Easy stop along the 7 mile plane crash trail. A couple spots could fit multiple rtt rigs.

Access is actually east on #28 by 3-4 miles on FR-16 north and then west on FR -1100. Good road, but no where to pass an incoming vehicle. Place was almost full when we arrived midweek 8 pm

Report Check-In

Nice campground down a narrow dirt road. Trees were cut back and clearance was good. Very few places to pass another vehicle. Spaces have tables and fire pits. Amazingly, 3 bars on Verizon.

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. Quiet and good sleep.Did I mention bugs?

USNF campground, 6 spots—3 are creekside, but do not have good views of the water. Sites have fire ring, picnic table. Pit toilet. Free at this time.

Spent 2 nights here. Forest rangers came and replaced a couple of fire pits and the picnic table on spot 6. They were very nice. I have stayed here 4 times and every time is a blessing.

Campground gratuit aménager dans le Ottawa National Park
Le site est vraiment bien aménagé et les toilettes étaient propre.
Il y a possibilité de faire des randonnées à partir des emplacements

Sweet camp site #6. Careful of the coordinates - there are USFS signs off MI28 and the sites are FF. We got in around 9p on a July Saturday night and got the last site. Two vans came in after us…The sites are level, large, and clean. The pit toilets were clean. You can hear the rapids but we didn’t venture into the (tick filled) brush. This is bear county so be aware.

Awesome campsite! Like others said about 3 mi down gravel flat road. Vault toilets, no water, but nice level sites.

pulled in early on a Monday, camp was full by 6pm. this is a very popular spot for good reason. quite a few bugs.
excellent Verizon service.
easy one track, large spaces, would still avoid with larger rvs due to tight turns and single track road.
West goes wandering on Instagram and YouTube

Very nice free forest service campground. Pit toilets, picnic tables and lamp posts. There is a nice place to visit the river. 6 sites first come first serve

Spots are quite near to each other, so would need to mind your noise at night. Very relaxing place to stay with the river just right behind.

Incredible place. Just spent 2 weeks there and it was quiet, clean, campsite spots are massive (plenty of room and flat ground for large rigs), tons of places to find free forest wood to burn, pit toilets are kept up by forest staff once a week, and although the short river trail says closed (stairs are jacked up but it’s still very easy to work with) most people use it for fishing and I ended up at the river with my dog most days. Plenty of places along the river to fill up fresh water.

The place is completely free regardless of residency. There are also easy ways to walk very long distances around the area just going on the main road that leads into the site.

We did come across a black bear at a distance so just be prepared for that. However there weren’t any problems with wildlife in the campground area itself. Just remember to store away all smelling items as a measure.

Campfire pits are fairly deep and all have swing grates attached.

Highly recommend this place.

Really fantastic place... I ‘d pay for this( oh wait , I do with my taxes!) here on a Friday night to Saturday morning — 3 empty spots! We think site#3 is best. But all are great. Ea one is quite private. Pit toilets fine— plenty of Tp in there too Yay!

Very nice. It is as others describe. The road in is very dusty as I don't think they've had much rain in the area. But it is so very worth it.

Really nice place. The campspots are very secluded from each other. The roads are easy. Fireplace and picnic table. Pit toilet nearby. Beware of mosquitoes, there were hundreds of them the moment we stepped out of the car.

Nice, free established campground with 6 private areas. One of them has a trail to the creek which was very pretty. We arrived before sunset and were the only ones there but another car came around 10:30 pm. Really quiet. There are male and female toilets.

great little campground. loved that the sites are pushed back a bit from the drive so that you feel more secluded. nice little hike that you can take down to the river as well. saw a few locals fishing it. pack it in, pack it out. keep it clean.

Six very nice spots with an outdoor pit toilet. Federal lands, you can stay in a spot for up to 14 days. Mosquitoes and deer flies are annoying.

Beautiful spot with 6 wooded sites with hiking trails along the Soarrow Rapids, pit toilet, long gravel road to get to sites but very easily traveled.

Great free camping spot right on the river. There are primitive out houses. Spots are big enough for large rigs and nice smooth roads to get here. There are picnic tables in each site along with a fire ring. Stay up to 14 days. No trash receptacles so be sure to pack out what ever you bring in.
