Lake access off 72. Several single car/vehicle sites (3-4), and one large open parking lot before road heading to lake access. Best for overlanding/car/tent camping. Trailers or big rigs ill advised. Two unlocked and open gates, but could be locked/changed during different seasons. One bar Verizon, but still had functional cell service.

Administered by SC Dept of Natural Resources. Most likely not intended for overnighting but no signage posted prohibiting. Treat area with respect.

No amenities, pack it in pack it out. Adjacent to highway and lake next to railroad, some noise but minimal.

Can’t believe no one had updated this since 2017. River is gone and tree is gone. Ground is still there.

WOW. This is a beautiful spot! we had it to ourselves but then met Dave et Mary who arrived in a vintage 1978 VW Bus. so adorable. Their friend was with them in a super nice Pleasure Way Sprinter! Had a beautiful dinner and enjoyed the sunset with rainbow 🌈

Great laundromat. Many different machines depending on the size of your loads. Staff on site to help. Machines use credit or debit cards, or you put cash in a machine that will print a card with the amount ($) you want. We loaded a card with $8 and it was plenty for our needs.
Clean bathrooms and good wifi.

45 soles for a matrimonial with private bathroom. There is a secure garage in the hotel (with height restriction), the room was nice for the price and clean enough. Hot water on and off. Good WiFi

nice and safe wild camping close to a Kraal. Very nice people, two women and many kids visited us. Was a lot of fun.
Big rigs possible, no 4x4 but good clearance needed.

I spent one night there. A couple of trucks also pulled in for the night. No one bothered me. It was quiet. There was some trash but I was only there to sleep so didn't care.

Okay place to stay - tents can be protected by the shelter. No trees or other protection around, well seen. But quiet and nobody around.
No cellphone reception, but at the crossing to the mainroad 23 you have Claro 4G.

The best restaurant in town, sit on a platform at the beach. A lot of vegetarian options and some meat & fish. We had the creamy Rastafarian beans& rice and the red red with Jollof. Both a very nice flavour 50 & 45 cedis respectively.

Very nice place for wild camping. Attention! At 2 in the morning the police stopped by and woke me up. Wanted to see my papers and then said that camping was actually not allowed here. But they were nice and friendly and said I could stay here for the rest of the night and should continue tomorrow.

I almost didn't find this until I switched to Satellite view on my Maps App. Then I saw the dirt road along the power lines that leads to it. A nice beautiful little spot. I was here in winter and just looking for a place to sleep and not have to vacate too early.

I came for the Transcanada.
Turn left onto Sandy Bay Road. it will curve right then left. Drive a little ways and look for a dirt road with powerlines running along it, it goes both left and right. Turn right. Road is uneven with some deeper spots. Clearance may be an issue for some vehicles. As described, at the end is a bit of a clearing. Big eough to turn around in, and for a few vehicles.

Ferry does not have a fixed schedule, but just runs back and forth continuously when there are vehicles. Smooth and professional! Payment is done on the French side only (cash or card). 56€ up to 3,5ton, 77€ above 3,5t. Includes the driver, extra passengers 4€. Border paperwork quick and easy. Currently still the old ferry in operation (8 car max), but the new ferry(20cars) is ready for operation as soon as the extention works on the Suriname side are finished… maybe a few more months.

You can squeeae trough the trees and park right next to the carbets, possible to be fully iut of sight of the road. It’s a nice spot in a magical jungle setting with surprisingly little mosquitoes. There is a lot of hunting (illegal?) in the area, so there are some people with guns walking around. If you planned to walk around the forest at night making animal noises… this is not the place to do it!

Along the Vias Verdes del Litoral, next to an old train station with benches. Better to avoid here on weekends if you want a good night's rest, as teenagers will sometimes wander nearby.

Definately not a bad view, but it’s right next to the road. Quite a bit of visitors (take a photo and go) during the the day. Only had lunch here, did not stay the night.

Shea Road going out of Parker is paved but full of huge potholes making the first few miles a nasty drive. It improves once you pass a cattle guard. Land on the west side of the road is posted “no camping” but if you continue, you’ll reach some open areas with plenty of room to park. Depending on your neighbors, it can be quiet. There is the usual amount of BLM trash and broken glass- some but not overwhelming. Great ATT coverage.

O padre da igreja foi muito antipatico, não gosta que estacionem ali, ao menos de deixem uma contribuição “expontânea” de 50 reais por noite, e não tem nenhuma facilidade, não libera água nem energia!

Ficamos nossas noites no bosque municipal! Vou deixar o ponto aqui no app tbm, tem todas as facilidades menos chuveiro, mas tem agua, energia e churrasqueira, além de lugares retos para estacionar.

We didn’t stay there because they wanted to charge us 650 for two adults and we couldn’t park where we want even if there is a very large grassy land.
Also, the lady was not friendly at all.
