The hostel is still operating, but only with one dorm (8 beds) at the moment. Still a really nice and chilled vibe. They got a bar and caffe open for breakfast.

Still has road closed signs at both entrances on highway 63.

Addendum to my prior post: spent 1 night no problem. Was going to try for 1 more, as i really liked this spot, but got the knock from sheriff at 2pm. Glad they came early. Sheriff not particularly friendly. I headed 4miles north to cracker barrel.

Very open with stunning views. Close to Leslie Gulch Road. Turn off Leslie Gulch Rd at small info sign and continue a few minutes. Bit bumpy but okay if careful. Flat spot with fire pit. Sign at entrance of road has rules on collecting petrified wood.

I need a place to park for the night. Close to Palisade. No hook-ups required.

The last 42km to San Pedro (from Argentina border) is very very steep. You decent from 4800 to 2500 without hardy any flat surface. Make sure the breaks of your car are good enough to handle this. There are many emergency pista’s (almost every 2/3 km there is one) if your breaks fail to work. Be safe and drive slow!

I found my camper van this year at 10 1/2 feet was too tall to get into the local park n fly by the airport. By happenstance, I found out that Avis car rental just north of the airport across the main road has daily parking and their gate can accommodate a really tall vehicle, not certain how long a vehicle they can handle but certainly any van or sprinter should be fine. Seven dollars a day roughly.

The manager was kind enough to let us shelter from the storm overhead though so I don't think it's a terrible place to stay - secure parking for motorcycles at least and some cars or 4x4

It is a large area with various pitches, for smaller vehicles by the river with shade and hammocks and campfire, for larger vehicles above on the meadow with less shade. No pitch has electricity or water. The shower is wonderfully warm. This is only available at the restaurant. The restaurant is OK, 4500 Casado. For us it was by no means the prettiest pitch, but it was the most expensive at 7400 Col pPN for us in Costa Rica. The road from Santa Elena to this pitch is rather narrow and bad for large cars. Laundry service 3000 Col per kilo! Stefanie is very friendly. She says only tourists complain about the camping price, for the locals it is OK. wifi at the Restaurant.

A place to park overnight while attending a conference in Palisade.

Flat BLM with only short bushes and shrubs. This road is pretty easy to navigate for rigs of all sizes. There are three bumpy spots right in the beginning as you turn in from 247 but after that it should be fairly manageable. 4x4 or high clearance not necessary. There are tons of spots to choose from but the spot marked here is the last of three big-rig friendly openings. This particular area seems to be not very popular with the OHV crowd and you should be able to find some privacy in comparison to other marked spots up and down 247. We stayed here for two weeks with no neighbors. Great Starlink signal, 5G Verizon and 5G ATT. Can get hot and windy, no shade but great for solar.

Currently these dispensers are closed. The sign says through the end of March, but I’m here on April 21 and they’re still closed.

This campsite and soon to be hostel has good cellphone reception throughout the site. At present there is no place for vehicles to park in the site, tents only. The owner is performing renovations to also have a hostel on this site. There are warm showers and access to a kitchen which is well stocked and has a gas stove/oven. There is also a large sheltered area for eating, relaxing and socialising. There are multiple PowerPoints for charging devices.

Not very clean, but good pressure and temperature.

There's roadwork on a very steep mountain pass which has led to both directions being covered gravel and loose rocks. Locals have a hard time getting across too. If you decide to pass, only do so with 4x4.

We spent one night here, breaking our journey from Cochabamba to la Paz.Flat area, and felt safe. The only thing,you can hear the trucks passing by, but with some earplugs( the adults) we spent a good night sleep here.
