South Africa
Like all other platteland towns, this municipal campsite is equally run-down, but still operative.
Normal rate R250 per stand.
We preferred to negotiate it to R200, over the nearby luxury one at R440 but 3 days minimum.
For stop-over it supplied all we needed - even a warm bath!
It was a Saturday evening, we were alone with only a party at the lapa - with the promise from the on-site care taker, that he closes the gate at 20.00 - end of party.
We walked out the gate down to the bridge over the Komati river - spectacular- the bonus was the yawning hippo opstream close to the railway bridge. The suset contributed to spectacular scenes.
We washed laundry & had the ablutions to ourselves.
Good value for our money.

as others said. very dirty. worst toilets I ever saw. use this camping only to sleep safe, its fenced and 2 dogs roam around. dont go here if you want to shower, braai or have a cozy evening. just sleep and go.
Report Check-InOh, and the only two toilets that work in the women's bathroom, have no seat. Staff doesn't even see the problem with that and recommended to just use the men's bathroom.
Report Check-InThis place is open and operational, but extremely run down and way overpriced for what you get. The compound is not well maintained but okay, but the abolutions are a mess. The hot water is broken, there are no light bulbs, the shower in the men's bathroom has no curtain, and their is no shower head, so the water just comes of the wall in a straight, hard, cold gush. No toilet paper, generally dirty. They asked for 250 rand for the car and 50 Rand per person per night. Negotiated them down to 300 rand, which we still think is way too much. The camp is fenced and there is a night guard though, so we expect it to be safe. Acceptable stop if you really need something close to the border. But if you can avoid staying here, do.
Report Check-InThis place is virtually closed down. The caretaker let us stay as it was late and dark when we arrived but there is no longer power or water available. We still paid 200 rand and did have a quiet and safe night before leaving very early for Kruger.
Report Check-InLarge campsite, but we were alone. Nice swimmingpool, in shaded area. Ablutions not functioning: sink blocked, showers and toilet very dirty, showerheads broken and no warm water. We paid the full price of ZAR 250, without being informered about the non-functioning ablutions. No electricity available, but we don’t need.
