Great spot with pull through sites. On the lake and next to a city park. Shared this location with 8 or more other campers. Set up like a campground but free. A donation box was available.

Paradise. Don't miss it. All said before. Try the fish in the restaurant, it's very tasty.

A nice spot. Fairly quiet overnight but a couple dog walkers and some traffic noise from 164 in the morning. Park out of the way of early am fishing and boat launch users.

No signs other than one about stopping aquatic hitchhikers.

I had the whole place to myself,just stayed one night,very quiet,a few folks drove through… it has outhouses,and the one is dated,but seems to be clean.. this is the last week for camping there till fall…

Lots of places to stay along the road. 2 5G Tmobile bars. Take it slowly on the road coming in. Not as noisy from helicopters as the sites on the south side of town.

There are now “no camping or overnight parking” signs. It is strictly enforced.

We stayed one night at this place. The guard is really nice. We saw 2 trains in the evening but no one during the night.
Quiet and safe night ! We recommend !

Great spot for an overnighter. Plenty of open places to pull off and camp. There’s a few vans here today.

now good free wifi available. also fairly grovel level ground on the other side of the road from the shrine. no wind protection. I'm staying not too close from the road so not so much noise. a really good spot by my book .

Fire pits, has well but don’t know if potable. Still good.

Didn’t look too inviting. It’s a narrow dirt path, not really a site. The river is downstream of dozens of people and villages, and surely contains yes with human waste. There was a man bathing in the river at this site. We didn’t camp.

Beautiful campsite. No one was there when we arrived, but we decided to camp anyways. No one came all night. Next morning, an old man wandered through camp, sat down 100 meters away, and stared at us for an hour while we packed up. He did not want to chat, and we did not pay. Bathrooms filthy/non-functional, no running water or electricity, and river is downstream of many villages and thus quite dirty. Regardless, site feels very safe, and I’d recommend this for a night.

I went to this place. The lady behind the desk asked me if I would be sleeping in the camper. I told her yes and I was turned away. Be stealth if you plan to stay.

We didn't like the place. 360 Rand for 2 persons, restrooms not clean, the gate closes already at 4 pm (opens at 8 in the morning).
No MTN signal at all, no Wifi.
For the same amount or less we had much better places.

Stayed for one night. We went for a drink and play a little bit. We slept great and felt safe. A little bit of noise until midnight and then pretty quiet for the rest of the night.

We tried to get to this BLM but there was a locked gate and it says private property no trespassing so we left.

amazing free camping spot!! beautiful view of the sunset and sunrise at the top. both of us got service (Verizon and tmobile). pretty much exactly like everyone has described. road was a little rocky but not awful, just go slow. the cleanest pit toilet I've ever seen. someone came to clean it while we were there and you could smell the bleach when he was done so clearly they are taking it seriously. would stay here again and would recommend this spot to everyone in the area!!!

Was here 5/12 (have camped here before). This area is now suffering from over-use. While I was there, there was a couple lighting off firecrackers, I jumped their A$$ES...good way to get this area closed off to camping! PLEASE RESPECT these natural and free places to camp but not doing stupid stuff like this, pick up your trash and DONT DUMP YOUR GREY WATER!!

Pit toilet building has a padlock on it. Plenty of room. Lots of birds and frogs audible. Some lights from the locked toilet building and gas station nearby (fabulous diesel price!) but not much traffic noise. Its a great spot. Very level.

still a nice spot. 2wd accesible and way less mosquitos then in Rurrenabaque.

We had a great, but brief overnight here. The host was very nice, offering to meet us if we couldn't locate the place, etc. It cost $25 (cash). We were only able to hookup to electricity, although there was water and sewage dump on the site, because our hoses wouldn't reach (our bad, not theirs). There are a number of trailers there and there was a loud pickup truck leaving around 5AM, but we were up then to see the sunrise over the Badlands. A couple of nice dogs walking around that weren't a problem for us.

Great views all around. Quiet but there were people in almost every parking spot. I got there around 8:30pm and this spot was open.

Nice campground at the coast with beautiful nature around. Platform for tents, BBQ station, community and chillout area, fire pits and tables at every platform. Hot showers. Paid $ 57,50 (including tax) for one night.

Road closed, campsite $115 for the night.

Spent a few nights here on/off while I was in town for a week. No issues. People park in the parking lot (next to the movies)- so that is definitely an option if you have a larger rig and worry about fitting. It’s a little busy but super quiet at nights. As always, thanks Cracker Barrel!!

Was ok. A safe uninterrupted spot for overnight stay. However, the bathrooms with showers were locked as not summer yet (we guess). There was one other nearby public washroom which was super clean with sinks but no shower. Also, the area is just an open grass area in the middle of town so it feels a bit exposed.
