Massive parking for trucks. The whole space was full of them.
Therefore we recommend not to park in the back of the YPF, you will disturb them and they need the space. The YPF has a costumer parking on the left. You will fit in with a sprinter or similar.

We stayed here with 4 other campers. It’s busy and loud.

Showers are only for truck drivers. But men’s can just walk in. For the female showers you need a personal document in exchange of the keys. With a little luck you will get it.

Beautifully located on the shores of Lake Victoria. The road there is pretty good, especially while it's rainy season now. Make sure to look out for the signs, which are old and not obvious. If you follow googlemaps: the first sign from the main road is is few kilometres more south, towards the western gate of the Serengeti. We could pick any place we wanted. There is the possibility to make use of the toilet / warm shower in one of the cabins. The cabin we used was not in great shape but very nice to use. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Camp spots with beautiful view over the lake and sunset and nicely shaded under the trees. We saw some hippo footsteps but didn't see any, and felt safe while we sat right on the shore. well recommended.

The most beautiful spot under cherry blossoms! Park at the end for views of the mountains and a frame of Sakura’s. Follow the road up past the parking area with the bathroom. Also, has cute lookout tower. Had no problem sleeping there for a night, another local was in a pop up camper as well.

Nice spot to sleep in your car. It's far enough from the highway, so it's quiet. Outdoor bathroom next to the KFC. Could probably stay multiple nights without any fuss. I stayed two.

Very nice spot to spend the night. It is a bit away from the road but not really hidden. We heard no cars at night. You can reach the river for water.

Open water tap near the water fountain (which was closed), at a reasonable height from the ground so possible to fill up big jugs or tanks. The visitor centre and its toilets were closed too though.

Mexico aduana was a bit harder to get the 10 year TIP. although my paper in German says Wohnwagen = motorhome, unfortunately on offline google translates it as a caravan, which she first refused to accept as casa rodante or motorhome. There is no internet for better translation. luckily in the end she agreed for my Sprinter to give me the 10 year TIP. 55US$

Great view of the city. The south side is especially amazing, you can see how big (long) Quito is from north to south. The only downside is that it is not safe to walk up to the top. Many locals warned me about frequent robbery in the area. Taking a bus or a taxi / Uber is recommended.

I travel alone and sleeped here. Felt safe. Nosy some times. Got a cold shower for 30 pesos. Restrooms free. Wake up in the middle of the night with many cars from national guard around, so felt more safer... Did not want to drive at night at this carretera.

After driving through Etosha NP we parked at this picnic table to make ourselves dinner and decided to stay for the night. During the night there is nearly no traffic and even in the morning there wasn’t a lot going on.

This is a great place to stay. Its warm and there are big shade trees. The access route is a little rough. The poeple are so kind. You can camp in a camper like us but they have 3 chalets that can be rent with beautiful balconies. Fruit trees and some chickens and they have parrots also. The kids brought us peeled mangoes from their mother which are from their trees. They also dry their own coco beans for chocolate. Definitely recommend. Clean bathroom and shower.

There are actually two places to fill water bottles here. One is outside of Basha’s next to Goodwill as previously stated. The machines there charge 50 cents per gallon. There is another at an ice cream parlor around the corner on the north side of the shopping center that has water fill stations both inside and outside. There’s even a rinse station inside to clean your bottles. The price there is 30 cents a gallon and they sell ice as well. Adding pictures of both refill stations.

Yes, the price is now 20 soles for tourists, but we thought it was worth it. If you want to get to the salinas with your vehicle you have to get here from the south (from Maras), Google maps shows there is a road getting here from the north but it's actually a footpath (check the warning on this app)
You only have to walk 50 meters to the salinas and the view is really cool! You are also given a small packet of salt with the ticket

We spent 1 night here, arriving in the evening and leaving in the morning. Off season, we were not bothered and actually only saw a sign prohibiting camping but not overnight parking? This place saved us from a very windy night higher up at the marina, as we had originally planned. One other car spent a few hours in the evening on the other end of the parking lot, then left. Very quiet but unfortunately a bit of garbage was lying around (and toilet papers...) despite the bins. Toilets were closed.

Ok place off season if self-contained and respectful!
