$32 dry camping per night. Conveniently located and trees provide (some) privacy. Nice indoor pool, showers are free. Good value!

Large open area on solid stones at the previous river banks with levelled spots. Locals park their vehicles here on the beach to take the boat to Boca Manu. We left the car here during the day and it felt good so we decided to stay the night too. The locals are incredibly kind and gave us bananas and brought us some groceries from Boca Manu. Amazing views over the Madre de Dios river and in distance the Manu river. In the morning incredible sunrise with thousands of chestnut macaws.

this was a nice surprise, perfect place for a peaceful night. there is a toilet, and a garbage can. place was super clean. amazing huge trees! would definitely stay here again, but mid April meant no bugs🙂 Don't let Google guide you here, it takes you to a locked gate. Swift River this time of year so mind the cliff edge of you have pets with you.

typical Walmart. large lot. I parked back by the garden area as there's a carnival directly across the road, n a couple food vendors in the Walmart lot next to the road. a semi drove past me, other than that, quiet. there's a couple others over here, a truck, a couple campers, others scattered about.

Tanzanian food, burgers and pizza in a nice ambiance. The staff is friendly and tries to serve at the best and speak English. Grilled fish with fresh salad and fries or rice 8USD pp is very good and the drinks and beers are cold.

This place is linked to the restaurant pin "NicolĂĄs Coffee". They are very enthusiastic here about bicycle tourers. So, if you are a cicloviajero, you can gently ask them to overland here. We (3 cyclers) slept here in same room. WiFi, hot shower, washing machine for free.
They are very pro in coffee here (Nicolas), with full different machines and options. The prices are a bit higher than in center Andahuaylas and Abancay, though. But place is very nice and ppl VERY friendly and welcoming. They will do everything so you feel nice. Maybe you'll meet Carlos Felipe Alejandro (pisco and food pro) which is a true phenomenon haha! He was so nice, he gave us EVERYTHING we needed. We had a super nice evening with him with his cocktails and galaxian stories.
SOLO GIRLS TRAVELING: please be careful, Carlos is nice but with a female friend of us who came solo cycling, he proposed her a "holistic massage" after proposing alcohol. She just went to bed and nothing happened. But during daaays after he continued sending her insisting messages...

Four officially designated dispersed camping spots; three drive in and one more of a park beside and set up your tent. Spots one and two are fairly close to road but we had little traffic during the day and none noticed through the nights. Someone was in spot one so we couldn’t really observe but was on a slight rise and appeared to have two areas to be in/park. Spot two had a circular pull through but not for larger rigs as the short approach angles might cause some scraping; hard to level here. Spot three was the aforementioned “tent” spot with a pull off for a standard vehicle; on day two someone had a second vehicle parked close to it as well. Spot four is more away from the others (but not far) and furthest from the road; on a small rise but could accommodate most sized vehicles that would ever make it up the forest road to get to this area. Great little hiking/mountain biking trail—number 333, “Honey Bucket”; through the bouldered forest with views of Granite Mountain, Thumb Butte, and the San Francisco Peaks North of Flagstaff (can see some of these through the trees from spot four as well). Other horse/hiking/mountain biking trails can be accessed immediately after spot four and from along the main road in (all areas require dogs to be on leash). Decent cellular access; a couple of bars of ATT 5g.

Positive:

The campground itself is really cheap and pretty. For only 17 $ you get a nice spot at the river with electricity and water (didn't use the water).

The night was absolutely quiet.

Since checkout is at 1pm, there is no rush when leaving.

Negative:

The washrooms aren't nice at all. The lights were off so you couldn't really use them at night. The showers were unusable, the water coming out was brown like rust. It's fine if things are basic for that price, but they should be clean and working.

In the morning, random people showed up with their cars, driving circles in the park and leaving again. That caused a lot of dust from the road on our breakfast. Happend 3 times.

Please note that you can't make a reservation.

You can only pay cash or with cheque.

A beautiful campsite with truly exceptional views and nearby outdoor adventures. There is very little level space and it’s best suited for small vehicles or RTTs. The site can only be accessed from the Upper Black Ridge Access Road (not the lower) which is open seasonally. Much of the road to the site is difficult and would be unwise to attempt in poor conditions or without a high clearance vehicle. Definitely consult the BLM’s website for the Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness Area before you go!

Still a good place. We were able to pitch the tent on a solid flat spot out of sight for passing traffic. However, the options for a suitable flat spot may vary with the season as the stream nearby still carries water, making the adjacent ground wet and muddy.

RD 380 just past (EB) an established campsite which is closed for the winter. Very large flat dirt lot immediately over the bridge. Just me here. Possible tent sites along the river. Some road noise but not too bad. Occasional 1 bar of VZW but basically no service.

Stayed one night here with another van. Very nice place. Crowded during weekends (but people leave around 6pm) but we parked our van in the field after the soccer field and it was perfect. Very quiet at night. There’s water, bathroom and restaurant. 50 pesos/person.
