said 30.000 GNF he laughed and told me “That’s nothing”. Searched for a other place then.

we did not see the ioverlander warning here. I wish we had seen it. we followed the natural progression of the road and rest of the traffic which is what Google maps suggested. police were waiting and saw us going this way. they claim there is a sign which we did not see. they asked for international driving licence and seemed friendly at first. then they took us to the police station and told us we had committed an offence. they asked for 2 million. we refused to pay, and said they were corrupt. didn't go down well but we stayed for almost an hour arguing with Google translate. he then claimed it was the same fee as motorbikes (300,000). after a while he dropped it to 200,000 without a receipt. we gave him the money, shook his hand and walked out. best way to avoid is to avoid this street.

Nice place to stay, 40 soles private room private bath. At their store front they are selling desserts. I was able to get my bike stored in the entryway area, however there is not much space. The door is also often left open so I didn't feel my bike was very secure, but at least it was out of sight and nothing was stolen.

Really chill spot with a wonderfully nice family. The kids were cute and wanted to play games with us, always laughing at our Spanish. Unfortunately, we arrived late and were too tired to play!

There is a nice space for parking that is level. There was a canopy tent next to the ‘overlander’ spot for shade. The gate to enter the property is extremely tight, but Stephanie’s husband is going to expand it. We are 2.2m wide and barely scraped through.

The showers are very warm, which is ironic because usually that’s what people crave. But here in the desert, it is hot! Toilets with TP and running water. Hand soap at the sinks. Wifi didn’t work well for us, so we set up a Starlink.

Stephanie asked us 20,000/pp when we arrived, but we mentioned the last comment from just a few days ago, and she agreed to 15,000/pp. However, she told us she wasn’t sure why that guy wrote 15,000 for motorhomes, so expect the price to potentially change.

Dog friendly. A trail runs right from the property to the red desert hiking area that most people do when visiting here.

Staphanie also made us coffee as a surprise one morning, and we had bought a yummy cactus juice from her the day before that we can recommend. Great spot for a night on the way to San Agustin!

if you take the second entrance into Cracker Barrel, there is a section of car parking spots right after the entrance on the left. in between the Cracker Barrel property and the hotel next door. they are quite flat and are also a bit farther away from traffic noise. very nice experience here. Cracker Barrel employees great as always.

Simple hotel for 50 soles matrimonial, has a parking lot but the space is limited. I have a Kombi and I barely fit in the entrance. Nice place but very basic.

They were asking for 20000 for one bag and told us they charge per item. We said our friends only paid 12000 here, they went down to 15000, I asked again for 12000 and they agreed with an annoyed face. They said it takes till morning but still finished it by 4pm on the same day

The burgers are decent...but the service is poor. The staff are not overly friendly. They then forgot our order, didn't apologise, and then delivered look warm burgers. It did taste pretty good though. Just disappointing service, and yet they still demand their propina!

WOW, parked steps from the crystal blue river. You can camp in the main upper parking lot or go about 600m back down the hill to a flat over flow parking and camping area. This is where we camped, go to the edge of the parking lot and right down to the river (rooftop tents, vans and tents -big rigs won't fit riverside). There are a few palapas next to the river. Bathrooms are open all night. This is a great spot to chill and swim/soak in the river (it is cold but refreshing). Hike to the falls first thing in the morning and you will have epic views all to yourself.

Cyclists: We seeked shelter from the crazy winds and this place was not really protected by wind or sight. We followed the riverbed around 300m upwards until we came to a basin in the narrow valley (-20.951516, -66.20238). The path is sandy, but if you are running out of options it is worth the hassle and you will be rewarded with a spectacular and solitude place for yourself.

Clean. Chill place to stop, fuel up and get some food. Only a few spots that are shared between truckers and RVs. Overall very nice. Only downside is the truck running their generators so you’ll need some earplugs.

Large level site with fire ring in the forest but open enough for Starlink. Large enough for our 39ft Super C. We can hear and see traffic on Hwy 60 through the trees. We checked out the road both east and west from Hwy 60. Any farther than the first sites, the road would be too rough for most big rigs.

We stayed here for a very quiet night. The view is magnificent! Since the road has been rebuilt, access to this dead end road is very easy. The back part of this dead end road is very muddy, so we stayed closer to the main road. There is very little traffic during the day and virtually none at night. It can get very cold at night, as it is over 4,000m!

10/10 would stay again. There is a bit of road noise from the highway just beyond the treeline, but we had the whole lot to ourselves and the walking path was a nice way to wind down the evening and start the day. Arrived after 8pm and left by 9am. 4 bars Verizon.

We paid 600. Nice has water tanks at the parking spots that sometimes have water in them. Hot springs were great, they made a concrete pool type thingy in the past couple months, worked for us!

Barely arrived at the parking of the station when an employee came to notify us we were not allowed to park anywhere at the station claiming it was an explosive area and we were “kindly” asked to leave.

We paid $20 for a spot in the H loop. Beautifully kept garden like camp ground. No shower! That's a bit weird but only a big basin and a swivel tap to wash hair - all outside. But still a good spot for this area.
