lovely alternative route to Mindo from Otavalo or vv with stunning views. google maps does not see the whole thing, only maps.me. There was about 6-8km of cobblestone leaving the pavement of Otavalo which was a little squirrelly with the knobby moto tires, then hardpacked dirt and a fair amount of loose rock until San Jose de Minas, but great condition overall. Then pavement until Mindo climbing up through a dusty mining town. Spectacular views the entire way.
