Something not right?

Description

We read about this place in the Mexico Camping book and Whatsapp showed it not far off the highway so thought we would check it out to dump the black water. So glad we did. Not for very tall or long rigs but we made it fine. We are 24’ long... around 3 meters. Everyone is very kind here and the grounds and landscaping are beautiful. Electric and water and sewer and I think we paid 250 pesos. Small pool, decent bathrooms and showers, although they are not private. Easy walk to food, Walmart, auto zone, good Mexico food, a few American chain fast food places. Great stop. Very dog friendly!

Shaded, secluded hotel parking lot. It's right on a MAJOR intersection, so there's definitely a lot of road noise, but it's diffuse enough to be OK.
Yes it's got jungle vibes and a nice, pleasant place to be outside of your vehicle, also it's not enough to forget that you're in a hotel parking lot, smack in the middle of a noisy city.

The issue with vehicle height is upon exiting. It's a one way circulation around the hotel, and the awning protrudes most of the way out into the exit. There is also a string of flags over the entrance, and I'm guessing it's there as a "squirrel catcher" for people who would otherwise not notice the height restriction. If you're really hard up for a place to stay, a few bucks and some help outside the vehicle would probably get you in through the flags and back out through the entrance.

Showers are hot in the men's room, but they are on full display to anyone who comes in. No walls, no curtains.
Toilets are fine, and clean, but unusually cramped.

From a safety standpoint, and having backed in so my back door was facing the "jungle," I felt comfortable sleeping with my back doors open, but kept the front and sides closed and locked.

Paid $250 for a solo traveler in a van. Overall, I've had much better for cheaper, but it's a great spot if you have things to take care of in town, and want to open your rig up for some air flow in the night.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE: This place is smack up next to the single best park I've ever been to in my whole life. Thousands of people in an enormous outdoor rec center, huge basketball courts, squash, paddle ball, exercise classes, multiple baseball diamonds, a running path, a cycling path, what seems to be a full on gym, snack stands, chill areas, etc etc. It's after dark and perfectly safe. Plus there are good restaurants, a nice bike shop, and real (non Starbucks) coffee all within a five minute walk.

It is now $300 pesos for two people, but a wonderful place to park. We met the general manager and he was extremely welcoming and bi-lingual. We have a wonderful shaded spot that feels like the jungle. It is cooler here then in Tuxtla. He gave us good recommendations of places to go.

Spent 2 nights here, we slept well! 250pesos per nights, toilet and shower are outside, pool was open but not so clean. Great location

great spot!

the hotel is on the corner of a busy intersection, but you can't even see it from the road - there is so much greenery! it's like being in the jungle! you still get some road noise, but we sleep with a fan on so it didn't bother us overnight.

the spots for vans/campers are just an area of the parking for the hotel, but they're nicely shaded with electrical hookups nearby. The hotel has good, fast wifi.

the manager, Francisco, was very friendly and speaks excellent English

Price was 250pesos for 2 people in a van

Avoid this place ! Owners are nice and helpful but what the staff has done to my laundry was a nightmare. They offered me laundry but didn’t mention a woman who cleans up there is taking my pieces @home. She brought it back the next morning: it was wet, dirty and half of my clothes incomplete. I wasted a day because I was waiting until they drop off the missed pieces from their home. It was a bad experience.

Party place! Don’t go there if you want to sleep. Costumers of the hotel were partying in the yard until 1-2 am. They were jumping and sreaming in the pool that was 4 meters from my van. I went two times to the reception, they said they’ll take care of it but they didn’t do anything. You can add to this the loud music from the bars around.

And....it's a hotel carpark! Secure enough in the central city, and at only 200Ps/n we can't complain. Close to KFC too :)

We slept here on our way to San Christobal and on our way back. Typical Motel parking lot with about four or five spots for overlanders. The area is nice and clean. The bathrooms are clean but the showers aren’t separated (so not very private but hot).

Good wifi in the whole area.

200 MXN per night.

Shady place. 100 pesos pp after some bargaining. We liked here

Good place for a one night stop, 250 Pesos, clean bathrooms and toilets, fast WiFi, close to some restaurants, height is limited to 3.30 meters due to the reception roof, no limit in width.
